This is a great place and keeps getting better. The main floor has an excellent selection of good books, tasty luncheon menu and good beer and wine. The lower floor, opening soon, will have a bar and a super space for meeting, eating and chatting. Can’t imagine a better place for happy hour and in Roslyn!

Exactly as the name says. Roslyn is surrounded by hiking and biking trails and the Basecamp is the perfect place to stock up on snacks and drinks before a hike or ease ease a weary body with a couple of cocktails afterwards. Friendly staff have always taken good care of us since the place opened just a few months ago. Only missed five star because I think the book selection needs to expand a bit. But the place IS new and I expect this will happen soon.

This is my new favorite place! The book selection is well curated, the grocery supplies are perfect for outdoor adventures, the food is delicious, the interior design is lovely(forest service-green espresso machine!), and the customer service is super friendly and helpful. The owner gave us great tips on where to snowshoe(go to the Roslyn Urban Forest if you’re seeking beauty and solitude on the edge of town). We ordered the grilled cheese sandwich and the arugula and quinoa salad, both of which were excellent. The oatmeal and molasses cookies are homemade and perfect. For a treat, get a glass of prosecco! The atmosphere is the perfect mix of beautiful and functional design, vintage yet modern, cozy and full of light. This trip inspired my wife and I to make this area(Roslyn and the Teanaway) our focus for exploring this year, so we will definitely be back soon.

Great ambiance, though service was lackluster. Was in there 10 minutes and didn’t get greeted it acknowledged once. When we went to order drink, they pretty much ignored us :(

I’m so happy to have been able to get 99% of my Christmas shopping done in Roslyn this year and much of it has been done here. I have a family who are outdoorsy, avid hikers and love to read so Basecamp is a huge score for me. I’ve bought a couple fun camp-site games, survival skills playing cards, items made with bike chain… and some books I know my brothers will love to dive into. On one wish list was a travel mug, lightweight, BPA free and I found the perfect one at Basecamp. What an unexpected treat to get my shopping done local.

It’s finally here. .. Base Camp Books and Bites is the perfect balance of comfort, quality and variety from books to bites. An open and warm atmosphere, a wide book selection for adults to children, outdoor enthusiasts to arm chair explorers. layered with unique and special mementos or gift items. And then the food. .. we ordered a variety of items to sample the flavors of the menu. The items were locally sourced, simply prepared and delicious; accompanied by a smooth cup of coffee. .. what more could we ask for? Also available were light grocery items fit for a day pack. We will be back to sample the beer and wine. And on a final note, this was their first day open, things were flowing smoothly, everyone was friendly and service was great. Can’t wait for the next experience!

Cozy bookstore and café! We checked it out on their opening day. The interior is charming, the coffee is good, and the staff are friendly. Bonus: they’re trying to get set up to issue hiking/backpacking permits, which could come in handy if the ranger station is closed on weekends.
