Avoid at all costs. My wonderful BF ordered a fruit bouquet and the online retailers sourced the order to Cupcake Dropoff. Never again! He paid for same day shipping, guess what, it showed up an afternoon late. The quality of the bouquet was horrible. A pineapple«flower» look like something from American Horror Show. Some skewers poked though the fruit and it was missing some of the fruit. The note wasn’t centered so some of the words were cut off. I’m certain this isn’t what my BF had in mind for me. I reached out to Cupcake, no response. We both contacted the online vendor and a replacement was supposed to arrive the next day. Five days later and we’re still waiting for it.

I purchased a deal form livingsocial and like others waited long enough for them to let us come in and pickup the cupcakes instead of having them delivered to the house. I went to the location(which was very difficult to find) and went inside. I was very disappointed to learn that all of the wonderful flavors they boosted about on their website were only available special order, and only if you ordered a dozen of one flavor. None of this was included in the fine print of the livingsocial deal or the website. Why would you not have the most unique and interesting flavors out everyday for people to try? I bought to deal for the uniqueness of the cupcake flavors. As for the cupcakes themselves, they were B+. Frosting was good, some of the cupcakes were a little dry. Better than some cupcakes in the area, but not the best I have had. That may have been different had I tried some of the unique flavors, but sadly I wasn’t able to.

I had a great experience with Cupcake Dropoff. I bought three coupon deals with them from one of those limited-time discount voucher sites. I was a little concerned with Aaron B’s review and La’Kesha’s review seems very commercial. They were very easy to work with. Although I didn’t get through on the phone each time I called, I was called back within the hour, generally within the half-hour. I called before I purchased to ask about details and then I bought the deals. They spent about ten minutes talking to me before I was even a customer. They were very kind. I had three separate orders, and scheduled them for a week and a half later since there was no time constraint. The owner(?) worked with me for payment options on the phone because I could not spend more than a certain amount per recipient due to work restrictions. We did all transaction details over the phone and I used the website to reference which type of cupcake I wanted. I called the store on the day of delivery and they confirmed that the cupcakes were ready and even gave me the delivery times so I could prep my recipients. They respond faster this way than they do through email/web-contact form. This will probably make sense, but there needs to be someone at the address to receive the cupcakes so when you schedule, schedule accordingly. Although I never saw the end product, I got multiple thank yous and people said they were delicious. One even said she intends on using the service. Since I live nearby the location, I may try to do a pickup since delivery can be expensive.

A Dessert Affairs has opened in Waldorf, MD. It will be my first and last visit! Definitely overpriced for the quality of product that is produced and only a fool would believe that items are made fresh daily, although there is no baking on the premises! Really? Terrible marketing strategy! I like to support local business, but this I cannot do. There was an apparent promo for the first week being open of free mini cupcakes, as advertised on their FB page(I’m assuming a sample)…wasn’t offered anything. I ordered some a dozen cupcakes and 2 slices of cake… with the price I paid, I feel violated! Both cake slices were dry and the icing(on the cakes and cupcakes) tasted like the same icing you can purchase at grocery store bakeries, and that is NOT buttercream! Sad that Waldorf still doesn’t have a decent place for a quick sweet fix.
