Update: Stopped in for lunch today. I had the Greek Salad with diced chicken. The salad itself and dressing were good. The chicken was a bit rubbery/chewy and did not taste fresh at all. My friend had the pastrami sandwich. It was pretty good, but the pastrami seemed undercooked. We did come in close to closing on a Saturday, so maybe that was a problem. However, consistency is very important when it comes to restaurants. This time, I was a little disappointed. I love this place and hopefully my experience will be better next time. PS– The staff was friendly and accommodating as always.

My friend who recently moved here heard a lot about NYPD and said we just HADTO go there for brunch and it was worth it! Expect a wait on Saturday mornings because it seems to be a popular joint but it’ll be worth it! We got a small and cozy table for two and coffee was served immediately. Nothing to write home about but the service was prompt which is always nice! I got the eggs benedict and my friend got the Spanish Omelet. They poached their eggs a little over and I can see the struggle the chef had with the poaching process, but it wasn’t just me – a couple on the table near ours had some poaching accidents as well. Mine was poached over till the point that the egg didn’t ooze yolk so I didn’t have my egg porn brunch moment but the muffins and ham were delish! My friend’s spanish omelet came with a side of salsa which was spicy and had so much bite it was interesting! My stop by the NYPD was worth it!

Let me say I would die for a place like this in NY! We had breakfast here and OMG man oh man let me tell you. The corned beef hash was like real corned beef not the crap you get at most if not all diners! The Benedict with friends menu section was like Sex with chocolate. We all had something different from the omelets, to French Toast to my little benedicts… The décor of this place is also attracting and stuffed with gobs of coolness. Please open me a place in Suffolk County, NY south shore… hint hint hint…

Breakfast was awesome overall but I only have two issues it’s called a New York pickle deli but I was told they don’t have pickles? Kinda wanted a half sour Other issue was we got inside and one sign said wait to be seated the sign above said to basically seat yourself. none of the workers even acknowledged us even the lady that came if after us was confused just takes a minute to say high and I’ll seat you in a few. But food was great I gotta say

This place rocks. I stopped here with a couple coworkers for a lunch meeting and we were not disappointed. This place has a great personality and the food is fantastic. I HIGHLY recommend you try the buffalo chicken wrap with any side. Naturally, the pickles are amazing as well. Give this place a shot for lunch!

Been here a few times and haven’t been overly impressed. Most recently I got a roast beef and jack wrap with some cole slaw. The wrap was ok. Roast beef cold cut with lettuce and a horseradish mayo. Nothing mind blowing here. The cole slaw is a bit overloaded with mayo, but still packs a good flavor. The pickles are very salty, not a lot of sour or tart brine, tasting more like a salty cucumber than the pickle you are probably used to. I like it though because I love cucumbers. Before this, I got a lobster salad roll at lunch. They claimed to use New England hot dog rolls but mine was served on a tasteless sub roll. This was not good at all and I would shy from this.

Neat place. Great atmosphere on the inside; loved the way they decorated. It is seat yourself when you walk in, which I liked. Food is good. I had the roast beef; tender and tasty. I would have preferred a spicier horseradish mayonnaise, but that is okay. Also, this is probably not their specialty. I recommend you ask the waitress, which I did not. Bottom line; great place to eat lunch.

We order a bunch of sandwiches for or office(can you say repeat business?). Their online menu clearly shows that chips are one of the ‘side’ choices. They make us pay extra for three bags of chips because, they say, chips are only for eat in. I show them their online menu that we had printed and that it explicitly shows that the chips are an included side option. They just argued and argued and said no no no. They insisted. OK, I don’t think we’ll buy lunch at a place with such a bad customer service culture. Sandwiches were fine.

Wow!!! I can’t believe after all the years living in this area we have never been here before. It was one of the best breakfasts we have had in a long time. The coconut Nutella french toast was so light, fluffy and flavorful. It was also made with challah bread! My husbands cran-pumpkin pancakes were also perfect and the used fresh cranberries rather than frozen A big plus is that they not only has flavored coffee, they also had it iced in numerous flavors and they had turkey bacon!!! The space is huge, don’t let the name or unassuming store front deter you We will be regulars!!!

