This is the best pawn shop I’ve ever been too. I was shopping for some new music equipment and I was on a tight budget. This store actually had really good prices on their music equipment! I forgot the guy that helped me outs name, but he really worked out some great deals for the budget I was on. Very clean store, as well. I’ll definitely be back!

I promised myself I would never go into a Pawn shop again! most past experiences were degrading, desperate, embarrassing, situations, mostly troubles of my own making. It always seemed that the individual or individuals sensed fear and desperation and fed on that as their strength to some how take advantage and low ball even the most obviously fair market value. Not this place!.. I brought in a my favorite high brand name guitar and was just hoping to get a loan to cover the rest of my rent. They were polite, considerate, professional and most of all fair. They looked over the guitar, went online and did their homework, and to my surprise gave me the what I asked for. But most importantly they treated me with respect!.Thanks Capital City for restoring hope that people do generally care in some pawn shops.:))

In October of 2015 I placed a $ 5000 ring on lay away. The down payment was 10%. Approximately a week later I found a private seller who had a ring of much better quality at a much better price. I then began to travel for work and it slipped my mind that I had placed the deposit on the other ring at the pawn shop. On Jan 5th2015 I found the receipt and thought I would return to the shop and see if I could apply the $ 500 to another item as I was still in the market for a wedding band. Prior to arriving I reviewed the receipt and saw a disclosure that stated the payments needed to be made monthly and if any payments were missed the money I already paid would be used as a restocking fee, no refunds. I thought surely there must be an exception to the rule, and I do not want my money back, I just want credit or a portion of my $ 500 as credit. Upon entering the store I spoke with the clerk who stated that there was no exception and my money was lost. I asked for a manager and the manager also gave me the same info with no exceptions. His only offer was that I pay $ 1000 to reinstate the lay away. At this point continuing to pay was not feasible as I already purchased a ring. This is a very unfair business practice and should be further investigated on its legality. Imagine how many people lose their money after months of paying on an item and at some point cannot pay for a month or two. In this transaction the store basically made $ 500 to place an item in the back of their store for a month. They call it a restocking fee, this is a joke. How much does it really cost to restock a ring? Are they paying their staff $ 500 a minute? Otherwise it’s pure highway robbery. I would caution anyone who is considering doing business with this place. A business like this has no interest in keeping a customer happy and trying to work with the community. I will be contacting the chamber of commerce, better business bureau, the news, and any other entity that needs to know.

What retail business closes at 6 these days? Why even stay open until then? Why not just close at 4pm? Half of this area works 9 – 5, takes a while to get where you are going because of traffic and then you try to make it to a place during their open hours, show up at 5:55, open sign is off, doors locked, lights off. Lame. Won’t be trying to return and will flag all craigslist posts I come across. If you post hours, stay open. Beware, 2 of the 3 of their top reviews are from people that it is their ONLY review.

just got my bike out of pawn. im 67, female, and disabled and ask for help putting it in my truck. a young man reluctantly took it outside but complained that they are«not supposed» to help carry things out. We got it in bed of truck but it was standing and he complained so much i said id do it myself. he left and i did. not worthy of any prizes!!! —— separate issue on a statue i had there also. it came up for renewal several months ago and ill admit they sent me a notice. i went in maybe 5 days past the due date to try to retrieve it. i have hard time getting around and practically live in bed. that day i kept getting the run around and then someone finally admitted they had broken it. these are from a well known maker and«valued» around $ 350, more in better days. most of them are at least two feet tall. im happy they told me the truth, but would they have told me if i arrived on time to pick it up. and when was it broken. guess they lucked out and it was a win win for«them, them». they arent overall as mean and sleasy as their auburn blvd. store. but same owner for both stores. there is one other store on watt ave and don julio owned by someone else unfortunately same store name. this other«gentleman» mike, who i eventually took all my stuff to before retrieving all back(yeah)!!! is consistantly a kind hero. does honest honest business. he has nothing to do with these other stores. couldnt say enough good about him!!!

A gentlemen there helped me with a ring. He was polite, honest and extremely helpful. I wouldn’t go anywhere else if he has what you need.
