No reason not to give this cute little place 5 stars. We have a house in Higgins Lake and when we were up for the 4th, we wanted somewhere to get a good coffee instead of having to drive into Houghton Lake. This place has great Unilocal reviews so we checked it out. We each ordered coffees and had breakfast sandwiches — one sausage and Swiss and one ham and cheddar. Both delicious! Will make this a regular stop when we are up!

After an extremely rough night of camping, we packed up and headed home, but needed to grab some coffee. Since this is the only place in Roscommon to do that, we ventured in. First thing that caught my eye was their sale on bread. Two loaves for $ 4. That’s an awesome price for bakery bread. But we weren’t there for bread. We purchased a cheese danish, a lemon poppyseed muffin, an egg and sausage croissant sandwich and two coffees. I like the fact that it was a homemade sandwich — not heat and eat. My son enjoyed it immensely as we drove off. My husband and I broke out the sweet treats — he had the danish. It was filled with plenty of cheese. It’s always a sad thing to have a cheese danish with a teaspoon of cheese filling. This one was an actual CHEESE danish. :) My lemon poppyseed muffin? Absolutely the best one I’ve ever had. Seriously. It was large, but not too large. It was light and fluffy. It was sweet, but not overly sweet. But the best part about it was the lemon. LEMONFLAVOR. I hate getting muffins that say they have a flavor in them, but lack any discernable taste. I gave a taste to my husband and he was even surprised by the strong lemon flavor. They do a little swirl of lemon«stuff» on top of the muffin, too. I should have had the car turned around and gotten a dozen to take home. The coffee was fine — they have lots of different flavors for beverages, so you can be sure to get something you like. This will definitely be a stopping point for me when I’m in the area so I can load up on muffins and whatever other goodies I need to grab. Oh — for all we bought it was around $ 7.50, so it was pretty cheap, too. Bonus!

I can’t believe I’m the first reviewer for what is a lovely little bakery, sandwich, and ice cream shop in Roscommon. Excellent service from people who really care about their business and good, fresh food. Try their chicken salad sandwich or club sandwich and one of their delicious coffees(seriously — a latte so perfect that no sugar was needed — drink that Starbucks with your burnt beans). Locals in the store raved about their sticky buns and when you hear other tables stand up and come thank Chef Lorie for a charming lunch … you know you’re in the right place. Even if you are only in town to fill up your gas tank at the BP across the street … do yourself a favor and get a snack! The only reason why I didn’t give 5 stars is they ran out of their Broccoli and Cheese soup — must have been good — bummer I missed it. Well — it left room for me to now stand up and get ice cream!