One of the rare gems in the area. Only open for breakfast or lunch… so plan around that. The seafood bisque is Oh myyyyyyy good! If I’d have known I would have gotten a bowl instead of a cup. Also had the lobster grilled cheese special… nom nom nom.

This place was fantastic. In the fifth week of a ten week tour, this was the kind of stop we needed to satisfy our hunger. The restaurant itself is decorated with antiques and novelties, but not in a dirty, TGIFridays sort of way. The menu is large and diversified and the staff were extremely friendly even though the restaurant was completely full. Try the seafood bisque, it was made in house and really delicious. My only regret is that I won’t be in the area to stop here again. GETINHERE.

This place is really good. I work nearby and typically only go here for Lunch/have them cater for work events. The owners are very generous and always donate gift cards to various events/fundraisers. Recently I had the Cuban Burger with Sweet Potato Wedges & Dipping Sauce and it was excellent. I definitely want to try some breakfast items here in the near future.

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and always enjoyed breakfast here. They have a great selection, from omelets to different types of pancakes and French toast with unique flavors, etc. The only thing that can be hit or miss is the service — sometimes it’s great, but the most recent time I went, we waited FOREVER for our food. It wasn’t just our table, either. They must have had some type of issue in the kitchen because there were several tables in addition to ours who were constantly peeking in to see what was going on. But the food is good and it’s a nice place to go that has something for everyone.

Have been coming here for years for a quick bite to eat during my lunch break from work. Great salads… Love the Cowboy Salad with homemade Southwestern dressing. Fresh made homemade soups… Seafood Bisque, New England Clam Chowder, Chili etc. Great sandwiches love the Ribeye Sandwich with horseradish sauce. Great Corned Beef Reubens. I don’t think I have had bad meal here ever. They also serve breakfast. Love the homemade Corned Beef Hash!

Both times I have visited Hartford I have eaten at this location. Very nice location with great atmosphere. Feels like a real New York style deli. Fantastic menu phenomenal food taste. Servers were friendly but place is very busy and service sometimes not the greatest. All things considered very good place for a great meal. Sometimes just may need to wait a few minutes for your drink order or to order your food.

What a fantastic hidden gem. I’ve been to this plaza dozens of times and never been inside. I got breakfast this morning and boy was I surprised. The inside has awesome décor that’s trendy but not so much so that it’s pretentious, and the food is spectacular. Definitely check it out. It’s going to become a regular place for my breakfast adventures. PRO: Food was great. I had coconut crusted pumpkin french toast and was very satisfied. Everything was incredibly fresh. Coffee was smooth, delicious, and frequently refilled. Everything else my party ordered looked like something I wanted to try: omelets, pancakes, eggs. Price was incredibly fair given the quality and portions. CON: Struggling to find issues… Got the check a bit early but that was basically it hah

Love the coconut French toast… one of a kind! NYPD is a lovely place on the West side of Rocky Hill to grab a nice Sunday breakfast with some friends. Their breakfast is very tasty and filling to start any morning off on the right foot! Coffee is refilled often. My favorites at the pickle deli for breakfast are coconut french toast and their omelets– which you can get with egg whites. Seasonally they will post french toast specials, for example this morning was a nuttella french toast and a orangesicle french toast. Unfortunately they don’t serve Belgium waffles, one of my breakfast favorites! Throughout the years the Pickle deli has been a great breakfast place for my friends and I to meet up. Conveniently located off 91, plenty of parking, great service and food.

What a mistake Unilocal you lead me wrong! So it is expensive food that seems really cheap. My pickle was half of a two inch pickle… for a pickle deli that is pretty disappointing. My Waldorf chicken salad wrap was disgusting I only ate half because I was really hungry and it was expensive. Way too much mayonnaise to the point I could not taste the apples and knew I was eating nuts only because of the texture. Would not come back what a waste!
