poor school, dirty environment, extremely mean office staff, I’d learned manicure at this school disappointed ! Learnt nothing, wasted 3months. Before test, they limited our time to practice only 3 times which is totally not enough. The eating place is at the parking lot, only 2 microwaves .at lunch time you have to wait like 30 minutes in line . The parking lot for student is 5 minutes away, it’s not outside the school only for customer. especially when u late for clocking in the morning, they don’t allow u to park for a second . The restroom is only enough for 1 person I have only been to school for 3 days and asked to do customer to make money for them. We get nothing .only poor little tips 1 or 2 dollars. We like slaves . You will regret to learn here, for God seeks please choose another school, worst school ever

I called first thing in the morning and asked how much it would cost for a wash and blow dry. The lady over the phone told me it would be $ 7. That sounded about right since it is what I get charged at the other school I normally go to. When I get there, the instructor tells me that their students don’t do blowouts, since they are students. So she tells me that since I have a lot of hair they would have to use a flat iron…$ 25 and that’s with a discount! Sorry, that’s way too much to have students wash and flat iron my hair. That would be pretty close to what I would pay at a few local blow dry bars. I have paid $ 25 during the week and it came with a glass of white wine, head massage and nice ambiance. I told her I would try it for $ 15, but she said no. I left and will never go back.

Being that this is a beauty school, do be open minded that you are test subjects for the next Paul Mitchell or pleasure palms. You just have to cross your fingers that you aren’t their first test subjects and you pray that they know exactly what they are doing. The beauty of being test subject at a school is that the service(haircuts, massages, etc) you want is fairly cheap so you aren’t really being scam for your money. What I got at Rosemead Beauty School is a facial. Yes, you read that right! I got a facial and I have say it was the most relaxing and cleansing experience I have ever tried. For only $ 16, they rub and scrub and clean your my face so good that your face shines. And an added bonus for getting a facial was I got a massage while the mask was waiting to dry so they can peel all the nasty gunk that built up on my face. It was definitely a rejuvenating experience and would definitely come back again for a facial. Overall, I rank this place 4⁄5 stars because you are taking a risk from being test subjects for students. It’s definitely not a 5 star because you have to understand students do make mistake so do be mindful.

LOVE this place! Came here today around 3pm there was no wait which was a plus. the service and prices are great can’t really complain about anything. I was a little scared and nervous coming here since it was my first time and having students work on my hair but I am absolutely impressed with my outcome. I would definitely be coming back Btw I had my roots retouched to a ash blonde. It costed $ 22.00 since my hair was super long(waist length) for short hair it’s 14 and up. If anyone was wondering.

If you want come here for school, i dont recommend this school. but it is cheaper then the other big name places. Well I’m a student here, and the teachers on the floor are not that great. All the teachers have different techniques and styles. And the teachers that teach in the little class rooms seem to know more and are better stylists then the ones on the floor. Some of the students that’s on the floor are pretty good, better then the teachers on the floor I think. I have gotten hair cuts plenty of times to know who’s good and not. If u come here for the first time ask the front desk to recommend some1, but sometimes they won’t do it cause there busy.

I had a good experience, just came for a hair color, called before coming in, no appointment needed and when I got there I didn’t even have to wait. Came around 2 on a Friday and I was seated down and ready to go, the Cuban lady with the short hair took real good care of me; was gentle to my unwashed tangly hair, very detailed in her work, and gave me a relaxing head massage when washing. I’m a happy customer and love the result! :)

Dark and dingy and $ 4 for a haircut ! I was outdoors scoping the area for a salon when i noticed a girl with nice hair. She said she attended school at Rosemead Beauty College. I headed on over. I love the students and teachers fussing over me. I haven’t been touched like that in a long time and I felt pretty. I departed with a beautiful memory and a well-done sniperoo.

no wifi for student, no practice questions given, unless you ask many times or you have good friends who has good relationship with the instructor. The school also does not provide enough material and equipts for the class, as opposed to what they promised when signed up. i think they just want to cut down cost, and the result of it is, students have to go buy supplies each day after school. Not a good learning environment. It is a cheaply run school for new immigrants, if you are serious about learning related courses, go somewhere else.

