Loved this. I came in for a fresh cup of coffee and was not disappointed. I loved the family feel and the organic and fresh bread made my mouth water. I’ll have to come back to try more of the food selection. Everyone was friendly and the atmosphere was so laid back and comfortable.

I wish they had a larger selection. They really are good at what they offfer would love to see then bursting with. Business. It’s a great little place with potential. Good location too! Look out Vernon street is waking up! You snooze you loose. Loved my flaky crust delights.

When I returned to Down Town Roseville today I spotted this bakery and decided to check it out; I was glad I did. I was offered samples of carrot cake that was very good, tender and moist and the first bite reminded me of ginger bread; I like ginger bread. I was also given a sample of something that was described as a cross between a croissant and a donut. It matters not what it is other than delicious; what a treat. Next time I am back in the area I know I will want to go back for more. Besides having teriffic pastry, they also make sandwiches.

We meet the in laws once a week and it is always at the Extreme Java Jungle Café which is next door. Sadly the jungle has shut down. We wandered next door to Rustic Grains. I wish we just would have left. I was introdued to the cronut and my mind has been blown. What the baker made was pure art. Ordered the chocolate granache cronut and it could not have been better.

Mixed review for me. My wife and I have been there 3 times now. All 3 times, we tried the pastries they were selling. To be honest, most of them are great. I say 75% of what we tried were works of a genius. The only downside is the price. The place is not cheap at all. We paid almost $ 6.00 for 2 pieces of small pastries. Don’t get me wrong, they were delicious, that’s why we came back. But, every time we left the place, we were sort of disappointed because of the price. So we’re still looking for a good pastry place around Roseville-great tasting and reasonable priced, we haven’t found it yet

Called the store on a Saturday morning to ask if they had any cronuts, only for the conversation to go as follows: Man: «Bakery.» Me: «Hi, good morning, what are your hours today?» Man: «Umm…we’re gonna close around 3.» Me: «Okay, and would you happen to have any cronuts in stock?» Man: *sigh* «Okay, yeah, but we only make so many, you know.» A real keeper. I asked my husband to swing by and order some since the conversation was such a buzz kill, and unfortunately, he had a similar story to report. He described the bakery as looking scummy/illegitimate and the man behind the counter, who I’m supposing was the same one I spoke with over the phone, as unprofessional(he was wearing drawstring pajama pants and a tattered t-shirt). The cronuts themselves continued this unfortunate theme. We ordered the chocolate and cinnamon sugar flavors and both tasted like they were made days earlier. The croissants tasted stale and a layer of oil had deposited on the bottom of them. Either the cronut craze is highly overrated or this place just doesn’t make them right(I’m banking on the latter). I truly, truly hate giving mom-and-pop stores bad reviews but it can’t be helped if they’re warranted. Future customers: Beware! I, for one, will obviously never venture back.

You can tell when you first walk in that it just open and is family run… We tried lunch here and had the chicken sandwich with pesto aioli on the wheat sourdough. It was so good! We were really impressed. While the sandwich was delicious, the Cronut was AMAZING! Simply heaven.

This rating would have been much higher had I not chosen to try their lunch food today and stuck with the loaf of bread I came in for… I came in for the first time when they first opened. I bought an amazingly fresh ciabatta loaf, and the owner offered me a dolma to try, which was delicious. I went back in today to grab a fresh loaf of bread, but decided to try some of their lunch items in the cold case. There were a couple of wraps in the cold case(like, the rice paper wrapped kind), and I selected the falafel one instead of avocado. I also got a side of marinated artichokes, and a pistachio baklava. When I was rung up, I thought $ 16 was kind of high, but I hadn’t really checked prices, so oh well. However, as I was packing up my car, the owner came out with the other wrap and said I had been charged for a full sandwich, so I could have the other wrap too. Ok great, so I went home to have my lunch. I just tried the wraps and they are not good. The rice paper wrapping was totally dried out and hard(which I couldn’t tell due to the cellophane over it) to the point that I couldn’t even eat it, and the veggies inside were limp. The avocado one was brown and did not look fresh inside. The artichokes were fine. I tried the baklava, and it is delicious! My advice would be to stick to the baked goods. The bread is fresh and yummy, and all of the pastries look great! If you’re trying lunch, get a sandwich, since I assume that would be freshly made. I just don’t get why they would sell me the wraps that were so obviously not fresh. It wasn’t apparent to me as I looked into the case, but when he unwrapped them to put them in the to-go box, it had to have been obvious that they were old. They should just make these things to order!

I was happy when I received a flier about this place, since there are not many bakeries in town. I have never written a negative review, but this place was terrible! Came in for a sandwich and all they offered was chicken salad sandwiches. The chicken salad wasn’t even made yet and many customers were waiting but left because it was taking too long. Guy working here was totally clueless! I ended up getting some cookies that were not marked with names or prices. The cookies were not very big but were $ 2 each, and not very good. Only had one type of bread available. They had«fresh squeezed orange juice» on the counter in big glass jar. I am pretty sure orange juice needs to be refrigerated? I wanted to support a local biz, but I would never return. I am shocked by all of the other 5 star reviews. Makes me wonder if those were friends of the owner…

I had the same problem as Herb H. though I wasn’t heartbroken. I wasn’t over here to buy bread… I was mainly in the area to enjoy Downtown Tuesday Night. Although if I could catch it open I might check it out… I do miss real bakery bread.

Historic Roseville. Small and family run. They had usual coffee fare written on the board but, when I came in, I was offered soup and sandwich and I gave it a try. Soup was homemade and really fantastic. Being a bakery, you have a great assortment of bread to choose from for your sandwich– also good. Such warm and caring type people running the place. It really makes you happy. I only would say I did not like the case doors open. That allows things like flies to get in the case and fly around pastries and such. Which it did. I-spied flies flying around inside the case and as much as I wanted to try the stuff in the case. the flies were a deterrent. Keep the case doors shut. As far as the soup and sandwich– I thought it was super great. They also make and sell granola along with, of course, bread.

What? a real bakery in Roseville? YESSS! They have opened in the old Roseville landmark sweet Dainty Bakery shop. I stopped in to check them out, was treated to many free samples and most of them were pretty great. The lentil soup was incredible. The variety of hand-made pastries is really wonderful, and the baker and his wife are super charming. Get down there and get some bread, or sandwiches, or soup or most definately some pastries. This is a seasoned baker doing it old-school and we are lucky to have this place here in suburbia-land.
