Excellent food. Great service and service with a smile. Food is nice and hot. Smells great and delicious too. The seafood dinner is one of my favorites and the crabcake sandwich is to die for lol… head on over to Simcos

Used to be a customer of Simco’s in Mattapan Sq for decades. Had few complaints on their hot dogs. Really; how can you mess up a hot dog? Went to the Roslindale location tonight and ordered two hot dogs with onions, mustard and relish. Had to wait 25 minutes and remind them I’m waiting(there was no one in front of me); and when the dogs were ready, I was disappointed. The dogs tasted like they had been waiting around for someone to buy them the entire day, and they were tasteless. If it weren’t for the condiments, they would have been. Tasted like they were cooked in old oil or grease as well. Am I going to go back to Simco’s? Would you!!!

Used to come here in high school when we skipped school, so I had top drop by since I was in the neighborhood. For memory sake it was nostalgic. But the food isn’t what I remembered. Got a hot dog meal with onion rings for 7 bucks. The hot dog was burnt and tasted like it was cooked and kept warm for a day or two. And the onion rings were oily, bland pieces of cardboard. And I got a sore throat. But will I drop in again in 10 years? You bet!!!

decent food, decent service, expensive prices. they have a huge variety on the menu and everything is cooked to order. the employees are the same after all the years I’ve been coming here so it shows there dedication to what they do and there food shows it, the place will not blow ur socks off but it’s just another average Italian food shop. the bads are that they only take cash(it’s 2014 stop being cheap and take credit) and that they have no paper menu’s printed to take home. they only have a plastic menu for u to look at and take back. once again stop being so god damn cheap and print some paper menus for people to take home

Expensive as phuck this place is really good but a lil pricey. Hotdogs(beef) are bomb and probably the cheapest thing there LOL(I’m serious tho). No matter what you order w/e u remove from the plate doesn’t make it cheaper. For example: Seafood plate, I don’t like the fish(think it’s haddock) so I always remove it from my plate, I still pay the regular price of $ 20.58. Don’t get me wrong its a lot of food and can even be spilt between two people BUT of course they’re cheep with the shrimp and its still only one plate of food

this was my first visit to simco’s, the ordering process was unorganized, there was no clear line, everyone else there seemed like regulars and understood how it worked. I ordered a hotdog basket w/onion rings and the onion rings tasted like fish I assume they cook them in the same oil(I hate fish). the hot dog wasn’t bad but I don’t think I would go back again.

I have not been here in several months, but I used to be assigned to this area and I came here for lunch regularly. I almost always get the hot dogs. I love hot dogs, and these are the best you can buy. The dogs and buns are both grilled, and they butter the buns. I’ve also had the fries and burgers, which were very good, and the onion rings and fried clams were excellent. The fried clams were an impulse buy, I’m a seafood fanatic and I especially like fried clams, I will not eat mediocre fried clams, so I had second thoughts about not ordering my usual hot dog. To my surprise, Simco’s fried clams were excellent. Not cheap, but top notch. If you don’t mind getting them window service, these were about as good as you can get anywhere. I had a bad dog at Simco’s Blue Hill Ave location yesterday. I’ve been to this Roslindale location ten times more often than BHA, and never been disappointed, so I feel compelled to write this well deserved five star review because I wrote a poor review on the BHA location.

I remember going over to Simco on the Bridge many years ago on Blue Hill Ave, You go there for hot dogs. I know that there are other things on the menu but when you see a giant dog as part of the signage, well that’s a clue. Fries and onions rings were good, And the fish plates were not bad either. The dogs are not the very best in boston, but they are good.
I LOVE Simco’s. And I think I always will. First, I should tell you my parents went to the Mattapan Simco’s on their first date(after seeing The Godfather) and have been together ever since, so Simco’s is part of my history. My family says as long as the boyfriend and I don’t go after watching The Godfather that we are safe from marriage(until we don’t want to be safe from that anymore). The Simco’s crew know us when we call and laugh at us bearing the outdoor service style in the middle of winter for cold sundaes. I am a huge ice cream fanatic, and can’t go more than a week without getting a sundae from Simco’s. Oreo with hot fudge, nuts, whipped cream, and cherries. The quality is superb and the size substantial. I wouldn’t go here for pizza, and the chicken tenders and fries use to be amazing, but they changed the chicken and it’s fairly dry now. More hard breading than chicken. However, the hot dogs, burgers, onion rings, raspberry lime rickeys, gyros, and meatball subs(to name a few) are well worth the trip(even in cold weather).

Great Hot Dogs! I get them with onions, ketchup, mustard, and relish. Their hamburgers aren’t that bad just a lil dry. They also have decent fish plates as well. All in all i have been coming here since they opened and will continue to eat here! I actually ate there today ;) The area is fine I’ve seen worse areas to get food.

good hotdogs. But the blonde woman who works there is nutz, impatient and yells when I’m standing right at the window. And just because it’s part of the ‘hood’ doesn’t mean it’s dicey or weird. I’ve been coming there since they opened several years ago and everybody there is there to get food!!!

Now I agree the area can get dicey sometimes, but let me throw in my two cents, the hot dogs are sublime. The buttered and grilled roll is simply awesome. I want one right now. Their fried seafood offering aren’t all that bad either

This place is an institution. Of what I am not sure. Despite the fact that I am literally scared by their food, I continue to think about how I should go back. In all seriousness, be alert at night because this area can get a little weird. Their specialty is hot dogs, and I was really surprised to see a fairly large menu– if you are feeling like an adventure through their freezer!
