My review, just for coffee… iced latte to be specific. Friendly staff, and they made a pretty good iced drink for a hot summer day. A nice change of pace from the corporate chains.

Guys, what happened here? Last time I was here 6 months ago or so it was busy, I had a delicious tea, and the breakfast sandwich was quite tasty. Now it’s deserted, pretty sure they’re using powdered iced tea, and the breakfast sandwich is made with a frozen egg Patty. That’s annoying but I think the tea bit grinds my gears the most. If you’re a coffee shop, is it so hard to just brew up a bunch of tea and chill it beforehand?

Great coffee, good food, and good location, but have to give it a one star based on the hours that they are open. It’s a shame that they have shunned their regular evening customers so they can close at 3pm every day for«special events».

It’s never fun needing to get a new license. And it’s not fun when one hasn’t had her coffee beforehand. I usually head over to the DMV in Roseville, as the location is less crazy than the others around town, and stumbled onto Café Zia this time. The owners were pleasant to chat with. I enjoyed my post-new license breakfast and the coffee was good! It’sa unique nook of a shop in the suburban-feeling Roseville. And it seems that they are already doing a brisk business. I hope to see them there next time.

Just finished lunch at Café Zia. The atmosphere and décor were pretty nice. I agree with the previous reviews about it being relaxing. The servers were also friendly and helpful. I had a simple lunch, the Hoagie. That sandwich contains: Prosciutto, Genoa salami, capicola, provolone, mild giardinara, garlic aioli. The flavor of the sandwich was good, but I did not love it. I would go back to Café Zia and get something else. I do not want to give the impression I did not like the sandwich, I did. I just did not love it. Solid lunch option for Roseville/Northeast suburbs.

Café Zia, what a chillaxing place! It has a downtown café feel but can be found in the Northern suburbs. They have all the healthy comfort foods I could ever want. I really enjoyed their grilled cheese bites(with rich, creamy tomato soup sauce), their meatball bites, and caprese Panini with fresh basil. I think I could park myself in one of their comfy chairs and happily camp out for quite a while. From the servers, kitchen staff, live band that was playing(Porch Pickers — who play most Thursday nights), everyone was so incredibly nice. When I was leaving, I felt a bit like Dorothy when she was giving her goodbyes at emerald city. This place is truly a find.

This is a nice little place, that I found quite relaxing for a lunch break from work. The inside is extremely clean and there is plenty of seating. The staff that I encountered were both friendly and helpful. They came around to ask how everything was, so they have the hospitality down pat. I’m not much of a coffee drinker, so this review will primarily be in regards to the food. I ordered the Messy Giuseppe sandwich which is described as being an Italian style Sloppy Joe — basically more of a tomato flavor. The sandwich itself was a good portion size and without giving a feeling of being overly full. While I enjoyed the sandwich, I felt it could use a bit of a kick — maybe some ground Italian sausage, red pepper flake, or hot Italian peppers in the mix would be the answer. It’s good, but needs a bit something to be great. What doesn’t need something to be great is the pumpkin bar I ordered for a sweet treat. For $ 2, the bar was probably 4″ by 4″ and absolutely delicious. Sometimes I find the frosting on pumpkin bars to be a bit too rich; but like the baby bear’s bowl of porridge, this one was just right! Apparently, they occasionally have live music in the evenings, so I will have to check that out and add on to my review as well. Check out Café Zia, it’s a nice little spot.

A cozy coffee shop tp be sure. My wife, college daughter and I stopped in for a quick brunch. We all shared a fabulous pumpkin bar as an appetizer. Two of us had the French Toast breakfast sandwich; its got eggs, cheese and sausage between two thick slices of cinnamon swirl bread. Too rich to eat every day, but was it ever yummy. We have been here before and will be baxk again.

This place would be a four star— if it weren’t for the location. We had a groupon for this cute sandwich shop, and decided to use it the other day when we were out running errands in Roseville. It was empty in the café, except for two people ordering to go in front of us. We decided to stay and eat, as they have an outdoor sidewalk patio. They have several great sandwich options, or you can do a BYO sandwich, which is what we both did. I had ciabatta with turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and garlic aioli. It was pretty tasty. It all tasted fresh, the bacon had a unique flavor I couldn’t quite put my finger on. My boyfriend enjoyed his sandwich as well. Service was a little slow, but very pleasant and friendly. The café was very clean and new looking, and offers everything from coffee to paninis. It’s just a shame that this nice little sandwich shop is stuck in an unappealing, off the beaten path, strip mall setting. I would’ve never known it existed if it wasn’t for Groupon. I doubt we will be back, just because it is so out of the way, but if I get a serious sandwich craving, who knows? If you happen to be nearby, def. give it a try.

