When its popular, great spot to go. Just be careful on nights that are busy, the bouncers are extra aggressive and nasty type people. Ive seen a bouncer attack a guy for just making jokes!

The short rib tacos were good. The sweet potato fries were good. The wings with chipotle bbq lacked actual chipotle. The wings also were like spare pieces from what I don’t know. The brunette bartender with the crooked teeth was rude. She was much more interested in the other clients than in keeping all clients happy. She slammed down the drinks to the point where they spilled over and did not clean it up. She made snide remarks as she walked away. I will not be visiting here again. 06÷15÷16 — Wednesday

Another pleasant surprise I discovered through Groupon! Because what better way to celebrate my roommate’s new job than with craft beers and delicious burgers? Casual atmosphere, and above-average food for a bar! Definitely get the Cajun tater tots. They’re very family friendly as well, since I saw some people bring their young children in for dinner. Overall, it’s a cool spot to drop into once in a while if you’re a local — but not really somewhere to go out of your way for.

Great bar with a local crowd, looked like a lot of service industry folks. Bartenders willing to please with heavy pours. Darts in the back, looked like they ran dart tournaments as well. Definitely a «go-to» when I’m in Rockville

Really good pub. Very good quality beer selection(they need good dry ciders) and excellent grub. We had the Texas chili(lots of meat and flavor) and quesadilla with steak(chargrilled and tender). The guacamole is really good too.

So awesome! Was at Croxley’s earlier and wasn’t pleased with the service after Leigh left. Went across the street to this bar and what a blast! Toni was extremely attentive and friendly. I would definitely recommend for any out-of-towner like myself. Will definitely come again when in town! Toni is the best!!!

Terrible service! I was there last Friday. The bartender had an attitude and refused to serve us after spending decent money. She claimed we were too loud. Too loud for a dumpy bar?

If you want to enjoy a great time with a cold drinks in your hands with coworkers and friends this is NOT the place to go. Several of my colleagues and friends decided to try a new place that seemed to have good reviews based on food, drinks and people, in our case this was not the deal this evening. Apparently the young brunette long haired bartender in the front received a complaint from one customer of how loud our group was being and decided to tell one of us to keep it down. We are not the type to get plastered and howl to make people feel offended or uncomfortable for one, if you have new customers coming in and giving you businesses the best thing is to be courteous instead of telling us to leave. All of us were having a great time taking pictures and evening admiring the place on how great the service was and mixed drinks being made correctly. its understandable when you have regular costumers coming in for their normal bite to eat and they want a quiet time, but to be honest who goes to a bar for a quiet time. Instead the bartender could have been more professional instead of swinging her hair back and forth telling us to leave because we were to loud, no one was being loud. If you think laughing and taking pictures is loud then working at a bar is not a place you or your nasty attitude. We paid our tab and took our business else where, and to be honest it was great. My next review will actually be at that place. I feel the bartender rather serve a different clientele. Customers always remember a bad experience and are more likely to share it and in this case am happy to share it at Unilocal. Whats more disturbing is later finding out that the bartender charged us full price instead of Happy Hour price, I guess it was her way to stay«Never come back».

I went with my wife for dinner yesterday to the Dark Horse Tavern using a groupon certificate. It was our first time their and unfortunately our last. We were seated quickly in an area with a few tables and a very loud bar crowd. The menu is not very expansive and included the usual bar food staples such as burgers and chili. We ordered for starters a French onion soup and a chili and two burgers for dinner. The French onion soup was good but the chili was very watery although not bad. The problem was service which was a all time low for us. It took over 30 minutes to get our starters. We then waited for our burgers another 45 minutes. We were NEVER told there was a problem just your food will be out soon. My wife is diabetic and this created a potentially dangerous situation for her. This treatment is unacceptable under ANY circumstance. After over an hour we packed our burgers and left and had dinner at a burger king. The price to value ratio is about average for this type of restaurant. This was a horrible experience and I will not be returning.

