Had lunch there. Food was pretty good, tuna sandwich, and soup. The menu is a little strange, for instance they offer a «healthy sandwich» that includes sprouts, avocado, and cream cheese and served with potato salad. Their menu is expensive, if I want to pay 15 – 20 dollars for lunch I’ll go to a fine restaurant. Not a pie shop with limited hours. They are very nice, but for the price it’s not worth it. Avoid.

Want a nice homemade lunch from an established town favorite? A Slice of Goodness is the place to visit. Soup, half sandwich and a slice of homemade pie is the perfect choice to order!!!

Has very limited hours. Went there to grab lunch at 2pm and they were closed. No idea how good the food is. Their business hours are 1030– 230. Not sure why closing early is even an option with such limited hours. I was pretty excited and convinced some others to join me there for a quick bite. Wish I could have tried it.

They have good pies. They must have changed management recently. When I ordered pies last Christmas they didnt seem to be very well organized. But I thought about giving them another chance, but they are closed the week before Easter. I would think this would be a good time to be open. Two strikes they are out. I will look some place else for pies

Lived in Roseville for more than 20 years, New Years Resolution to «KEEPITSMALLANDLOCAL» and honestly opened new awareness to extreme. For this place, greeted with a smile, felt like dining at our amazing aunties. It was clean, everyone was happy, best quiche ever, pie to die for and YES we will be back! Only NEGATIVE they have limited hours. I am hopeful we can get the word out to dine and shop small and locally so our mom and pop owners stay around. Check it out! You will be pleased.

I can’t believe I’ve never known about this place. I’m not a HUGE pie person, but this place has converted me! Apparently it’s been around for forever and if you’re not looking for it, you’ll pass it right by. So amazing! I ended up with a ½ turkey/cranberry sandwich and piece of blueberry peach pie and it was SOOOOOOO good.

This place is great, the food is awesome… And it’s a «mom and pop» restaurant, there’s not to many left, so it’s good to support!!!

Unilocal needs to add another $ to its expense category. First time in with a good friend. The food was good but not exceptional and the service was just fine. Now I don’t mind paying for great food but when you are at $ 16 for an ice tea, ½ sandwich and a very small house salad then something is way wrong.

Family-owned pie place. EXCELLENT pie! There are several choices and daily specials, from classics(apple and berry) to unique(Triple Berry and Cherry with Coconut Crumble). I bought one for my husband and he about died. The helpful baker recommended the unique pie listed above and it was still warm! So fresh!

If anyone can find better pie within a driveable distance, let me know and I’ll try it, but it’s highly unlikely to happen. I don’t frankly care how much the price is, if they were to raise it in order to be able to stay in business, I would happily pay it., because my mother is no longer alive and there isn’t anybody else who can make pie as good as hers. So you naysayers just go on down the street to Denny’s and be happy with the big portions and low quality.

I agree with the others that this place is outrageously expensive for what it is. The food is good,(definitely not ‘flavorless’ as one Unilocaler wrote) but it is rather ordinary. The half sandwich(standard bread slices), potato salad(one standard scoop) and pie combo came out to $ 15.61 w/tax and I just ordered water. By the time I left a tip, that’s a really expensive lunch for just one person. If the décor were more updated one might feel justified but the whole ‘Grandma’s Kitchen’ theme going on is not in line with their Sunset Strip pricing. The rhubarb pie was delicious and good-sized but the ice cream is not real vanilla bean. Service was fine/prompt. All in all, average ingredients for which they are charging an arm and a leg. I can’t justify a return trip here.

Good food, great pie… but, too pricey?! Can’t go there for lunch too often unfortunately because anywhere else is more affordable :(

I have driven by this little gem a million tines or more. They always seem to have a good lunch crowd, The big draw here is the pie. I got a couple pieces to go. One was a banana cream the other a chocolate cream. The crust was very yummy, homemade texture. Like Mom used to make. A piece of pie costs about 6 bucks so it’s not cheap. I think it is worth it however. Next time I will try for an apple pie, but they were out. They do have a very extensive list of pies. If you have a favorite, call ahead for to place your order. The bad thing is this place is such a temptation. Need to check myself on that one.

I order the special, $ 11 for a half sandwich and a slice of pie; kind of expensive. Pie was great, Apple Caramel, not too sweet, very tasty, great crust. The potato salad was good. But the sandwich, pretty limited selection so I got the Tuna, it was the brown tuna, not the good white stuff and not much in the sandwich. Should be a 4 – 5 star, buying quality ingredients should be the easy part. The pie was very, very good.

I stopped in for lunch. I had the ham quiche of the day. It was 12.99. It was a very fluffy, good size piece of quiche, mixed fresh fruit, a cup of cinnamon applesauce and a giant cookie. I’ve read reviews complaining about prices, but if you want fresh homemade food you’re going to pay for it. I thought is was a good, very hearty lunch. I also picked up two pieces of pie to bring home which I’ve yet to try but they look fantastic!

A cute, family-owned restaurant that has great sandwiches and fabulous pies! Yes, it may be a tad pricey but everything is homemade and their pies are way better than anything you’d find at a chain restaurant or grocery store. Shop local! :)

OK, We had the sour cream berry and the vanilla walnut cream. Me and my lady judge pie first by the crust. It was great! The filling was pretty yummy too. We had gone to sushi and then hit this place for dessert and coffee. 2 slices of pie and 2 coffees $ 20 maybe a little over priced? Place has been there 30 or so years!!!
