I love this place so much and it been coming here for almost my whole life. Once they went to the«one month» vacation the schedules have been very confusing. Today on Unilocal they said that they were open so I decided why not go get some BOMBBANGXEO and when I went they were close so if any of y’all want to go be careful because it’s pretty disappointing when you crave so much and drive here and they’re close so yeah. I guess you could always try to call before coming but no one has time for that. LOL. However I still think this is the BESTBANHXEO place ever, and I’ve never been to any place that is HOLY as this place unless it’s my moms but other than that this is the BESTPLACEEVERFORBANGXEO !

I rarely order bánh xèo in restaurants because the two times I did, they weren’t good. But I tried this place(15-Dec-2015) and not only is the bánh xèo huge, I was satisfied and impressed. I will definitely come back whenever I get the chance.

There’s only one dish you should really eat at this place, and that is of course BANHXEO!!! Cooked to perfection with shrimp, pork and bean sprouts in a coconut curry flavoured crêpe, you cannot go wrong with this savoury concoction! Staff and people are nice and friendly. Place not jazzed up but nonetheless very good dish.

Excellent banh xeo — crispy, flavorful, and good toppings. Service was nice enough. The store smells kinda strange to us — it’s an old place.

If you want to eat banh xeo, this is the place. They make the best banh xeo in Southern California! Lots of parking spaces. Good service. The only negative thing is the coffee is too little with too much ice. I will come back to this place again!

Nothing special about the Banh Xeo which is what the place is named after. Only thing memorable was the Banh Xeo was big. It was greasy, no flavor, and some parts of the mixture wasn’t cooked thru. Had the Com Suon Bi Cha also and that was average. Not good enough for a second trip. The waitress was super nice so giving them an extra star.

First time experiencing this after the remodel. There’s no longer trash littering the back exterior and refurbishment definitely makes the environment more welcoming. Banh xeo is as good as ever and they even accept credit cards now. Huzzah! Sadly the menu has drastically shrunk since before the remodel, particularly in the crepes. There used to be several options regarding customization, but now the place is limited to the one crêpe option of pork and shrimp. I mean, that’s your basic banh xeo, but when you have that in your restaurant name, I expect specialization! Hopefully you’re allowed to customize off-menu. I’ll try to ask next time I’m there.

Banh Xeo Restaurant: it’s pretty straightforward what you’re going to get when you come here. Yeah, they have com tam and mi vit tiem, but it’s not called Com Tam Quan or Mi Vit Tiem Quan, so myself and my dining companion got two different kinds of banh xeo. I ordered the traditional kind with pork and shrimp and he tried one with fish. They came out billowing, like yellow clouds, accompanied by bags of veggies such as you might find on offer at a farmer’s market. Scorching hot at first bite and lukewarm at second, you better chopstick it into your lettuce roll and cover it with herbs fast, before it cools down. Good luck doing that, though. Seriously, how does one handle banh xeo with chopsticks? It’s a crispy crêpe filled with slippery beansprouts. Come on. I loved my banh xeo and thought my companion’s was good too, but pork and shrimp — tradition — still won out for me. This was one of the few skin-on shrimp dishes that did not stick in my throat, and the pork was nicely browned, though I wish they had kept it fattier. What stands out here isn’t the filling, it’s the crêpe batter. It’s oily but not cloying, and when I wrote above that it was billowing — it really is. It’s light and puffy and crackles around the edges but doesn’t fall apart completely because it’s held together by the inner pork. At $ 8 and change, it’s not cheap for banh xeo. In Westminster, at Van’s, you can get a similarly sized one for $ 5 and it’s very nearly as good. But Van’s doesn’t have Banh Xeo Quan’s perfect soda xi muoi or a mung bean juice that tastes like a peanut butter milkshake.

The best bánh xèo in OC and LA I ever taste. And their duck noodle mì vit tiêm. Love all the dishes here.

We came here for the Banh Xeo and ended up also ordering 2 of the Mi Vit Tiem which was so delicious! Great flavor and the duck was super tender and moist. The Banh Xeo was crispy and HUGE. I love that they give you the veggies clean in a plastic bag(of my parents were with us, they’d take it home after. I mean I wouldn’t blame them, why waste perfectly good fresh herbs!?) The star for us though was their nuoc mam pha(mixed fish sauce) & chili paste. I understand now why they sell it by the bottle on their menu. So perfectly mixed and amazing! By the way their mung bean pandan drink was BOMB!