I went in here for a drink and some wings and fries around 12am and it was empty all of a sudden a bunch of college kids came in. Bartender was taking shots with these potential minors and 30 min after order wings and fries I asked the bartender if the food was almost ready if not we’ll just pay for the drinks and go and he told me THISISNTTACOBELL… I’m sorry but being in the industry for 8+ years, that’s Rude! Simply tell me you’ll go check on the food! No need to be so nasty! If you can’t handle more than one customer than you shouldn’t be a bartender

Went this past Friday to have a drink or 2. Honey BBQ Wings are delish but I was not feeling the potato skins. They put pulled pork inside of the potato. It throws your tastebuds OFF. Well Vodka and cranberry were average. It’s just ok.

Good atmosphere. Friendly people. A bit small. Slow service. Went on a Saturday and wasn’t that busy but we had to wait a while just to get our food. Was expecting more.

Had their $ 14 «Prime» & $ 12 Bulleit Burgers, both asked to be cooked no more than MEDIUM, but they BOTH came out extremely DRY&WELLDONE! Decided to live with the Bulleit as our 2 waitress’ serving us took a good 7+ minutes to come back to our area(not to our table to check on us, had to catch one of them at another table). Pointed out that I asked to have my «Prime» Burger cooked MEDIUM not WELL, & waitress was like, Oh, so it’s a little more towards medium-well, & I was like no, it’s WELL-WELL. She was like, «Well, uhhh… it’s going to take a long time, like a HALF-HOUR or MORE to cook another, you know that?» What!!! There was like a total of 8 people in the bar & it was only like 5PM!!! So, I simply stated, «However long it takes to prepare properly, I’ll wait, I just want it cooked the way I ordered.» The wait actually was only about 8 minutes to make another one, but when my it came back it was definitely somewhere between, medium-well to well done. At that point I figured there’s no way they’re going to get this right & I should just live with it as I’m starving & if I keep sending it back I’m libel to get a little something extra in my food I didn’t bargain for no matter how calm & polite I am to the waitstaff. I have to say though, they seem to have a decent selection of quality craft/micro-brew beer & they do give a decent portion of fries/tator tots, etc. on the side that were good as long as they are hot(1st batch of fries were only lukewarm). Also, I’d say if burgers were cooked as specified & waitress came over to check on us earlier after serving the food to deal with our problem in a timely manner & without making excuses for how long it would take to make another burger for me, I’d probably happily give this a 4 star review. Unfortunately, do to our experience that was a real turnoff & with so many other great options in the immediate area, I’d have to say we will not be returning.

Yes, this is definitely a dive bar. Not what you would expect to find on this street. The music selection is probably the best feature of the Horse. You probably don’t want to go here to eat, though. The burgers are good, as are the fries, but the menu is very limited beyond that point. The booths are very cramped, as you can barely get out from behind the tables. The outside area could be a winner if they get rid of the picnic tables, and put some real tables in place. It’s also not the best feature to have to look into the kitchen on you’re way to the backyard. This place could easily move up to five stars if they would consider a minor makeover.

Great place for cheap specials and to watch a game. Pros: .25 cent wings and others cheap deals during games. Excellent wing sauce selection. Friendly staff. Good frozen bar food. Jukebox! I will keep going back for those ghost pepper wings. Cons: The wing quality really isn’t great. The food isnt fresh. You order from the bar. Beer selection leaves a lot of be desired. In closing, fun and cheap divey bar for drinks and quick eats. Will definitely be back for those reasons.

Can’t beat $ 0.25 wings on a game night here! So many sauces to choose from, even as hot as ghost chili pepper. The raspberry chipotle was a different flavor but a little spicy and really good. Standard hot was your average Frank’s Hot Sauce, but again really good. The fried pickles were the star of the night for me. They’re thinly sliced and the batter was nice and flavorful too. We also had the pizza rolls which are like pepperoni & cheese egg rolls. They were OK but a bit too greasy for my liking. Drinks were decent and well poured. There was a gametime special on domestics but the only domestic on tap was PBR, the rest were bottles for $ 3.

Came here on Saturday night around 1am with my friends and got so drunk. The place had a lot of people and a live dj. Everyone was friendly and and danced together. Can’t really write much because I was intoxicated as you should be at a bar lol

My boyfriend and I split the Golden Garlic Wings(blend of franks red hot sauce, butter, and roasted garlic). They were too tangy for me. I had the juicy lucy burger with bacon. The bacon tasted microwaved… such a simple thing to fry bacon, people! It adds so much flavor. The burger and fries were meh. There’s much better bar food in the area, might come back for drinks.
