The scenery is nice but that’s the best I can say. I don’t really feel like this place has made an effort to do anything special. I’ve been here on 4 – 5 occasions and service is always lower quality than any restaurant around it. The food quality here is poor. The foods are typical fattening bar foods and they leave a lot to be desired. The menu is an assault on the eyes. Hard to read in a dark environment. The quality is low for the price. Yesterday I was in to get a mushroom and Swiss and there was like 3 – 4 small mushrooms on top of a bland burger patty. My friend asked if they have good bloody Mary’s and the waiter says«oh yea they’re great.» So my friend asks«What do you guys put in it?» The waiter goes: I don’t know, it’s just a mix.” Have fun with your mix. This waiter didn’t even split our checks, just threw it on one bill without asking. No biggie I guess but the little things can break the deal. This probably the last time I’ll go in. I hope this restaurant can find its soul and turn things around.

Had a great dinner and drinks with friends. Seems like there are 2 different crowds: the late night party group and the more calm easy going. We were there for the calm and enjoyed it but not sure I’d like the loud drunks.. Good beer list and food. From the other reviews it sounds like if you want to be a loud drunk asshole then you might not be welcome

Hit or miss. Can be epic or terrible. Regardless it’s one of the more lively places to go in the area.

It was my first time at this Rosemont complex. This was our second stop of the night, right before they were transitioning into DJ mode. Nice wood décor, very similar to other Irish pubs in Chicago, but a bit XL. Clientele is diverse, sounded like most people were from the suburbs. Wouldn’t go out of my way to come here, but a nice alternative when in the Rosemont area.

So so If you are hankerin for a fake Irish pub, built in a mini Las Vegas city, then this might be your place. Oh ya, the prices are about 20% higher than they are in the real Chicagoland Irish pubs. The service is hit or miss. Not a bad place if you are stranded on the island of Rosemont, but not worth the trip on their own merits.

Went here last night and the service was just horrible! My friend and I have both worked in the industry for over a decade each so we can cut you some slack if you’re busy or something happened but this was just bad. The lowlights: — Waited nearly 10 min just to be greeted and get our drink orders in. — The old fashioned tasted like a bunch of syrup and gave me no buzz so I’m thinking someone forgot the bourbon. — We get our app — no plates, napkins or silverware and we don’t get them until we are nearly done because that’s when she finally checked on us. — I was drink free for a solid 15 minutes. — - After she checks on us once when we get our meal she is completely gone and we never see her again. — Go up to the bar to ask for our check and I am ignored 3 times before someone talks to me(all of the servers and bartenders were hanging out at the service well talking and it was semi busy) — The DJ was terrible and clearly doesn’t even understand the basics like matching BPM’s to make a smooth transfer so that the music doesn’t just stop and there is awkward silence. Seriously! 2 stars because this place has potential. Decent beer selection, food was good and it was nice and cozy earlier in the night. Fine tune your staff because the place and the server could have made a lot more money off of us if we were treated better.

Almost one year to the date. Same friend, only another year older and hopefully a bit wiser. Five Roses continues to exceed my expectations to an entire new level. This time; 2 pole dancers armed to the teeth with ratchet moves fueling a never before seen level of EDM teenage fury garnished with sprinkles of traveling business folk. Part two also included a bantering bathroom attendant and a rather intense altercation between a drunk tween and a Hispanic bodybuilder. Hold your breath and close your eyes. Five Roses will light you up.

To start, I wish there was an option to give NEGATIVE stars because it was that HORRIFIC. Our experience was tainted primarily due to power hungry security guards and a lack of concern for customer service from management. We came on a Friday night for a friend’s birthday party and had a VIP booth. The night started off well but later became absolutely mortifying. Music was good and I was pleasantly surprised to see a sizable crowd. It seemed like we were going to have a great night! I will say that the drinks, however, seemed a bit overpriced. Around 12am/1am, three of us walked out for some fresh air. Not even 5 minutes later, we proceeded to walk back in. My friend and I(we’re both girls), walked right in but when our other friend(a boy) tried to go back in, a hefty security guard pushed him and prohibited him from re-entering the bar. At the moment, it seemed as if the security guard did not possess the ability to speak. He continued to push our friend without any words. We asked countless times for him to not get violent but to instead, politely explain to us the situation. It was no use trying to reason with someone as mean and power hungry as he was. The violent security guard grew incredibly rude in his response to our questions. All we wanted to know was why our friend was not allowed back in. I have to add that the other security guard, however, was not as rude or violent. I was able to have a reasonable, non-violent conversation with him where I explained that it is 100x better to explain to someone why they are not allowed back in, rather than revert to violence as the first step. He agreed. After a while, the violent security guard finally stated that our friend was too intoxicated. At the same time, we learned from a friend who was still in the bar that management said our friend was not allowed in because he tried to start a fight at the bar. This was IMPOSSIBLE, seeing that we were together the entire night. There is NO communication between management and the security guards nor a drop of care for customer service. I am incredibly disappointed in my experience at Five Roses Pub and in utter disbelief of the disrespectful behavior from staff. I urge management to reevaluate training for their staff and hope they are willing to take customer reviews seriously. It is not the right way to treat people and based from other reviews, this is not the first time this has happened. I will NEVER step foot into Five Roses again nor do I recommend it.

