The OB Gyn Place

I recently had a hysterectomy done through Dr. Ribail and the Obgyn Place. The process was very easy and they have treated me extremely well… The whole thing started off a little rocky with a little bit of miscommunication, but the Obgyn Place has completely turned my opinion around with their professionalism and kind treatment. I definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a new OB in the Rockwall area.

So don’t like leaving reviews, but the office staff suck… now the Dr’s, now she is amazing… but if u have rude people, and people who want to say we don’t know what we are talking about, why bother, sorry but that just makes me mad… you either can do your job or can’t, and if you can’t get another job… unfortunately as much as the Dr’s is awesome, have to find me a new one… any suggestions?

After 7 years, 2 children and great experiences, things have changed. The current Office Manger needs a lesson in Customer Retention 101.
We contacted the office 2 weeks ago to set an appointment. Within the last year we have experienced a changed in out insurance policy and asked directly if they excepted our new plan. They acknowledged that our current plan was excepted and the appointment was set. Fast forward 2 weeks. We received a call from, The OBGYN Place, one day prior to the appointment stating that they don’t not except our insurance. After informing the office that they had previously checked on that when the appointment was made, the insurance provider was contacted on a 3 way call.
The insurance provider again confirmed that our policy did cover this particular office, but The OBGYN Place insisted that it wasn’t. The Office Manager at, The OBGYN Place, was however kind enough to refer us to another OBGYN for service, with an extremely rude demeanor. At that point the office manager provoked unprofessional behavior on the phone and indicated that we were a waste of her time and that our history with this office was no longer appreciated.
So, we found ourselves a new OBGYN location in Rockwall, many thanks to the office manager at The OBGYN Place. However, we did recive a call shortly afterwards from the Office Manger at, The OBGYN Place, informing us that they did make a mistake and would know except our appointment. NO THANKS.
To the Dr’s and Nurses that have been so kind to our family over the last 7 years and delivered our 2 children, we will miss you.

Customer Basics 101

I have been a patient here for only 6 months, and I have never experienced such horrible care. The only exception was the second Dr. I saw, Dr. Malwick, who truly listened and explained things to me in a truly compassionate manner. The first doctor I saw, Dr. Riddle, is by far the most self centered, cold, and «rush you out like cattle» doctor that I have ever seen. She is also the one who ultimately told me «we would prefer to transfer your care and records at this point also» during my phone call requesting to have my care taken elsewhere. Why? I’m not sure, but it could possibly be that since I saw her first for a Breast lump, she sighed in irritation and told me it was nothing (when it has now ultimately become something many other physicians are testing). I work in the medical field, a field that works very closely with Breast imaging, and I knew it was nothing to shrug off. I saw Dr. Malwick, and she was great. We moved forward with my issue. My ultimate issue with this practice was the rude, cold, unprofessional, unorganized, and incompassionate nurses and staff. It took me weeks to have an order faxed to Baylor… a fax. Phone calls go without return, hold for long periods, and essentially they do not do anything you ask them to do (the first time). It was like pulling teeth to get these people do their job, and you can forget them doing it with a smile or making you feel cared for! We are at the doctor because we are sick, not because we want to be, and this office has a LONG way to go if they want to provide the patient care we all should be getting. I do not recommend this practice. Dr. Malwick is great, but the nurses and staff just gossiped about «how long she takes while being in with every patient»…and that’s what I liked about her. So, it’s sad a great doctor is surrounded by two faced inferiors. Good luck!

I am a new patient at this office. I was not impressed by the nurse. She was very rude and cold. The nurse practitioner that I saw was nice but I never felt very comfortable talking to her. I have a follow up scheduled so I will see how that goes.

Dr Maureen Ribail is amazing at this place! She is the gold standard as far as Gynecologists go, imho — they just don’t make doctors like this anymore. Caring, compassionate and very attentive to her patients needs, I’ve always felt confident in her decisions and left feeling well taken care off. As far as well women exams go, with Dr Ribail they were a breeze, 15 minutes of engaging, light-​hearted conversation and before you know it, it’s over! Now that’s what every women wants. Highly recommend!
