I have stopped going there because they can’t even make a hot coffee drink consistently. The last time I ordered a large café mocha, they made it too small. At the time I came in, I was the only one in line. It took about 10 minutes to make the coffee, but the second time I came up to the counter, assuming the drink she was working on was my corrected one, the«barista» said, «No, this is a hot chocolate.» When the manager carried my mocha out into the restaurant, after I had finally given up and sat down, I explained to her that I had this problem before with getting the small size when I had ordered the large. The manager said, «Oh, that’s because they weren’t paying attention, but we’ve got a really good barista today.» Uh, no you don’t. Then my mocha had been placed in an extra cup to keep it warm, and it was lukewarm. Apparently, the barista messed up my drink, then went on to make the next order, and attempted to keep my original drink warm by placing it in another cup. For a $ 5 coffee, this is unacceptable and they’re not very friendly. A couple of the regular workers have scowls on their faces, and I’m the one who greets them. I’d rather brew up HOT coffee at home. Plus, a lot of the booths have busted up benches. It’s only because it’s located across from the University and it’s Rolla. Otherwise, this place would have gone under a long time ago. Food is mediocre and overpriced. Have ordered sweet bagels before that tasted like onions. Again, a few of the staff act like they’re doing you a favor by waiting on you which is infuriating. I can get that at Wal-Mart.

On December 11 at about 9:40, I was hadn’t my latte after watching the them wipe my lid with a rag. When I mentioned it and requested a new lid, the blonde girl proceeded to tell me «it’s just a sanitized towel.» No. It’s not just a sanitized towel. It was a towel that had been used to wipe the counter before my lid was wiped. It’s unknown to me when it was last in the sani solution. It’s also«just a sanitized towel» that has s chemical solution that came into contact with the mouth of my cup. Then she had the audacity to act like I am Wrong for being skeeved out by this«sanitized towel» I’m becoming convinced Panera aims to provide poor customer service nationwide. Btw. I was in the drive they for 27 min.

Overall… ok, but not spectacular. Yesterday orders via the app and wound up missing two bread bowls. Didn’t find out until I got home. Online customer service sent a nice canned response and did nothing in 24 hours. Didn’t bother driving back across town to the store. Yet after a few days, the GM reached out and offered to replace our order. Props for making a real effort to fix the error.

I have eaten here more times then I can count. My favorite is the bacon turkey bravo with cheddar broccoli soup. It’s a real winner on a really cold day. I can’t understand why people complain about this place. If you don’t like it don’t eat here simple as that.

Sorry. I know Panera gets a lot of hype & advertising is over the moon. Maybe that’s why I’m compelled to negate it. Road trip late Sept., 2015. Panera’s Panera, I hope. Not blaming this on you, Rolla, Mo. They have a lot of excellent choices so this review is more about a sandwich. I almost always get a ham/cheese on rye which is pretty hard to mess up. They’re good. Hubby loves Panera, although Old School Bagel has overtaken his heart/cravings. I should have stuck with the usual and not succumb to advertising. I ordered the Turkey Cranberry Flatbread. You know the one they talk constantly about«how to eat» on tv? In their ads it looks rather like a stuffed taco. NOT! The one I got was more like a rectangle.. . but not even. Mostly it was bread with some filling hiding in the crease. «Instead of garden-variety cranberry sauce, one side of the sandwich is layered with a piquant cranberry mostarda. The other side is spread with a zesty, garlic-and-herb cheese spread.» Their advertising. I got no garlicky cheese. The piquant mostarda was certainly not(I make a killer cranberry mostarda), just? Sweet cranberries. I mean, the filling in my weirdly shaped«flatbread» was non existent. I hate REALLY false advertising. BEWARE.

After two hours on the road we pulled in here for a break. I can’t get a latte because there is no milk of any kind, only half and half. There are also no apples available as a side. The squash soup was tepid and had no pepitas on top. My husband’s decaf coffee(which they promised to bring out but he had to go back for) was full of grounds. If this were thirty minutes before closing I could understand, but they are open for another four hours! Run across the street and buy more milk, for goodness sake!

