We were so impressed! Love the bar. The potato chips with bacon & blue cheese was great.

Delicious food and cozy environment! And absolutely beautiful pub setting. I really enjoyed the food. Everything seemed like it had a pinch of curry in it, which was an unexpected delicious surprise. Great place to hang with friends, or bring a date.

I came to this bar last night and it was super packed. They let us in and we tried to go upstairs. There was a guy regulating how many people could go upstairs(which is understandable if they were at capacity) but he was super rude about it. He gave me a dirty look and started picking on our group and told us there was a bar right here(downstairs). I completely understand if they need to regulate the number of people but don’t be a jerk about it! Needless to say my friends and I didn’t get a drink and just ended up leaving. They need to tell that guy to be nicer to paying customers. I definitely won’t be back.

Sometimes the food waivers but mostly good. This is the best late night venue in Roswell. The have the best staff and make a great Black Velvet. Love hanging out and listening to music or having a pint upstairs in the porch. A must see.

I love this pub. They feature actual Irish specialties along with burgers(which are great) and daily specials. It’s clear there’s an actual chef behind their menu. The waitstaff is friendly and it’s typically no problem finding a table. We’ve never been disappointed here.

Smells terrible and the food is over priced and crummy. Worst part was going there to pick up my card from leaving it there the night before and the manager guy was extremely rude and unprofessional. Will not spend my money here ever again.

I love this place for a late night drink… its pretty much the only non-smoking bar thats open late in Roswell. Staff is fantastic and theres a huge selection of craft beer and whiskey(just what I’m looking for) atmosphere is perfect for a historic town like Roswell, really takes ya back! The only reason why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because its too dang bright upstairs at night… I wish they would just dim the light a tad! Its almost a buzz kill going from the cozy downstair tavern to the much large but WAY too bright upstairs bar. It always feels like last call up there… thats my one request DIMTHELIGHTS :) other than that, keep doing what you do!

Went last night(10÷3÷15) with my Fiancée on our first night experiencing downtown Roswell and what it has to offer. Have to say, extremely and totally disappointed with this location. We have enjoyed the Decatur location several times, but everything about this one is wrong. Drinks: Beer and whiskey list extremely lacking compared to Decatur location. Ended up getting a «campfire mule» which tasted like a soapy glass mixed with ashtray. Not sure if that’s the fault of the restaurant or the ingredients though. The beer my fiancée was recommended was a Gate City belgian which was pretty awful and lacking in all the ways a belgian style ale should be. Food: Absolutely awful. We ordered the bacon wrapped dates and Chicken 65 as apps, but decided not to order any dinner after the experience. The chicken came out dull and lukewarm and looked like it had been sitting out for over 15 minutes before making it to us. The curry sauce was under-spiced, goopy and covering chicken that was NOT fully cooked. I tried two small pieces but couldn’t stomach more. The bacon wrapped dates were burnt to small crisps, but my fiancée stomached a few down due to hunger. Service: Okay at best. The waitress clearly didn’t know what to do about people not enjoying their food. However, the food isn’t the waitresses problem so I can understand, Service was fairly slow(it was not crowded) but again, that’s hard to say if it’s a management issue or the fault of the particular servers. There seemed to be a miscommunication with management, as after we had paid and were leaving, a manager finally came over and spoke to us but had no idea we had already paid. He did take the Chicken 65 and Mule that we didn’t eat/drink off the check, but had to run back and cash out since the waitress had already completed our payment. Honestly, the manager seemed embarrassed and defeated. He nodded in agreement about the quality of the food. Props to him for coming over and trying to make it right though. After dinner: It was an unpleasant, but not unexpected, experience to come home a few hours later and end the night and begin today between the toilet and the bucket. Extreme food poisoning issues for me, according to the local urgent care. I’d be wary of any chicken product they carry, as I’m 90% certain that was the culprit. All in all just a terrible experience. If you want to try a Mac McGees, hit up the one in Decatur. This one clearly suffers from some management and kitchen issues that could result in you praying the the porcelain gods as I did. Don’t make my mistakes.