My favorite place in the Rosemont entertainment district! The food is delicious and the staff is awesome! After hopping around the surrounding bars Five Roses had the best looking and most upscale crowd in the area. The staff here has always been incredibly friendly, inviting and fun which is why I keep coming back. As far as the restaurant goes I’ve tried a few of the menu items and they’ve all been good. Definitely try the baked cod! I’ve also gone in just for appetizers and I love the nachos. Mozzarella sticks and wings. On weekends at 10 the restaurant turns into a full blown nightclub. Again my favorite in the area. Great music, great sound system and cool light show. You definitely get the downtown Chicago nightclub feel without having to go all the way into the city. Fyi. They can also validate your parking.

I just had a horrible date here… not horrible due to food or service, mind you, but the company I(unfortunately) elected to spend it with. John W. was an attentive server without being too overbearing. He came around before drinks ran dry and entertained my date’s loaded non-food/service-related questions. When I didn’t love my seasonal Revolution pick, he suggested a Lagunitas IPA, and he was right-on. The white clam chowder was purportedly very good, as were the fries with bleu cheese. Despite the generous portion, I could have had seconds! Sorry to get personal here… but when my date went from bad to worse, John and staff were very kind and accommodating. I tried to kindly and diplomatically dismiss my date, and when I wasn’t getting anywhere and he was getting hostile, abandoned ship(er…table). I checked with the hostess about my self-imposed table switch and she was fine with it. When my date followed, however, staff noticed. Two employees conferred with me after I(twice) asked my date to leave my table, asking what had happened; however they were respectful of my comfort and privacy if I didn’t want to disclose details. They assured me that if my date came back, they wouldn’t allow him in. John was great in bringing me my half of the check and mentioned he had comped my drink. He was super nice through the whole night, especially after this ridiculousness. The guy is a total Class Act; I totally appreciate it. Thank you to the Five Roses staff tonight; despite the craziness and drama that my date prompted, they were totally professional and insanely kind. I felt safe and respected in their establishment, which never was a consideration until tonight.

The worst bar service I have had in a long time. Me and several others sitting at the bar could not get service and the place was pretty slow. I saw at least 2 people walk out and several people sitting with empty glasses for a long time. I had one beer which took forever(and was $ 6.50 during happy hour) and it took forever to pay. I actually was going to eat there but never had a chance to order. So, I cannot comment on food since I never got any.

UPDATEDREVIEW: I went back for lunch as I had heard that the menu was revamped. I got the breakfast burger and it was decent — much better than my previous patty melt. We also had the onion tower and it was okay but might not have been worth the $ 10. Overall, there was much on an improvement. As I am writing this, I am sitting back here for a second lunch post first review. The bartender waited on us and he was great and attentive. I am impressed with the beer selection. For the most part, everything is great main stream selection. OLDREVIEW: I went in here for lunch with some buddies and it was dead. I ordered a patty melt as I was craving such. It come out on rye bread that was way to big for the small burger. The cheese was literally a single slice of imitation cheese. There may have been all of five onions on the patty melt as well. I begrudgingly ate it and will never ever go back unless under full and completely duress!

My wife and I had dinner at the Five Roses during our stay in a Rosemont. I had stopped earlier in the day and had two beers at the bar. Bartender was very friendly and attentive. Drafts were priced a little on the high end(4.50 for Miller Lite, to 6.50+). For dinner we had an appetizer(fries with gravy). The menu said they were fresh cut, but it was obvious they were frozen. I would not order again. For our meals… My wife had bangers and mash and I had the Guinness Pie. Both were quite tasty and enjoyable. This is an ok resturant. You wouldn’t go out of your way to go here, but it is agreeable! Unlike other reviewers, service was far from an issue here.

