Nordic Impressions is the only shop in this area that sells merchandise from the Nordic countries, and they have a unique and large selection to choose from! They’re on Bearskin Neck in Rockport, kind of nestled between non-descript shops(one of which is now out of business). If you’re looking for food, music, books, home goods then you will find them in abundance at the shop! The staff, particularly the owner, is tremendous. Nordic Impressions closes during the winter, however, they have a notice on their door that they will open up if you call and have something you want to buy. My boyfriend and I needed to buy a book of Norwegian fairy tales, so we called the owner, and within ten minutes on a brutally cold January day she was there and had the shop open for us! Now that is customer service that you don’t normally see! If you’re a fan of the Finnish brand Marimekko then you’re really in luck because they have a huge selection, reasonably priced compared to other stores that stock Marimekko, to choose from. Once a year, I can’t help myself and purchase a new purse. They have fabric, napkin holders, cups, purses– you name it. When you enter Nordic Impressions you can tell that it’s an authentic Nordic experience. From the music, to the displays, to even small items like soap everything for sale is from the Nordic countries. The prices are a little high, but you have to remember that most items have been imported from northern Europe. If you’re in Rockport, you should definitely stop by and give Nordic Impressions a chance to wow you with their fares!
