First, I just want to say that I read a lot of the reviews and the restaurant’s responses and I am actually laughing. Personally, I didn’t find the owners to be rude because the guy was pretty nice and made jokes. However, due to the responses to those reviews, I do not doubt that they could be rude. Anyway, on to my review. Wasn’t as hyped as everyone said it was. Fried chicken was PIPINGHOT. Like wow I have never seen chicken so hot before. Even after pulling it apart for 15 mins, there was still smoke coming out. I found that amusing. Fries weren’t great. Coleslaw was good. Dinner rolls were like they bought at the local Giant and put it in a container. Atmosphere was just dirty and ruined my appitite. Overall, I love salt but even I thought it was salty. 3 stars only because PIPING hot chicken and the guy was nice to us. I think I will stick to Popeyes.

Wow, I didn’t expect the ratings to be true BUT I just placed a order and tried to change my order around but the guy was extremely rude! then he stated he doesn’t deliver to my location which is less than 5 mins away and hung up on me! I called back and said you didn’t charge my card right? he said canceled and hung up! customer service is very important I don’t understand why some business forget it that’s the number one thing. Holy cow. This is the slowest place I’ve ever been. 15 mins for a 3 piece meal. Save yourself the time and just go elsewhere.

Worst service I have ever experienced. Used to go to the one in Wheaton and found out there was one out in Rockville. Called and placed my order and the guy was beyond rude. Did not tell me how much, ETA, or say thanks. Call back 1.5 hours later asking where my food is and he answers I am outside his jurisdiction(remind you I live 2 miles away). Says this and hangs up right away. This is unfortunately but I will never order from this place again simply because they are dirt bags.

This place is nasty. I have ordered here twice and they can never get the order right. The veggie wrap I ordered was so greasy. Grease was dripping out of the box. The entire tortilla was so soggy with grease, it was hardly edible. There were not many veggies to be found. It was mostly soggy lettuce and pink, disgusting tomatoes. I’m still baffled by the amount of grease. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else.

We have just recently added this as one of our go to places for dinner on the fly. Had it 3 times now and it hasn’t disappointed yet. The chicken is amazing. I had the burger one and didn’t care for that. It had no flavor at all. Nice staff and food is cooked to order.

Easily the best chicken strips in the rockville area. You can’t beat the value either. The place is run by an asian couple so it has the familiarity and expedient service that you get with a well run asian restaurant.

Chicken is well seasoned(maybe a little over seasoned) and always hot. Fries are crisp and fresh. However, calling in a delivery order is a nightmare. Depending on who answers the phone, the customer service can be nonexistent, rude and quite off putting. The male owner of this establishment is extremely personable and works quickly to take your delivery order(specials included) and get it out to you. The female owner is quite the opposite. In my last experience, she told me the specials without giving the price, asked how many orders I was placing and immediately told me I had to pick up my order because the minimum delivery amount was $ 15 and I was only placing 1 order. I hadn’t even told her what I was ordering yet. When I began placing my order(which included multiple chicken boxes, totaling well over $ 15) she again said I would have to pick it up because I was ordering a special. I pointed out that I often ordered specials for delivery and everything went down hill from there. She told me sorry I had to pick up the order, when I countered that I was calling for delivery because I could not pick up the order. Each time I tried to continue to speak she said sorry. When I told her that the customer service I was receiving was severely lacking she again said sorry, they wouldn’t deliver a special and I had to pick up my order. She then laid the phone down and walked away. I could hear everything going on near the counter. I was at work on my speaker phone, ordering for several people, and waited for the next 20+ minutes for her to return to the phone.(I had placed a delivery order elsewhere while waiting for her to return.) She never returned.

This place is pretty good, for a variety of food, if you’re looking for a quick lunch or dinner in Rockville. They can be a little abrupt if you call by phone. Once I came into the restaurant to order a steak and cheese sub, and the man behind the counter kept pushing for me to get a salad instead. Not really sure what that was about… The food is good though. Lots of fried and greasy stuff, but there are healthier options too.

Nothing like chicken strips and fries for comfort food. I pop in here often on nights I don’t feel like cooking. I made the mistake of getting a non-chicken entrée here once(veggie sub), and will definitely stick to strictly chicken and fries in the future. The family running the place is also super sweet.