I hate to say this, but I was pretty disappointed with Café Zia. I got the Turkey Cobb to go which was really good, but I didn’t think it was anything out of this world where I absolutely have to go back and get. The inside was really smokey which I thought would be kind of annoying if I were to sit inside and eat, or was trying to get work done. I thought the staff was really friendly and helpful, and prices were very creasonable, my sandwich cost me a little less than $ 7 and I got the choice of chips or salad with my sammy. Since this is close to where I work I will probably give Café Zia another try and check out other items they have to offer.

This is our new hangout. I found it when I was renewing my license tabs(the license place for Roseville is next door) and what makes the DMV bearable? Lattes. That and comfy chairs to recover after the horror. Usually I stop by for coffee,(it’s close to my house) but we’ve had a sandwich and a homemade cupcake here before as well. It’s a nice cheap place for my husband and I to go on a quasi-date to play cards, listen to live music and chat. And with a baby on the way, it seems pretty kid-friendly as well. And good food. Lots of coffee places just have pre-fab sandwiches. Even though I usually just get coffee, it’s nice to know I could get a sandwich that isn’t wrapped in plastic. Always seems to have a nice lunch rush, which is good, because several coffee places here have come and gone in the last couple years. The owner is awesome, there is free Easter candy in a big bin, wine deals, organic half and half for your coffee. What more could you want? Well, maybe a barrista who isn’t snotty and rolls her eyes, but that’s another story.

I met a colleague at 7:30 am on a weekday. I ordered a large dark roast and a bacon and egg panini. I would have preferred to get the coffee right away but it didn’t come out until my food did. The coffee came in a restaurant mug instead of a to-go cup like any other coffee shop. The coffee was pretty good, although I wouldn’t call it a dark roast. It tasted regular to me, not the bitterness I expect with a darker roast. The panini was pretty good; nice and hot. I told her I like my bacon crispy, which it was. I asked for a refill of which they wanted to charge me 50 cents. I declined. I am disappointed about this and the fact that I couldn’t have taken my coffee with me. Also, the amount of coffee in the large cup does not equal even close to what I would expect from a chain coffee shop. I believe my expectations were off here. I expected a coffee shop and found a restaurant that doesn’t do free refills on their coffee. Food was mediocre.

Stopped by Café Zia on this incredibly snowy February Monday for lunch. The café has a nice, cozy atmosphere. They usually have two daily sandwich specials and two soup specials along with their build-your-own sandwich menu. They also have a few breakfast sandwiches that were still available when we were there at noon. I decided to build-my-own sandwich with whole grain bread, pesto, roasted chicken, provolone, roasted red pepper and spinach. And I couldn’t pass up a cup of their roasted tomato soup. My husband ordered their breakfast panini with sausage. The food was good, especially the creamy pepper soup. And my husband loved the breakfast sandwich. I ordered my sandwich hot, but it came out with toasted bread and all the inside filling was cold, which was definitely disappointing. We asked the server if he could put it back on the panini press, which he agreed to do. Once the sandwich came out hot with the cheese actually melted, it was great. They also forgot to bring out our chai tea latte, so it came with the meal instead of right away. But, it was a good latte and I would order one again. In summary, the food and drinks are good, but the service needs a little work.

Welcome to Chain City America! If you’re in the Roseville area — most if not all that you find to eat for lunch happens to be chain restaurants — enter Café Zia this petite café/sandwich shop that from the looks of it, recently opened up. Innovative sandwiches, and an option to build your own sandwiches with premium add-ons, garlic-cheese spread, avocado, roasted red bell peppers, etc. It’s delicious and each time I come here I try something new. You also get the option to name your sandwich, which I do every time — I name mine obviously because I lack any creativity whatsoever — «The Darshy Sandwich» One day, as I walked into the café — there it was as a special of the week — «The Darshy Sandwich» I mean sure you’re important if you have a bridge named after you, or even a building — but a sandwich, cmon guys that’s awesomeness^squared. They also have a good selection of beverages — beers, wine, italian sodas, and seasonal products — pumpkin lattes, apple cider etc. They brew the ultra-hippie Minnesota coffee«Peace coffee» [Try saying that without putting up the peace sign] The staff is super friendly and always willing to help. I normally grab my sandwich to go and then eat it at the Josephine Lake down the road — hands down the best lunch experience I’ve had in this area.
