We ordered it at home through Bite Squad and it was delivered within an hour. The Carne Asada Tacos were really good. I loved the skirt steak. However, I’m not a big fan of sweet rice. My husband ordered the Carne Asada Fajitas. There were no shells that came with it when it arrived, but he enjoyed it. We will try them again.

This place is okay. But just okay. I work in the Rosedale mall and decided to check this place out on my lunch break. Luckily I happened to have a gift card, because this place is extremely over priced. I ordered a chopped salad(it has noodles in it. ??) and the avocado egg rolls. The egg rolls were really yummy, but in no way shape or form worth $ 12, Especially for the size. The salad was okay. Not too great, but i ate the whole thing. It tasted more Asian inspired than Mexican. All in all it cost me over $ 25, and thank god I had a gift card. I’m all for investing in a good lunch, but for that price I’d rather go somewhere else

I went to the Rosedale Rojo in December when they hadn’t been open very long and while the service wasn’t fantastic our waitress was friendly and the food was good so I really chalked it up to the fact that it was new and they still had some kinks to work out as you would with any new restaurant. That said, I’m happy to say that we went back yesterday and the service was much improved. Our server, DeAndre, was great — very knowledgeable and attentive. Our food came out quickly and everything was delicious! I will definitely be going back. Love the chicken enchiladas — definitely my favorite!

We tried this new place because we received a $ 20 coupon in the mail for it. Now I know why they have to get people in the door by bribing them. We were there during a very slow time and we each ordered the enchiladas. When I think of an enchilada, I think of something the general size of the standard burrito. Our enchiladas came in a sizzling hot cast iron pan the size of a slice of bread. The two enchiladas in each pan were the size of a small flauta They were about an inch thick and 6 inches long, but about 1 ½ inches on each end were dried out and inedible. There was about three tablespoons of filling and no cheese. The beans were very pale and tasted strongly of bacon grease. Neither of us could eat the beans. I am not used to paying $ 19 for less than ½ a cup of edible food, much less badly cooked food. We will not be returning.

We tried the burger. I know I know. But it was great. Unexpected in a Mexican restaurant but it was so good. The chimichanga wasn’t really that good(kinda mushy) I thought they were supposed to be deep fried. Staff was very friendly. Prices more than warranted.

Weird how people are dissing this place. It’s a perfectly respectable Mexican-American restaurant, if my first visit was any indication. I did read some folks complain about the service, so since I went by myself, I just sat at the bar. Bartender was right there to take my drink order and hand me a menu. Every place like this gives you chips & salsa. These were great chips, the thin kind, not like the tooth-challenging rough grind like you get at Ol Mexico. The salsa was really very good! I ordered the ground beef enchiladas. They came in a skillet, piping hot, with some very fine red gravy. My refried beans were a little lukewarm, but still very tasty. Basically a small side-dish of well-blended beans, topped with queso fresco. The enchiladas were sinfully delicious, and seasoned well enough that I didn’t need to add any salsa. Not a huge fan of the«sweet rice». I’d never encountered rice done that way — steamed, large rice and kernels of corn. I couldn’t identify where the sweet was coming from. If I hadn’t expected typical rice it may not have shocked me so much. It didn’t taste horrible, and that rice might be a nice accompaniment to masa pancakes. Just wasn’t expecting it. Prices were a bit elevated, but you have to expect that in a mall-based restaurant. All in all, I would eat there again. I’m curious to try some of their other dishes. The menu seems overly-heavy on burgers and other sports-bar fare, but again, it’s a mall restaurant. If Mom, Dad and the kids are out shopping, maybe Dad wants something spicy and corn-filled, but the kids don’t like cheese or something, plenty of burgers on the menu for them. Give it a shot, sez I! And sit at the bar if you’re in a hurry.

Well this was our first time coming and sadly will not be returning. We waited and waited for our drinks to arrive. My husband’s beer arrived and I continued to wait another 10 minutes for my lemonade. Then we waited another 20 minutes for our food order to be taken and 30+ minutes for the food to arrive. When the food arrived my order was wrong but we needed to hurry so I did eat it. The chimichanga was marginal. I ordered shredded beef and got what was cubed chicken instead. I enjoyed the sweet rice but my husband did not. The refried beans were not good. He had the enchilada which was swimming in red sauce. He thought it ok but they forgot his side of sour cream. We will stick with Las Margeritas from now on. Very disappointed.