Two things. First of all — you’re in Rosemont in an overpriced, er, «bargain» outlet area. Second of all — if you’re looking for an Irish bar(or any type of low-key spot), you’re in the wrong area! If you can get over those two facts, you’re good to go here. Five Roses is a big bar and does have somewhat of an Irish pub feel. It has a great back area for private parties, and a dance floor and room for a DJ… wait. A dance floor and DJ at an Irish bar? Say it ain’t so! They only played dance music, which is fun, but just not what we were expecting at an «Irish» bar. I’ll say this: If I had to come back to the area, this sure beats Toby Keith’s any day!

I only come to Rosemont’s Entertainment District for the nightlife. Five Roses has to be my favorite bar in the district. There’s always great music and it’s never overpacked. Drinks average around $ 7. Sometimes there’s a $ 5 cover… so be aware!

I really wish I could say this deserves a 3 star rating. The service was fast and the server was nice. I ordered the herbalist. If you like Gin, this is a MUST order. This is where it stops being pleasant. I ordered Cheddar cheese curds. They were super greasy and gritty. The ahi tuna was very over priced, spicy and not a pleasant experience. The taste profile was super sweet and way too spicy. The outside was over cooked and tough. The mashed potatoes were gritty as well and ice cold. I guess we see consistency, horrible food. A birthday weekend and we are leaving un-happy. The server didn’t even notice that my plate was nearly un touched. $ 120 dollar check. Not coming back

Went with a company event. Had lots of appetizers & a main course. Service was good — but obviously we had dedicated servers. Wings as an appetizer were great. Main course — cheese burger. Average pup burger.

It had been awhile since we had been to Five Roses — and last weekend we were looking for a dinner option that wasn’t too pricey, we could watch the Hawks game, and actually be able to have a conversation. I suggested Five Roses, because as I remembered, it was all of these things — plus, they had some pretty awesome menu items. Guys, Five Roses has changed. I’m embarrassed to have recommended this place to a friend, touting how excellent it was. First things first: Menu changes. They are no longer offering the skillet mussels or homemade chips with bleu cheese dip appetizer. They’ve attempted to «diversify» their menu, by adding more burgers, and also pastas. I don’t know that this was a good choice. They’ve «un-Irished» a lot of the menu. Sure, the«irish specialties» were still there — but nothing special. At all. Also — what kind of an Irish pub stops serving Magner’s and instead has Angry Orchard? I like Angry Orchard, don’t get me wrong, but I loved that I could go to Five Roses and know that Magner’s was on tap. Next, let’s move on to PRICE. Jacked. $ 10 for an Irish Carbomb? In what country? Also, $ 6.50 for a beer is NOT a «special,» no matter now you slice it. There’s something wrong here. The Guinness for the carbomb was served ICECOLD. Like, brain-freeze cold. Guinness is never served that cold. The fish and chips were soggy — what happened to serving them on newspaper so this doesn’t happen? That used to be the Five Roses way. Sad to say that I’m pretty much over it. I don’t think I’ll be back.

I had the opportunity to stop by this lovely establish for both lunch and dinner while traveling for business. Lunch was amazing and relaxing, drinks are a little pricey, but standard for the area. I was shocked to return for dinner to quite the packed house. Apparently on weekends the bar turns into a club. We still had decent service and great food although on a Saturday evening at 7:30 we had a half hour wait for a table. They were able to call us when the table was available so we weren’t stuck standing around.

Tucked into the«Entertainment District» in Rosemont, Five Roses Pub entertains, satisfies and nourishes every aspect that an Irish pub should. On an early autumn day I stumbled into Five Roses looking for some pub grub, good whiskey and a Guinness or three. It was a bit early, 9 am, and Five Roses opened at 10 am. I explored the«Entertainment District» which contained everything from a country bar, TexMex joint, a beautifully designed bowling alley, an artificial turf soccer field and a comedy club too. But I really wanted to go back Five Roses for some pub grub. I arrived at Five Roses later in the day and was warmly greeted at the door. I sat at the bar and ordered a Guinness and their featured whiskey on sale. Guinness was poured perfectly and the whiskey hit the spot. I then ordered the Reuben with Fries. The Reuben was delicious with tender corned beef, Swiss, kraut all warmed together and sandwiched on a toasted rye. This was a great sandwich! The fries were hot and crispy served along curry sauce, which I had requested. The meal was great and was prepared with skill and care. And it was all served up by a great and courteous bartender. I ordered another round, and maybe another after that. The bartender explained all the whiskies and beer and gave me samples upon my requests. Great customer service! Five Roses Pub, I am glad I visited you. Your food, whiskey and overall service is extraordinary. From the succulent Reuben, the great whiskey, and the outstanding customer service I would easily give you six Roses(stars). Five Roses Pub entertains, satisfies and nourishes every aspect that an Irish pub should. If you want a great time and are in Rosemont’s «Entertainment District» I would highly recommend Five Roses Pub.