The only reason I am giving this place two stars is because they have good beers on draft and a good selection of whiskeys. The service is slow and there seems to be a long wait for food. Tonight, however, the waitress assumed she was getting a $ 5 tip on a $ 15 tab. That was for one round of two beers… it was a bit pretentious. She never brought back change and then came back empty handed asking if we needed change when we were sitting with two empty glasses. We figured if it took as long to get change as it did to get the check it would not be worth it, so she keep the extra cash. I always leave unhappy with the service and staff, but come back for the beer. You would think I would learn my lesson, but until another pub opens up, it seems I tend to go back since there is never a wait for a table.

Magee’s is a really, really good little pub with plenty of good options for eats and drinks and a heft of authenticity to boot. The environment is pretty fantastic — wood paneling, Irish folk music much of the time(sometimes live, which is awesome), Celtic trinkets and decorations from a bygone Victorian age. You’ll feel right at home even if its your first visit. The bar is fairly full, but leans in a Gaelic direction of course — lots of stouts and reds and heavy lagers. There are plenty of non-beer choices too from scotch to whiskey to rum and I even see people drinking wine in there(though I have no clue why you would come to a pub to drink wine). The food is even better. They make a mean scotch egg and the sausage roll is insanely good. The fish and chips are a solid choice too — a nice big piece of fish deep fried in soft batter. The fries are even great! Check out the specials too! They’re usually legitimately special. The staff are always friendly and generally laid back. Don’t go there if you’re in a hurry. They’ll take good care of you, but at a leisurely pace. Don’t skip out on desserts either. They’re often made in-house and worth the trip alone. If I had any draw-backs, I would say the weekend crowds can be a little annoying. The usually quiet pub can occasionally become a haven for college kids who just want to pound beers. The other issue is running out of items. I understand and appreciate seasonal dishes, but when something is popular, plan around that. They’ve been out of the sausage rolls the last 2 times I was there and the last time, they told us that they only had 1 fish and chips left. Who runs out of fish and chips at a pub? Don’t let that dissuade you though. It’s worth putting up with some minor disturbances. If you’re in Roswell and like traditional pubs, this is a winner.

Food was great but waiter was the best part-a cool cat from the Midwest. Love when your server knows what they are talking about and when they actually enjoy their job!

My buddy and I came in for after work drinks, and I was pleasantly surprised. It’s pretty solid bar with a great beer, whiskey, and food assortment. The ambiance was relatively quiet, and slowly started to pick up as the night continued. It has a huge open bar space downstairs, seating upstairs, and two patios — outside and a nice balcony where we sat. Their beverage program is impressive. Great assortment of beers on tap at the perfect temp, beer/whiskey flights, and a good assortment of cocktails. Our bartenders were polite and attentive. Our waitress was fantastic, had a great sense of humor and offered great suggestions on what to eat since it was a our first time there. She wasn’t overbearing and it seemed like she knew were were there to chill out. The food was a solid B+. I had the Rueben, and while it was good, it wasn’t great. It had more of a luncheon meat texture and taste, even though it was presented nicely with a tasty side salad. I guess I was expecting more of a thinly sliced traditional brisket style corned beef. My buddy raved about his sliders and loved his scotch egg. Overall, it wasn’t too bad, and it was less congested and touristy than some of the other places I’ve been to on Canton St.

This place is very shady and if you’re brave enough to risk going here, you should look closely at your check before you pay. And the service was awful. Although we had no trouble getting seated or ordering, our server disappeared after the food arrived and did not refill drinks or ask if we needed anything. No, they were not busy. When the check came, we noticed that we had been overcharged. We were charged extra TWICE for items that were supposed to have been included with the meal. After asking the server about the discrepancy between the menu and our bill, she stated we were mistaken and didn’t offer a refund or any other corrective action. She looked at us with a straight face and expected us to overpay and walk out the door. So I asked to see a menu. I looked at the menu again to verify what came with the meal and the pricing and pointed it out to the server, who still failed to acknowledge her mistake. After I asked to speak with a manager, she disappeared again for 5 minutes before finally returning with a refund and no apology or explanation as to why we were overcharged. Why pay for terrible service?