If you want your hair to look like you paid for a $ 4 haircut, this is the place to go! But these are students in training so you get what you get. Also, I’ve been here and have gotten more experienced students over others and there is a dramatic difference. This past visit I believe, was a brand new student and man-o-man was she lost! The«teacher» came by several times to correct her and kept taking the scissors away from her. =/

Great first experience! I was kind of hesitant to get it cut here, because it’s a beauty school and it’s hard to cut my hair(I have a lot of hair). The student I had didn’t know how to cut my hair so she called over the instructor and she cut my hair /also used me as a lesson to the students(super awkward). She did a really nice job and didn’t cut off too much!

You get what you pay for right? I came here one day because I felt like trying out something«new». Being a guy with a pretty simple haircut, I decided to try out this beauty school. When you walk through the door, you actually have to pay for your haircut before you«get your haircut» at the front desk. It was $ 5 for the haircut and the shampoo($ 3 if you only want the haircut). The experience was a bit nerve wrecking. All the haircuts are done by students, and«supervised» by the instructors. All the students here pretty much don’t understand English, and I believe speak either Mandarin or Vietnamese. My haircut took over an hour and maybe close to two hours. It was so extremely slow, that I almost wanted to ask for the hair clipper and to just do it myself. I was fed up to the point that I didn’t even care how it looked anymore, and just wanted to go home. Just some words of advice if you decide to come here: EXPECT slow service(1 – 2 hours for even the simplest cuts) DON’T expect a quality haircut With that said, if you’re on a budget — attempt to cut your own hair you’ll probably do a better job.

I came to this school earlier before becoming a student I remember getting a hair cut and asking for my hair to be left the same length and just to add layers and… I didn’t get layers just a SHORTER hair cut and was really dissapointed… No Tip! My experience from being a student here was also bad… The owner of the school is biased… racist. I’ve hear hispanic and vietnamese people talk about this lady in a BAD way… The only teachers I liked at this school was Mrs. Rose… and the two only hispanic teachers… there was this other teacher on the floor I liked but I forgot her name but she was the sweetest thing :) I think she was chinese… People will only come to this school because it is the most affordable beauty school you can find! You’ll have to put up with a lot of crap though… It wasn’t in my heart to continue this program I’ve moved on with becoming a chef…

I love and adore my hair, but I’m not going to pay an arm and leg just to have it trimmed. So I go to local places like this to help out the students make some money, gain some experience and in turn I have a healthy set of hair again. I think it’s a win win situation, but my cousin thinks I’m crazy for letting students mess with my hair. It’s $ 4 for my hair cut and I’m not asking for anything outrageous, but a ‘V-shaped’ cut. The students are guided by their head teacher at all times. I feel safe enough and had just enough trust to sit back and relax. It took about 30 minutes and I was fairly impressed with how careful my student worked on my hair. No matter where I go, they always trim off more than I ask them to. I’m not surprised and I left satisfied with more money to spend on clothes. My mom frequent here fairly often to cover up her gray hair and it’s about $ 10-$ 15 depending on the treatment. Don’t forget to tip, after all it was just 4 bucks.

on the rarest of occasions i remember to give my big hair which rivals medusa’s a trim and a style. the two times that i went i was really satisfied. two of the best haircuts ive ever gotten, sure it was also two of the most time consuming haircuts that ive ever had. the students consulted their senseis and carefully carried out their craft. both times was exactly what ive wanted. minus one star because these are students and they do mess up. My dad went there and a young man completely jacked up a simple same length all around cut. one thing i learned from the two times i went there is that your best bet is an older asian woman as your hairdresser. besides haircut they also offer other beauty&spa services including waxes, haircolor, manipedi, massages. all very cheap

It’s kind of a dump and most of the students do not speak English. On the pro side, you can get a decent haircut/trim here for $ 3. The instructors all speak English and make sure your student knows exactly what you want. During a recession, this place is a real find.

They are really cheap, about $ 3 for a hair cut. Some of them are really good and some of them aren’t, they are students after all. Also, most of the might not speak english(at least to me). [Sounds like vietnamese and chinese mostly] They have a parking lot on the side. And their hours suck, I think they close around 4pm. But’s it’s $ 3 :P ********************** Revised 6÷6÷08 Times for customer use(taken from window) Monday and Sunday is closed Tuesday — Friday: 10am-4:30pm break 5pm-7pm Sat: 8:30am to 4:30pm