I stopped while traveling — I was not having a good day and faced a long drive home. After stopping at the first drive thru off the highway wanting a cup of soup and a grilled cheese. Found they only had Chili(not want I wanted). Then I remember that there was a Panera Bread near by — got a GREAT bowl of Wild Rice Chicken soup served with a smile and warm greeting by a young man in the Drive Thru(Cody ?? Sorry did not get name but Mgr should let him know he is doing a great job — Saturday 6:30 pm). I am grateful for the hot soup and good service as I arrived home 4 hours later feeling much better than I did when I pulled in your drive thru. Thanks for offering a faster food — that is not fried and loaded with grease!

I stopped here because I’m driving back home and it was advertised on the highway and looked good. It was super busy, around noon, yet they didn’t seem to be prepared for the inevitable lunch rush. There was only one cashier yet lots of people working. It looked dirty behind the counter and the one cashier did not seem to be in a good mood. I ordered the Fuji apple salad, as I have at many other paneras, and the lettuce was wilted. The dressing had a runny consistency when usually its creamy. Of course I will likely not be back, anyway, but I wouldn’t if I lived here.

This is my hometown area Panera. I’ve probably ate here 100 times since it was built in Rolla. Every time I’m on the mainland, especially Missouri, I have to stop at Panera/St. Louis Bread Co. Their breakfast items such as their breakfast sandwiches, my favorite is bacon and egg on jalapeño bagel(when it’s offered) or everything bagel. It’s so good. I love the cinnamon crunch bagel with cream cheese. For lunch their salads and paninis are my go to lunch. I like how they have remodeled this location since I’ve been home. I would of loved studying here in college. They just started where they bring your food to your table. It’s kind of nice instead of waiting for your food.

Food good, not good or so-so. Is a matter of taste here. I toast my buttered bread on the griddle then add cheese, then grill both sides. They do not, it is good bread lightly toasted on one side. I taste no butter used inside or out. This could be the health food craze thing. I believe in the French thought, butter and fat is good thing… But moderation and getting exercise. The onion soup, is without distinction. Definitely NOT French, NOFRENCHMAN would lay clan to it. The cheese not baked, soup itself makes no statement. Salad croutons not a toasted baguette or french bread. Not served hot enough so send you to the burn unit, as some French Onion soups I have had. I can not tell what kind of cheese they used. There are several opinions on the cheese to be used, I like all but the Swiss Cheese. There is nothing to like or dislike, it is just there before you to eat. My mother would love it, she was offended by anything with flavor, after all her chili, it was hamburger and stewed tomatoes with a inch of salt. The mildest chili was to spicy for her. It is a matter of preference and taste.

Oh the bagels and pastries! They have my favorite tea and though I don’t go often, things are always good when I do! Nice staff!

Stopped in here on a Monday morning. The place was dirty, cashiers were short on patience. Ordered a bagel and they said the toaster was broken. Ok, that’s fine. I went to the coffee bar to do it myself, no napkins. I asked for them and they said the manager just ran to the store to get some. WHAT? The mens bathroom was disgusting, smelled of urine! We will not be back. Too many other good choices around.

My wife believes that if you eat here, you will poop perfect little golden turds because it’s so amazing. However, it’s just not that impressive. The food is ok, the coffee is ok, the atmosphere is stressful, and the line is usually painful.

Can’t tell about the food as I haven’t tried many things here and whatever I have tried so far was good to taste. However I can tell about the place. It’s nice and spacious with the tables next to the fire place gives comfy feeling. It is not as big inside as it looks from the outside but of course has plenty of space.

I’m always a fan of Panera food, but this place is not run well at all. The cashiers operate at a snail’s pace, busy or not. The last straw for me was a run in with an extremely rude manager working there named Caroline, who needs to be fired. I ordered a smoothie that took a bit too long to make(I was standing there waiting for a good ten minutes and the place wasn’t that busy), so I politely expressed my concerns to her. She felt it pertinent to put me in my place with an anger-fueled, not-so-friendly verbal scolding. I will not be returning to this establishment; furthermore, I have since influenced my group of friends(who were weekly regulars) to find another place for our weekly get-togethers. Fire this woman. Hire better cashiers.

I have lived in Rolla for more than 7 years working on my Masters and then subsequently the PhD. I owe a lot to this coffee joint and the wonderful staff for providing me with the unlimited coffee and tasty food. Your brain cells are on hyper active mode when soaking in the majestic rolling hills of the ozarks from this beautiful place. The staff stays with this place for ever and they seem to love helping the customers. I recommend anyone one travelling through i-44 to stop here for a cup of coffee and a nice fuji apple chicken salad. My staple for the last 4 years.
