Seriously this place takes forever. I placed an order for Thai Salad over 20 minutes and see people get their curry much faster! Also, out of the 4 people who ordered after me and got their food before me, 3 of which received the wrong order! I can probably grow my own vegetables, feed my own chickens, slaughter said chicken and assemble the salad before they can!

The store front had no one in front but I thought that maybe it was just that this area might not appreciate Thai food as much. I had ordered other things from the other store fronts before seeing this place. So, I decided to get some dessert with the coconut cakes. I’ve had good ones before but boy, this was just not good at all. It was rubbery and reheated and only the centers had very little coconut. I’m writing this in the hopes that they either make it fresh or just stop selling it. Also to add more coconut to it. I love Thai food and just want more Thai places to do well so that I can have more variety in the SGv.

I love thai food ! But then this wasn’t the place for me. I actually wanted to try the food on the left side of it but oh wells. Boyfriend choose this one :) Soooo we got the curry(forgot which one) and also the pad see ew or pad thai. I don’t remember. Anyways the noodles was typical. It taste more like chinese noodles rather than thai :/And the curry, they actually put green and red pepper. It’s the first time I ever seen that with curry. Haha. Don’t think i would try it again. Once it’s enough for me(:

Food is pretty good and price is even better. Why 2 stars? Because of the rudeness! I came on saturday night around 7.30 pm Just wanted to order something to go. The open sign was still up so i’m assuming it’s still open. There was only 1 customer in front of me at the cashier. And there was only 1 worker. An older lady who seems to be the chef. For whatever reason, the customer in front of me just kept talking to the chef. And the chef clearly knew that i was waiting but kept ignoring me. We made eye contacts and she turned away. The chef seemed to be cleaning as she kept talking to the customer. The customer finally left. The chef was keep cleaning. Stealing eye contacts and kept cleaning. Clearly pretending not to see me. I stood there like a dumb woman for couple minutes until i realized that she probably did not want to serve me because she wanted to close down and go home! Hey chef, If you want to go home early, turn the closed sign up! If you don’t want to serve anymore, at least have some decency and manner! Just say so. Don’t play eye contacts and pretending to be busy. Don’t ignore customers. You should not be in restaurant industry with this type of attitude. It’s rude! Will never come back here.

Star Thai appears to be a family-operated shop that serves Bangkok-style food. They started out with a limited curry and Thai salad menu with everything $ 5, but recently expanded the variety while bumping up the prices. Still, everything is $ 8 and under, which makes it an attractive option in the food court as long as you are OK eating out of a styrofoam container. Most of Star Thai’s menu bears heavy Chinese-influence, so I think it could be a hit in this SGV food court. Although Star Thai is a central-Thai eatery, I ordered the Isaan beef larb because I was craving it. I made sure it was prepared Thai-spicy and it was. The chef loaded the wok with minced beef and dressed it with lime juice, fresh Thai red chili, and a little bit of fish sauce. Shallots, cabbage, carrots, and other herbs were garnished on top. Although the heat level was phenomenal and the seasoning made it very refreshing, one ingredient that defines larb was lacking, a generous amount of toasted rice mixed in which makes the larb crunchy. The larb tasted like a flat spicy and tangy ground beef salad, which I paired with Jasmine rice only because Star does not serve sticky rice, which is what larb is usually eaten with. Maybe I should stick with Bangkok specialties the next time I try Star Thai and instead go for the Thai curries.

It is located inside the food court adjacent to The Square Supermarket. Their Thai crab fried rice lacked flavor and the kanom krok(little round coconut cakes) lacked sweetness. Too disappointed to try anymore of their dishes!

Drunken noodle– 3 stars; good portion, but chicken didn’t seem to be marinated so it lacked flavor and the whole dish was made average Papaya salad– 4 stars; I like my papaya salad cold, this was slightly lower than room temp Service was good. Price– $ 5.50-$ 7.50 depending on dish Overall, I would like to come back and try curries and pad Thai. I would like this place to succeed!

I love their yellow curry! It was creamy, sweet, and oh so good ^_^ You have a choicr of chicken, beef, or pork(I got pork). Everything on the menu is $ 5 also(excluding tax)! Definitely worth a try.