This place was ok. My family and I came here for dinner tonight. It is a small place and has a strange musty odor. Possibly because it is on the older side. The restrooms are pretty clean and there is a parking lot in the back and along the side streets. They have interesting hours so keep that in mind if you decide to try this place: Monday through Friday, 11:00AM to 2:00PM. They close for a «break» 2:00PM to 5:00PM and reopen 5:00PM to 8:00PM. Saturday, 11:00AM to 8:00PM(no break) Sunday, 11:00AM to 7:00PM(no break) They close on Tuesday. They are known for their banh xeo which is like a Vietnamese crêpe. It is stuffed with bean sprouts, pork, and shrimp. The batter is crunchy but a bit too thick and oily for me. The plate comes with a baggy of lettuce and mint to eat with the banh xeo. There are vegetarian and fish versions of the banh xeo as well. There is a bottle of fish sauce on the table so you can make your own dipping sauce. If you like the fish sauce, they sell a bottle of it for $ 7.00 each. If you want an extra bag of veggies, it is $ 2.50. If you want wrapping paper to eat with the banh xeo, it is $ 1.00 for 5 sheets. Overall, it was good to try at least once. I probably won’t go back because my mom makes the best banh xeo. Give it a try for yourself.

SGV favorite Banh Xeo Quan aka Mr. Rice in Rosemead has finally reopened after almost a year of supposedly being away on a one month vacation. The food and menu has completely changed. Management also seems different. Sugarcane juice is also no longer on the menu, nor is balut or Northern-style phở. Although the Banh Xeo/Vietnamese crêpe is still decent, it’s not even close to what it was before. Their new duck herb noodle soup is pretty tasty, but nothing else on the menu quite tickles my fancy the way it did before. RIP. Their hours are also now similar to that of Japanese restaurants. They are taking a few hour breaks in between days. No bueno.

I wanted to eat something light but also delicious for lunch today. I recalled this place specializes in Banh Xeo so I brought my training partner here after our workout. I had the banh xeo for $ 8.50. He had the Herb duck noodle soup for $ 9.95. Both dishes were good, but one look at my order & my training partner was saddened he didn’t follow my lead. This hole in the wall, family owned restaurant offers few items on the menu & banh xeo is their most popular item. The 3-page menu is affixed on each table so no need bugging the servers for it. This is definitely a no frills restaurant. The place looks a bit run down, inside & out. Hell, I’m not surprised that based on the way it looks, most people wouldn’t step inside unless they already knew about this gem or were told of the culinary delight that awaits them.

ambiance//***** WYSIWYG…hole in the wall mom and pops are the best! service//*** they’re pretty friendly and quick for SGV food//**** hilarious to see that our dialogue mirrored grace C. and her coworkers from last dec! i’ve never had vietnamese crepes before so this is my only data point, but it is delicious!!~ theirs is fried like a crispy eggroll wrapping a filling of pork, shrimp, onions, and bean sprouts with a bag of lettuce and mints on the side for you to add as you please dip it in a fish sauce and voicí! :bonus: even though it’s fried it’s not oily ~*~ i’m sad i am not close enough to go more often, but thank you to GC for the treat and sharing a yummy discovery!

Lots of things can make us unhappy, but often it’s the same things that make us happy. At Bánh Xèo Quán, the same things keep me coming back, like Banh Xeo, Mi Vit Tiem nuoc, and mung bean drink, and the same things make me and my guests feel comfortable, welcome, and happy. Can’t ask for anything more. Plus now they take credit cards.

This place finally reopened! They don’t have printed menus yet as they currently only have 3 items: banh xeo, rice with pork chops, and dry seafood noodles. Since the place is called banh xeo quan, of course I had to get the banh xeo. The banh xeo comes out crispy and a nice golden yellow. Inside, it is filled with bean sprouts, pork, and shrimp. My only complaint is that they don’t have mung bean in the banh xeo, and the shrimps still have shells on them. You get a big plate of assorted greens(basil, mint, etc.) and a side of romaine lettuce leaves to wrap with the banh xeo. Dip it in a little fish sauce and you have a delicious meal! This is literally a hole in the wall. No décor, no service, just plain good banh xeo! Parking: Small lot in the back.

My co-workers: Let’s get Vietnamese crepes for lunch! Me: Never had them before. I’m down. I’m so glad to have been introduced to this Vietnamese item. Similar to egg rolls, the Vietnamese crêpe or banh xeo looks like an omelet. It’s crisp, filling, and tastes great wrapped in lettuce and dipped in fish sauce. Just a head’s up that the bag of veggies not just include lettuce. I usually skip the rest but my co-workers discovered this leaf that doesn’t taste quite palatable — it’s sort of heart shaped and it’s fish mint. Be forewarned! Cash only. Parking lot available but there’s also street parking.