Our first time at Macs. I would give this place another star if both our desserts weren’t disappointing. Came in on a Friday night and enjoyed 2 signature cocktails a cucumber melon one and a peach one. Cocktails were great. Ordered the potato, chicken and leek crêpe and it was on point! Delicious. Crêpe was nice and moist and just overflowing with melted leeks and perfectly cooked chicken, paired with a nice crisp arugula salad. Dessert however. We were celebrating my birthday so we ordered the Guinness cupcake and the crème brûlée. Guinness cupcake was dry and crumbly. Seemed stale and over warmed to the point where is was like chalk in Our mouths. Crème brûlée was over torched giving it a disgusting after taste and the top crust was so hard we had to literally break it to even taste it. Atmosphere was fun, live music, large crowd. The a/c doesn’t work very well ESPECIALLY downstairs so it’s like a heat wave of body odor.

I really, really hate to give this 1 star, so I hope you’ll read why … I’m just so annoyed after my experience here tonight. It was our first time & while the décor is super cool and the atmosphere is fun, the service made me leave wayyy sooner than we had planned. It’s also excessively loud, but that’s not a factor in the rating, just an FYI. We were waited on right away, so that wasn’t the problem. What just makes me wanna scream is that I asked about the free check in popcorn and the waiter said«it should be fine, but let me get my manager just to ensure»… Never did the guy come back. We saw him running around to other tables & passed by us multiple times, but he didn’t come back to us until we had finally had enough and I flagged him down for our check. We were planning to get our free popcorn and a few more drinks, but we were so displeased with the service that we just decided to leave. And after I requested the check, it still took another 5 – 10 minutes just to get that. We didn’t try any food, so I can’t review that, but we wanted to try it!!! Ugh, so annoyed because this place had great reviews otherwise. Maybe we just got a fluke dude. RUde anyway. We will return to give it another try because of the great reviews & I’ll report back then.

Everything was great!!! Amazing service, scotch egg was superb. Chicken app and burger were top notch. The ambiance reminded me of London pubs and was relaxed and fun. We will be back many times.

It’s awesome sitting outside, having a Harp and their amazing blue cheese and bacon chips. Our dog is welcome street level and the chips are to die for. People watching is great here too. Lastly, I love the fact they commit to making everything from scratch and use local vendors for as much as possible.

I’m not in Roswell often but I’m glad I found this little hidden gem! The atmosphere is extremely comfortable in the booths. Prices are very reasonable. Curry chips(slight kick) and lamb appetizer are better than I even imagined. Great service! I wanted to keep this place my secret. Hehe.

How cool is this place??? Totally LOVEIT! The small little«prayer booth» in the corner downstairs with the direct window to the bartender is just out of this world! This little area had my imagination running! They also have so many different seating lay-out, and it is just absolutely fun and entertaining. The upstairs bar is also quite impressive, and the outside patio seating definitely lives up to that new Orleans-like vibe this area gives off. Now, I was only able to try a beer, and it was bottled beer so there’s nothing much that I can say about that. BUT! my friends did speak highly of their food — so, I plan to come back and try a meal, and see where it goes … perhaps a friendship between myself and this place is in the works. Our bartender for the evening was also very fun and upbeat. I just wish we lived closer to this place so that we can spend more time here! but all in all, me likey. — most definitely a cool place to hang out… and I am yet to try their food!

The food here is «meh» but love the wide selection of beer and the bartenders are great. Love the atmosphere and casual setting. I come here to drink, not for dinner. Update: I came in to drink, ordered a Restoration Brewery beer with my friend who is the wife of the owner of Restoration. They were charging $ 8 …for a HALF pint.(Which wasn’t stated on menu). We asked why it was a half pour for so much, they tried to tell us it was cause it’s a high gravity beer,(Cadence is NOT high gravity) and then when we corrected him he made some excuse and left. Not cool, McGees!
