A week after dropping it off, they never called me to let me know they weren’t going to work on my laptop because they felt it was unserviceable. When I did call to find out the status of my laptop, Mark said he didn’t even attempt to look at it. I said, «okay, so what do I owe?» He then LIED and stated, «$ 50 because I tried to take it apart…» WTH?!? He says he wouldn’t even take a look at it, but he’s charging me $ 50 for trying to take it apart?!? He then caught himself in a LIE and stated he was just going to charge me $ 10. I just went along with the phone conversation just so I could pick up my laptop without anymore BS. After picking up my laptop, I could tell NOTHING was done to it and I was charged $ 10 for my laptop to sit in their shop for over a week. Very, very disturbed & disappointed by their way of doing business. UPDATE: 11.18.15, after reading Mark’s apology and«attempt» to rectify the situation by refunding the $ 10 charge, it still DOESNOTCHANGETHEFACT that he LIED about wanting to charge me $ 50 for work he said he did, just after he stated«he didn’t even look at it…» AND they didn’t even bother to call me at all. Mark may just have«selective» memories. As far as the receipt they provided me when I went to pick it up, I had to wait 15 minutes for them to create a bogus invoice to show some diagnostic charge for $ 75($ 75-$ 65=$ 10). As a former seasoned employee of Intel Corporation &HP, I can assure you, the only repair that needed to be done to my laptop was to replace the jack. The laptop works just fine. Mark: Please do not call my contact number again. You can snail mail my refund check if you’re really sorry, because $ 10 worth of work was NOT even done. Here’s something funny: When I first walked into his shop to drop off my laptop, Mark asked how I found out about them. I replied, «Yelp.»

These guys are the best! Dropped my computer off yesterday with a horrible virus… told them it was my work computer and they put a rush on it and I had it back today. They are so nice and can explain things in a way I understood since I’m one of those less techie people. :-) wouldn’t take my computer anywhere else! Really appreciate the turn around and customer service! The fees are incredibly reasonable as well!

As a small business owner who relies heavily on my computer, I am comforted that such a professional, knowledgable, friendly and skilled group of folks are in my community. I’ve used the services of My Wire Guy Computer twice in the past year(on different computers), and I HIGHLY recommend them. My computer requirements are complicated, and Alex, my technician, tackled the challenges with apparent ease. He was patient, respectful and gave me a lot of time for a reasonable price.

I was having a simple issue with my web cam where people could not hear me on Skype. I took it to My Wire Guy to see if they could fix it. I was told the web cam needed to be replaced. I also had some viruses that needed to be cleaned up. The problem was fixed in a timely manner. Once I picked up my laptop and took it home I realized there was a new problem with my keyboard. It appeared to be a stuck key. This was a new issue that had never happened before. I called the shop and explained I was bringing it back in the next day. They found the keyboard needed to be replaced and acknowledged I could not be held accountable. The laptop was fixed with no additional cost to me. They were always polite and very courteous. I would definitely recommend them to any and all of my friends.

Mark is a fantastic ‘all around’ electronic consultant! While I was picking up one of my computers he fixed, I discussed some issues I was having with my home theatre system. I had been frustrated because both Best Buy and Fry’s Electronics did not have solutions to my questions. As it turns out, Mark was able to make great recommendations and help to identify the ‘missing pieces’ I needed. Within the next week, he had the items at his shop for me to pick up. I was having problems with my win 8.164 bit computer… I can’t be without a computer for very long. I took mine in on Thursday and told them I needed it for the weekend. EVERYTHINGTHEYDIDWASASPROMISED. They upgraded my system, cleaned it up a bit, and got it back to me at a reasonable price. I have no problems giving these guys FIVESTARS.

A year and a half later My Wire Guy is still a great resource for me. Sometimes I have some pretty specific requests, swapping power supplies, fixing crashed computers. They even were able to help me set up a local server! I have NOCLUE why Unilocal would hid all of the other reviews… but I would highly recommend reading them before making any decisions.

My laptop crashed and I found these guys on Unilocal… Mark was very helpful when I called, but it went down hill from there. You may want to look elsewhere for your computer repairs. They are not real good at calling. I had to follow up with them every step of the way. I agreed to a clean up of my laptop, and a new antivirus program(Avast was the culprit of my crash). I picked up my computer, excited to get it back! When I got home and started the thing I got a windows error message. UNABLETOSTART… WINDOWSREPAIR… WTF… I thought Mark said«this is a good machine, you shouldn’t have any more problems with it for a while» Did these guys every try booting it up? I finally got the thing running after about an hour of tweaking it. Next morning I boot up fine, but it soon crashes. I call«The Wire Guys» Nobody answers(typical voicemail) I leave a message… No return call. I guess I’m out the $ 160.00, and I still need to have somebody look at it. Thanks Mark Update: Mark called me back to try to make things right, but I think I’ll try someone else.

I left my computer with Mark after a hard drive failure. Prior to the failure, my computer had been running pretty poorly and I was considering a reformat of the drive but didn’t get a chance to do it. Fortunately, I saved all of my data prior to the failure. I took it into Mark and he recommended a solid state drive as well as a Windows 7 upgrade. It was cheaper than buying a new computer with the same components so I said sure, go for it. The gist of it is that the computer now boots up faster than my phone! It used to be the opposite, the phone booted up faster than my computer. He did an awesome job on my machine and his recommendations were spot on from the hard drive to the anti virus software to backup services. I’ve been using it for a couple of days and it works really well better than it did new. The cherry on top of this experience is Mark himself. The guy, unlike most computer«guru’s» out there, is incredibly personable and friendly. I’m slightly knowledgeable and instead of ignoring or dismissing that as most of these guys do, he gave me credit for it. He just knows how to deal with people and that is worth it’s weight in gold and always has been. If you’re looking for a GOOD, no AWESOME, computer guy in the South Placer or East Sacramento County area, you’ve got to go see Mark. You will not regret it, I guarantee it! He is now the go to guy for my entire family and anyone I know looking for computer services.
