The young Asian lady that works the cash register/coffee is incredibly nice and outgoing in RR2. That’s about the only plus other then its convenient. They sometimes seam a little short staff at peak hours to ring people up. I’m not a big café fish person and they do fish a lot. Sometimes I get a little concerned about the food temp because sometimes when I get back to my desk it’s already starting to get lukewarm and it’s not that far(food should still be really warm or borderline hot). I try really hard to not go there for lunch or breakfast when I can avoid. However, I must say compared to RR1’s customer service(or lack there of) at the separate coffee counter. RR2 is much better.

RR5 isn’t the same as RR2. In fact, it’s pretty terrible, half of the stations shut down a few months ago and haven’t reopened. Food is never hot, salad bar choices are limited, they always run out of food quickly.

A good place that offers a variety of choices as a balance between«healthy» food and other lunch items. The staff is always helpful and efficient, while many of the menu items can change weekly to suit the tastes of everyone eating here. The salad bar is basic, the custom salad bar by Chef Guillermo always has a good balance and combination that you want. The grilling bar offers many flame broiled and deep friend choices. Customize a burger or customize your chicken strips and you should be good. The pizza oven is always rolling. When they have rustic pizza days, that is always a good deal to get something unique made to fit your appetite. The specialty bar has had many things from trout, to Phở, to Thai, to many other things that cycle through and its always worth checking out. The sandwich bar comes with wraps, panini’s and other healthy bites that you may desire. On top of the specialty bars, they have many ready-made pickup items from Sushi, to snacks, to fruit, to bagged chips and the sort. If you are thirsty, they have almost an endless choice of beverages from fresh gourmet coffee, fresh made teas, and most beverages that you can find in your local stores; no matter if it is «healthy» juices to carbonated energy drinks. it is here. The staff is always friendly and the prices are good. The cafeteria and bistro’s allow you to get a good meal without needing to leave the area and compete with traffic and unfresh ingrediants. Good food and food choices.

Agree with the other reviews. The place is hit or miss. On Fridays, the hot entrée section next to the grill generally looks like they assemble all the mix and match leftovers they need to unload before they go bad. I think one day they had lasagna with french fries or something absurd like that. I remember thinking to myself… «If anything says Italian lunch theme it must be french fries, right?» I used to think the grill was pretty reliable until I got a grilled chicken sandwich one day that tasted like a phone book. Also, the speed of service at the grill is so slow it sometimes makes you want to cry. This sent me on a lunchtime death spiral that ended with me eating pizza there everyday for two weeks — the only reliably good lunch item. Then again it is pretty hard to screw up pizza. Suffice it to say, I gained 8 pounds during those two weeks, so this is not a recommended course of action. I really wish someone would do something to improve the food in the cafeteria. At the prices they charge, surely there must be some room to improve. I’d also be hard pressed to believe they score very well on their annual survey.

I usually don’t rate a Cafeteria that highly unless they really do something right but they are doing it right here sure. They have between five and six different queues you can go to and get a list of various things. They have pasta, meat and veg, sandwiches, and more. There is something for everyone. I was only here a week, but I must say everything I tried I enjoyed.

The food sucks here. The roast beef is tough and flavorless. It’s as loud and crowded like a high school cafeteria. One plus is everything is really cheap. Still not worth it.

This is for RR2E and RR8 cafeterias: Can get pretty crowded, but their are a lot more options than the Parmer cafeterias. The prices are pretty good, and the food quality is standard. Sometime they will get themed and do stuff for holidays or bring in BBQ. You can also fill up your nalgene/water bottles at the fountains so bring those with you and save a couple dollars on drinks.

So, the Dell Cafes have evolved over the years. There were points in time where I would have rated them a 1 star, but I think they have gotten a lot better. I work in RR7, so this is for the RR8 Cafeteria. The best thing they have there is the«make your own» pizza. You choose the toppings, and they put together a rustic pizza for you. Its actually pretty good, and healthy, if you want it to be. Just make sure to tell the guy to go light on the sauce. I have also used the salad bar, but I think its over priced. Most people try to stuff as much as possible into one of the small boxes. I would avoid the soup. People usually skim through it and get out all the good stuff before I make it down there. I had some particularly bad Italian Wedding Soup from the café, one time. It was super salty and had no other flavor. Sandwiches are ok, but some of the bread is ultramoist and sticks all over my teeth. Overall, I agree with the others, It’s a necessary evil that I must visit when I’m too busy to leave, but any off campus restaurant is better.

Yup, this place is definitely to be avoided if possible. But life has been crazy and schedules don’t always accommodate driving somewhere or remembering to bring your lunch. The breakfast stuff is fine — it’s hard to mess up breakfast. And I like the healthier breakfast tacos — wheat tortillas, turkey bacon, and egg. My coworker gets oatmeal a lot so I guess it’s passable. DONOT eat the sushi. I was able to taste the preservatives they use — nasty. For lunch, the most reliable option are the custom sandwiches, but I don’t recommend the potato chips that they offer up. They taste stale. I tend to go for hot food, but the hot food section(where they have pasta and rice dishes and cooked veggies) is very unreliable. One chicken dish I tried had what tasted like a whole jar of capers in the one serving. I hear that other buildings’ cafeterias are better, but that may be a perception«the grass is always greener.» The staff is always very nice, at least, and they let me exchange a Vitamin Water that I thought tasted like cough syrup.

So if you work at Dell, you know all about the cafeteria’s — this review is about Round Rock 2 cafeteria. The options for Breakfast include: breakfast tacos, eggs/bacon/sausage, omelette’s, oatmeal, fruit, and some cereals on top of the refrigerator. The omelette’s are the only good breakfast food. The cooks used to be very nice about 2 years ago, and Belinda at the omelet station is from back then, so she’s still nice. The new ones are kind of rushed and harsh, so be sure to order quickly and correctly or they’ll stare at you like you’re retarded. Lunch is an epic fail daily except for the grill(hamburger), and the fresh Sushi… the Sushi really is good, it’s a shame it’s $ 6-$ 11, which with a captive audience is to be expected, but it seems a bit expensive for a company cafeteria. I believe Sodexho runs the cafeteria, and I am suprised they haven’t been kicked out yet, as all of my co-workers agree with me: avoid the cafeteria and go out to eat instead. The food will taste better and probably cost less than the cafeteria does.
