I had the fillet, my wife had the rib eye for lunch this week. I liked hers but my peice of meat was a lower quality piece with a lot of fat on it, which is weird for a fillet. Vegetables tasted like they were from a can. I liked the mashed potatoes, my wife didn’t. Overall it was mixed experience. I like having local restaurants in Round Rock(Chainville) and hope these guys are able to stick around where others have failed. Salad bar was pretty barebones with just basic selections available. Service was good, this is a large restaurant. Next time I will try the country fried steak as it seems like that is their speciality. Also, prefer Coke products to Pepsi… 2.5 rounded up.

The quality and portions are excellent. We enjoyed steaks and thought the sides were solid — veggies and onion rings! We were glad that we did not judge this book by the cover. It’s not a memorable atmosphere and the menu is littered with typos, but the food is really good.

We’ve eaten at Aunt Julie’s a few times and have yet to be disappointed. The steaks are huge portions and my 6 ft tall 250 lb boyfriend likes his steaks! The salad bar has all kinds of goodies including radishes and celery. Most places just have lettuce and tomatoes! I filled up on salad and had to take the rest of my meal home. There is never a wait and the waiter was very attentive. Service was quick and the prices are reasonable. Great job!

Well, we still frequent Aunt Julie’s about once a week. This time, I had the 6 ounce filet and asked for it to be prepared without any salt and I asked for a plain, dry baked potato. Everything came out perfectly. The flavor of my steak was awesome, as the char from the grill gave it the perfect flavor, even for those who are watching their salt intake. My boyfriend ordered a 12 ounce ribeye and a loaded baked potato. His meal was excellent as well. They’ve started adding a few more things to the salad bar ‘wagon’ and business has started picking up. We are huge fans and really hope to get the word out about how good it is so Aunt Julie’s can break the curse of this location and offer awesome food for years to come.

Honey, call Cookie! I found the chuckwagon! It’s been made into a salad bar at Julie’s Country Kitchen. Sad excuse for a salad but luckily the Ranch Dressing(good but oh… so bad) covered it up. If you are looking to clog your arteries… by God head RIGHT over to Julie’s. The Carne Guisada was literally chopped up steak swimmin’ in Cumin-drenche brown gravy. Ewwwww… I should have known better than to order Mexican food at a steakhouse. All of the fried items were pretty average. Again… anything dipped in that Ranch dressing would be good. If they put some«healthier» items on the menu I would probably go back. But for now I’ll let the guys go get steak and carbs. That location they are in has bad Karma. No restaurant has survived there for very long. I wish them luck.

I give the place 3 months. The food is slightly better than IHOP and Dennys down the street. And it took forever to get my chicken fried steak. I was the only one in the place durning the lunch hour last week, I dont see cars there EVER. Maybe Round Rock knows better

We did a return visit for breakfast. I had a chick-fried steak omelette, a first ever for me. The waiter actually remembered us from our previous visit. My partner thought the migas were OK. They needed more cheese. I asked for a side of gravy for my omelette. Not salty like the previous visit. The place was pretty empty. Hopefully business will pickup. 3rd visit. Very disappointed. The salt is back. All of the food was very salty. The mushrooms were not as fresh as they were on the 1st visit. I am not sure if we are going to return for a 4th visit.

Aunt Julies is a new, old school type, steak house/diner. Salad bar, Texas toast, sweet tea, vinyl checkered table cloths, parsley on the plate, etc. Our group of 6 had a variety of menu items. Starting with potato skins and onion rings(both the best we’ve ever had) and entrees ranging from catfish, steaks, and chicken fried steak. Everyone commented on how good the food was. We found ourselves sharing off of each other’s plates. Even the sweet tea made an impression on us. We are so looking forward to coming again. Going to have to try the Mexican food menu next time. Side orders are pretty much limited to potatoes but they are prepared 5 or 6 different ways. 1000 Island dressing is homemade and excellent. Only improvement that would make me happier is to offer soup on the salad bar and a few more vegetable for sides.

Throw me overboard and run me over with a Choo Choo Train; the wife suggests we go back to Aunt Julie’s Steakhouse tonight. Bumbling bumble bee I agreed! I added pictures this time, quickly I ordered the country fried steak with small new potatoes and a salad; my wife ordered the chicken fried chicken with sweet potatoes and a salad. We had a small basket of onion rings for an appetizer. We liked it all. Thumbs up! Dan the owner came by and we had a nice talk about how he got started and how he stated his three restaurants. I enjoyed the talk and told him we would be back again. I forgot tonight they were playing Rock Christmas music.