Called this place after they placed a flyer on our company business door. Wanted to order the chicken Kabob Salad but I noticed that the cost is more when you order online vise versus over the telephone. Called and explained that to them and no one could speak English or understand what I was saying, instead some guy gets on the phone screaming they will not service our business and hangs up. We tried calling all the numbers…301−770−4300/4301 and 240−441−8683 and all calls went ignored. Not how business should be if you were the ones trying to get our business. Very unprofessional, no one can understand what you are saying to them which forces you to order from on-line where all there prices are jacked up by one dollar and a half almost. New management needed asap, I cant see this chicken basket being in business to much longer in this particular area. Attitudes for no apparent reason. Very rude people… PLEASEDONOTEATTHERE!!! BEWARE! The owners of this place(a husband & wife team) are rude as hell. As a business owner you should never tell regular customer that they’re stupid and did not place the correct order. This is the 2nd review I’ve left on Unilocal regarding this restaurant. Burn me once shame on you, burn be twice shame on me. 1. Never order delivery with multiple forms of payments, they will always get it wrong. 2. Food is rarely prepared correctly. Co-workers and I placed a 12 person order and they royally screwed it up and would not accommodate us at all. They just lost a large group that brings them lots of $$$$.

Step away folks — nothing special to see here. I ordered the 5-piece chicken strips special with fries for $ 6.99. The food came within 10 minutes and was ample. I suffered from indigestion 5 hours after eating here. What’s the point of a bounty of food for your buck if after eating here you feel 20 years older than you should ? The fries come with Old Bay seasoning –but– nobody asks if you want it on yoru fries and it doesn’t say on the menu that fries come with an avalanche of Old Bay on top. I like it but let me add it myself! The chicken strips are your basic frozen strips, deep fried crispy –but– it tastes like they use the oil until it’s past its prime — change your oil more often captain ! The ketchup is in Heinz bottles but it is clearly not Heinz ketchup(I am a Ketchup connoisseur and know that you’ve been playing with the bottles and putting some ketchup concoction deal with more vinegar inside those bottles !) The strips come with sauces and it is tangy but a bit weird. I’m passing on this place. Keep your basket to yourself Chicken Basket !

i was trying to deliver from chicken basket. i have ordered a couple of times before but this time the man on the phone was extremely obnoxious. i wanted to make sure what i ordered as the lady before couldn’t understand what i was saying. i asked about the delivery charge and how much it was. and the man started shouting«you’re stupid you’re stupid» and then he started CURSING me only because i was trying to clarify my order. really rude. wouldn’t recommend at all. extremely bad customer service. the man hung up on me. that’s not a way to treat a customer. never ordering ever again. wouldn’t recommend either *** Response to Comment from JW S. of Chicken Basket(OWNER) First of all money is not the problem here. I had already placed my order. I originally called back to give my card number for delivery. When the man used foul language and hung up on me, I called back multiple times to speak to the manager/owner. Regardless this is absolutely no way to treat a customer. I have been a regular customer of chicken basket. Never had any issues in the past. Uh, hahahahahahahaaaaaa, if you read below, they finally answered my comments… almost 2 years later. This is much like their service… late! My original comments from December 2010: If I could leave zero stars, then I would. My co-workers and I ordered lunch from this place at 12:15…it is now 2:15 and we still have not received our order! The people on the phone don’t seem to care either. They just say that the guy is on his way. We are 3 blocks over! It’s difficult to drive because we have limited parking here at work. Food just got here and of course it is cold… NEVERAGAIN!!! Their reply on 11÷1÷2012! Hi Gary, Very sorry that you had to wait 2 hours for your lunch. We have our slow moments and then we have our busy moments. Sometimes customer order all at once, so when we’re busy, we sometimes tell our customers that our delivery would take long time. In your case, I think we received your phone call and then we started receiving calls from other customers as well. We understand that you’re upset with our service. People enjoy eating our food and the owners cook customer’s food, so our service is pretty straight forward. I hope we can hear from you again– Me again: A joke no less from these people, right? :)

I had had a fried chicken craving for about two weeks before we decided to go to Chicken Basket. Unilocal’s location seemed a but off — trying to put us a block closer to Rockville Pike than we needed to be. In any case, pretty straight forward experience. Fried chicken was tangy and crispy, the fries were seasoned with Old Bay(an easy way to win me over) and the cole slaw was surprisingly light on the dressing. We waited about 15 min and carried out. I’d definitely recommend.

The food is pretty good. I have had a couple of subs and they were ok. The fries are really nice and crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Prices are good. Not someplace to take a date, but for lunch at work for $ 5 or $ 6 it is good to go