My husband, sister-in-law, nieces and I recently stopped at Rojo for a drink and some appetizers. Maybe they are still training since they’ve only been open a few weeks or they were under staffed but the service was horrible. It was around 1:30 as the lunch rush was finishing up. We were seated quickly and put in our order for Margaritas. The waitress brought us chips and salsa right away and things went downhill from there. We waited at least 20 minutes and when she stopped back to take our order we informed her we didn’t get our drinks yet. She had to go to the bar and put the order in, another 10 minutes. When our appetizers arrived they didn’t bring us plates so we had to flag down the waitress for plates. I had the beergarita, which was really good. The chicken quesadillas were also good. Their guacamole has no flavor. As we were finishing our drinks, my sister-in-law found a piece of glass in her margarita, it came up through the straw. Luckily she didn’t swallow it. They did comp our round of drinks due to that.

Maybe we got there on a good night but, we had great service! I’ve been to the other Rojo’s and the food is just as good! Yes, some things need improvement, but it is very new so I’m definitely giving them another try! They could use valet parking on busy nights but overall we had a very good experience!

Having just recently opened, perhaps Rojo is currently understaffed, but our service left much to be desired. Our server forgot drinks and left us waiting to order for over thirty minutes. We rarely saw our server, even at other tables. We finally stopped another server who did not seem thrilled to take our order and pick up another server’s work. I ordered tortilla soup, which was essentially cheese dip. It was very thick and there were no distinguishable flavors beyond the cheese. This cost $ 7.50. The other orders at our table(chimichanga and cheese crisps) got mixed reviews, as did the sides that they came with(sweet rice and refried beans). One person in our group did say it was the best chimichanga he ever had, but the other three of us did not agree. Overall, we were underwhelmed and will likely not return, especially given the prices as compared to the quality and portions.

My husband and I really wanted to like this place. They updated the old macaroni grill, it was clean and bright. The server was friendly and polite. The chips and salsa came, we were delighted with the flavor. Unfortunately that’s where the delight ended. We ordered, the house specialty, a slow roasted pork in a savory tomato sauce, it came with sweet rice and retried beans, I had the lobster tacos on flour tortillas also with the beans and sweet rice. And a side of fresh guacamole. Sounds good. The fresh guacamole need salt(they don’t have salt on the tables) ok that’s a personal thing, however my husband got the hard end on the avacado not once but twice, they are hard as a rock about the size of a large pea. Which the server saw me holding at the end of the meal. Asked did you find that in your food? Oh yes. He remarked that he would tell someone as they would want to know… when he returned to take our card he wouldn’t look at us passed as quickly as he could and mumbled a brief«I’m sorry about that» to the floor. No comp at all. Now as for the pork, the first thing that happened is my husband fished out a double set of bay these are not to be eaten, first the«rocks» then these. The sauce was bitter and spicy but not with a good flavor. More like tomato sauce with a whole can of chile powder dumped in. The refrained beans we both had were insipid no flavor at all. The sweet rice billed as having grilled corn cilantro onions. Sounds interesting. Was just awful. It had a ton of sugar you could see the corn the cilantro but the sugar just overpowered it all. My lobster tacos came on a sugar cookie size flour tortilla, 3 on the plate the lobster was deep fried(not mentioned in the description) barely had any resemblance to the afore mentioned lobster. Well you get the idea. On the way out a sweet lady asked us about our meal($ 80 with the tip.) We said awful. She asked do you want to talk to the manager. «No» after the guacamole rock we new what he would say. So we say“won’t be back.”

Cold food, mediocre service, over priced for the portions you receive. Won’t be back.

Brand new location — I had such high expectations, and yet I find myself so very disappointed. I’ve visited Rojo in Edina and loved it; however this location is failing to meet up with the standards set by the other locations. They appear under staffed and although it’s not super busy(plenty of open seating) we waited 25 minutes for drinks while we watched other tables that came in after us get served first. When we inquired about another server or table because of the slow service the hostess claims it’s a 20 minute wait. Yet as I stand here there is at least 5 open tables. The waitress finally showed up to take our order. I’m hoping the food matches the quality at the other locations, but I’m already having my doubts.
