Unfortunately, I received a call from an employee(Katty the individual who always did our hair/messed it up) of the shop after writing my review stating that«They appreciate my review and everyone is entitled to their opinion, but they didn’t want me to come back as a client anyways» Obviously because of the 1st review I left. Unprofessional. TWICE she stated«It’s okay we don’t want you to come back as a client anyways» as if the first time was not enough. Then she attempted to run down a reason/excuse for every issue that I had listed. Noting. that she offered the 20 dollars back when I called about it, but in the same conversation she stated she didn’t think it was likely because a week had lapsed. YES, it was stated that I could come and try to talk to the owner and receive the money back but she didn’t know if it could happen. I shouldn’t have to come back to get a refund or my hair redone after my appt. No one wants to go back for a redo… that in itself says that this is not an experience I want again. Then she tried to make it sound nice by saying we aren’t mad. Yet I received a call with a strong lack professionlism. The ironic part was… though I(MYSELF) was not going to return to the shop my daughter wanted to and I had plans on taking her this Sunday because she never had an issue there(she only received simple blow outs) but after receiving that phone call I will not be doing anything of the sort. It sucks because though I had a bad experience, my daughter really liked the place but poor professionalism ruined it for her. GREATJOB! Noting: I stated they had great customer service the first review I resend that statement after having such an unprofessional encounter. I am very disappointed with this experience.

I love this place. I go to Susan who knows how to style my daugher’s hair Dominican style and cut and color my hair beautifully. Her goal is for each customer to feel more beautiful than they did walking in the door. The place is decorated beautifully and all of the stylists are very friendly. I can get an appointment quickly and don’t have to wait between each process on the stylist. I have been going here about 3 years and have never had a bad haircut or color.

I absolutely loved Netty’s! She was very helpful and knowledgable about my hair and what I needed to do in order to get and keep it healthy. She doesnt portray as a dominican salon nor does she use the products, but she knows exactly what she is doing and she is awesome! SN: The shampoo bowl chairs are awesome!

Pros: The guest service was great, scalp massage after my shampoo by Melissa will put you to sleep, and the ambiance was very nice. They have a clean salon with a nice array of quality products. Overall story: They do not promote their business as a Dominican salon per se but the owner is Dominican, which is fine. My hair was clean but wasn’t as bouncy as my old stylist in Miami so I want to be fair and wait until I wrap my hair before I can give a true review so here goes… I wasn’t accustomed to my hair being blown out and flat ironed without some type of heat protectant, serum or product applied liberally without weighing it down. Nelly who’s mannerism was fabuolus made sure that everyone was comfortable. There were pastries, coffee and water available to all of the clients. But I came here for my hair so let’s move on… Nelly styled my hair and indicated that my hair was strong but very dry. I can’t tell a professional how to do their so I allowed myself the opportunity for her to work out the kinks in my hair. After being in the salon for a little over 2.5 hours(I didn’t have an appointment) I came home and tied my hair up in a satin wrap and took a power nap. Cons: My edges and edges are still kinky, not as straight as they’ve been from other salons even if it’s been 5 weeks since I had a relaxer but this is why I prefer going to a Dominican in lieu of a black salon. They’re expensive: wash and set plus deep conditioner $ 70 and eyebrow threading was $ 20, which were threaded thinner than I’m accustomed plus tip = $ 105. Hell, if I had known that I was going to spend $ 100 I would have asked for a relaxer, which is their starting price for touch-ups. All in all, would I return to this salon? Yes, if I could afford their services for hair treatment and no for eyebrow threading. What this equates to is that I have to find a salon that I could afford as I don’t know how to style my hair so I have to go either weekly or bi-weekly without it hurting my pocket. My search continues for a stylist that’s not too far from Rockville, reasonable in prices and treats ethnic hair.

I just came back from Netty’s Salon and I am super happy!!! Sandra saved my hair! My hair was in bad shape after another Dominican salon(in Gaithersburg) put semi-permanent color in my hair instead of the rinse I asked for and it started coming out. Anyway, they were very friendly and the salon is very welcoming! The shampoo bowls and seats are very comfortable. The lady who washed my hair massaged my head and neck so well that I fell asleep. It’s in the Talbot Center on Rockville Pike across from Best Buy.(1085 Rockville Pike)
