Everyone who gave this place one star really must have their head so far up their behind that they can’t actually taste the cookies this bakery bakes. I’m from the area(living in Queens now) and was born and raised a Tilda’s bakery girl, but I have definitely converted ever since I spent $ 20 on their rainbow cookies(my absolute favorite) and I brought them home and they tasted like they had been sitting out for three days. Decided to try Prestano’s since my parents get italian bread from them. OMG. The rainbow cookies were the most moist & dense I have ever tasted, the traditional italian butter cookies melted in your mouth. They have chocolate covered bacon(sounds disgusting, I know but I’ll try anything once) — and it was AMAZING. This place is definitely a hole in the wall, but living in Queens you begin to learn that the best bakeries are the«hole in the walls.» I guess instead of spending money on renovation and advertising, they put it into their fresh bread and pastries.

I ordered 77 special cookies which were to be ready at 8AM. I received a phone call at 720AM telling me they wouldn’t be ready until 10:00. This threw all my plans into a tizzy as the cookies were needed for a party. Upon arrival at 10, I was not apologized to, but repeatedly told they were understaffed. I asked for a discount for my inconvenience and was again told they didn’t have the staff. That was not my problem… I don’t know how they will stay in business with that attitude!

Oh my! My neighbor told me this place had maple-glazed bacon topped doughnuts, so we just went over. These doughnuts are huge and delicious! A raspberry cigar is stuffed with some of the best filling we’ve ever had, the vanilla cream puffs are exactly what we had hoped for, and the kalamata olive loaf is generous on the olive side. Very nice sales staff. We still have other things to try from our purchases today, but from what we’ve tasted we certainly can say we’ll be back!

Not sure about their cakes but their butter cookies were odd tasting and really blah. Tasted nothing like the traditional Italian butter cookies. The pound that I brought home for a dinner with the family will be going to the garbage can. :-(12.99 down the drain…

This place does the right thing… great bread and nice to people… one complaint if I had to say… the linzatarts need real filling… why ruin a great cookie with artificial filling for god sakes… Use the REAL fillings !!
