Let me first say that I’m not great at optometrist appointments. They make me nervous. I’d take a dentist any day over an optometrist. But this was a good experience; I had a very easy eye checkup at TSO. First, I had no wait at all. The receptionist was very efficient. She did the initial tests(peripheral vision and the one that approximates your prescription and maybe one other thing), and she was friendly. She could tell I was nervous, and she really did make me feel more at ease. Dr. Schaub was my optometrist, and he was very thorough with my eye exam. He explained what he was doing and why he was doing it while he worked. He is a man who is happy to be an optometrist, and that makes a difference for your patients. Thank you for your enthusiasm. I will definitely be back for a checkup next year.

Not great. The doctors are very nice and good with kids but it takes an act of congress to get an appointment. The ladies up front do not seem happy to be working there. We will not return, it’s a shame because the doctors are good.

Not very happy about my past visits. Just recently I showed up 20 minutes early to my appointment. I was waiting for the doctor and was on the phone trying to get my insurance information. He came out and said he was ready for me when there was another patient waiting as well behind me. I told him just give me a minute I was on the phone getting my insurance information. Two minutes later I apologized and said my insurance was the same and he told me he thought so. BUT he said he was going to take this other patient first since they were before me… FIRSTOFF I WAS20MINUTESEARLY! And this patient showed up AFTER me. He told me this at 2:14 and my appointment was at 2:15. HOWWASSHEBEFOREME?! I had another appointment to make right after this one. SO I ENDEDUPWAITING! AFTER I was early and before the other patient. He did not see me until 2:35! Then I ended up paying $ 61 for the visit and a contact fitting when I have good insurance. VERY dissatisfied and will be moving my business else where.

I love this place Dr. Schaub, made it very easy for my son’s first visit. He was very nice and made us comfortable. I tried to make an appointment on line this time around never got a call back. So I called in the afternoon still got an appointment for my husband. All is well and made one for me and my son too. The secretary was patient and helpful with my many appointment bookings. Like I said I love this place I suggest them if your looking. They have that hometown feel. They also have nice glasses to choose from and sunglasses.

I do NOT recommend at all!!! The receptionist need to take a class on customer service!!! They are extremely rude! I was told that my insurance was only for my eye exam if I wanted to purchase glasses/contacts they will be full price, but yet when I went to LensCrafters they gave me $ 150 discount because of my insurance!

BEWAREOFSCARETACTICSTOGETYOUTOBUYHIGH-COSTPOLYCARBLENSES! I was an ABO-certified Optician(most opticians are not) about 20 years ago and a graduate of a 3-month Pearl Vision Management Training program… so I know a little about the optical industry. I just got off the phone with an optician at TSO, Richmond, TX who recommended polycarbonate lenses(more expensive than regular CR39 lenses) for my driving and TV-watching eye glasses. REALLY?! Polycarb lenses are for sports glasses and safety glasses because they are very«impact resistant.» They may also be recommended if you have a very strong prescription(which I do not) because they are thinner than CR39(plastic) lenses. But they are a lot more expensive and while having less visual clarity. When I told the optician that I didn’t expect anything to fly at my face while watching TV or driving, she said I would have to sign a waiver if I didn’t want polycarb lenses. REALLY?! This is a cheap scare tactic to scare unknowing people to buy the more expensive lenses that they really don’t need. SOUNETHICAL! I would never have done that as an optician. I will never shop at this store again.
