When I first walked in, the woman who greeted me was less than enthused. I told her I had pre-checked in online, and she said ok have a seat, someone will be with you shortly. I was the only customer in the store, with 3 stylists there sitting around doing nothing. I shouldn’t have had to wait at all. Gigi took me after waiting 5 minutes and offered me nowhere to put my big bulky winter coat. So I put it on an empty chair. When asked what I wanted, I said a trim, just to get the split ends off. She told me I had 3 – 4 inches of split ends that would need to be cut off. I reluctantly agreed wanting my hair to be healthy. She proceeded to chop my hair extremely short. Then offered to blow dry it for an extra fee. I said no thanks, it’ll air dry. Once it dried, it looked horrible. The«layers» she gave me are not even, and very choppy. They do not blend at all. I’ve been to Great Clips many times before(never this location) and have always been pleased with the results. With $ 14 a haircut, who can go wrong?! But I see now… you get what you pay for. I will not be back. If you do brave this salon, ask for someone other than Gigi.

I know, it’s Great Clips… what do you expect? It was a Friday afternoon, and the idea of doing my own hair for dinner that evening was overwhelming. I’m lazy. I went in for a shampoo and blow dry(no cut), which ran for $ 28. I understand that is not an expensive price, but at Great Clips??? Ok, they need to make money, too. I called ahead and they were able to get me in within a half hour. I drove over right away, which put me 15 minutes earlier than the appointment, but they got me started instantly… almost too instant. The lady walked me over to the shampoo sink, while I was still wearing my bulky winter coat. Not being offered anywhere to hang my coat or place my belongings, I placed them on one of the stations. The shampooing was a little abrasive. I felt as if she was scrubbing the same spots continuously. The feel of droplets over my face is nice if I’m going for a walk in a light rain, but not while I’m at a salon getting my hair washed. After my wash, I attempted to juggle carrying my things over to the station where my hair was to be styled. In the process, I spilled my latte all over the front on my shirt I had just picked up from the cleaners. For a few minutes, I dabbed the coffee up with the wet towel that had been wrapped around my hair. Granted I am a clumsy walking accident waiting to happen, but the lady didn’t even seem to notice. Once I made it over, she threw the plastic cape over me and began. I admit, the lady did a nice job on my hair, but for another $ 10(or even less) I could of probably got a cut in addition to the shampoo and blow dry at a nicer salon. I spent about $ 35(including tip) and don’t really feel like it was worth the money. I wouldn’t be opposed to going back on another day when feeling too lazy to wash and dry my own hair, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to do so. I’d have to be in a pinch.

I was skeptical at first since it’s so cheap, but I was pleasantly surprised. My hairstylist was Cookie and she gave me a cut from a picture I showed her. She did a darn good job in such a short time(I’ve never had anyone cut my hair in less than 10 mins). I didn’t ask for anything fancy and all I wanted was to shape my hair. The place wasn’t clean, but wasn’t dirty either. She did try to clean the place after her previous client, but I don’t blame her for not cleaning every strand of hair on the floor when there were many others waiting for a cut. And I couldn’t ask for more for $ 14!

This was my first time in this salon, and I will never return. Yun cut my hair, and while the haircut itself was unremarkable, her and her station were both awful. First off, she is obviously a smoker. Her breath was awful. Luckily she did not talk to me much. Secondly, her station was FILTHY. There was hair everywhere, on the counter, on the edge of the drawer, on every flat surface. None of her combs were in the sterilizing solution, they were all on the counter, on a towel. And finally, the scissors that she used to cut my hair had the hair of the previous person still on them when she grabbed them from the counter. Two separate scissors. Oh, and then she glared at me when I left only $ 1 tip. It’s a shame too, since this place is right around the corner from me, and I eat at the restaurant next door to it all the time.

The last few times I’ve had my hair cut I went elsewhere, and I was just trying this place out for the first time. I’m a lady who likes her hair short, and I’ve had stylists balk when they hear just how short I want them to cut it, and as such I’ve been searching for a new stylist. Well, I just got my hair cut here today and had an absolutely great experience! Even though they were busy my stylist took her time with me, and once she heard how I like my hair she cut it just the way I like it, first try, and never once asked me if ‘I was sure’ I wanted my hair short! Thanks so much!

I’ve been coming here for a couple years now. I finally convinced my Mother and my Boyfriend to join me. They don’t take appointments but I learned to call ahead and ask about my favorite Stylist, June. If we arrive when she’s not working, I don’t get a haircut. All the women are friendly and talented so it’s no fault of theirs for my preference to see one Sylist. I just don’t have the patience for helping every individual who is unfamiliar with my type of hair. I have thick, coarse, straight Asian hair. it’s intimidating for most people and I used to think paying $ 75 at Mario Tricoci was my only option for a likeable haircut. June never disappoints me, produces great cuts and new styles for my hair. She’s currently helping me grow out my layers and bangs from last year. God help us, it’s taking too long! Jason and I have accumulated several coupons from the back of Jewel receipts. We’ll be paying $ 7.99 instead of $ 14.99 until the end of Feb 2012. They accept any Great Clips and Competitors’ coupons so don’t be afraid to redeem them!
