The Romeoville library is absolutely terrible. I recently talk to the regional manager about items that were taking out by some random person that found my lost library card. The head manager inform me that i WILL be liable for the items that were taken out, because i did not report my library card stolen immediately. I DID report my library card missing the next day, and i went to the library to get a new library card the next day when i realized my library card was missing. Now the head manager is stating that i now OWE the library almost $ 300.00. For items that i DIDNOT take out. This library is full of incompetent librarians, and people say it’s always been like that. That’s why there clientele is lower than many other libraries. How in the HEK do you let someone take almost $ 300.00 worth of dvd and games out with out checking anyone’s ID or getting a signature? No camera’s are in the building or anything. So i really don’t understand how someone checking out almost $ 300.00 worth of dvd, and games wouldn’t raise a flag in their little minds. Unbelievable!!! At the time when she was informing me about setting up a payment plan for the items that were taking out, and that i WILL be liable for. I couldn’t help, but to tell her that this was not my liability. It was the Romeoville library liability. I mean how in the HEK do you let someone check out almost $ 300.00 worth of items without a redflag going off. This library is obviously full of previous meth addicts that still are too incompetent to work in this regular society, and need some sort of evaluation. I’m baffled about being held accountable for almost $ 300.00 worth of items that the Romeoville library should be held accountable for. I truly hate this library i was pissed off when i only had this library as my only option. I stressed to other libraries how i really preferred to go to their library, because the romeoville library was too basic. My instinct was really telling me to not even go to this library in the first place. Their book selection is even basic. I’ve talk to several lawyers about this, but the case was too little for them to take. I’m so annoyed right now.
