Love, love Spider Sushi. Have tried lots of different rolls and haven’t found any that I didn’t like yet. Will keep coming back to try more options. Highly recommend for dine-in or carry-out.

I’m used to paying more in Chicago for what I got in Rockford. Nice portions, fresh and quite tasty. Even the normally bland miso soup was 4 star. Rose provided fast and attentive service and I will be back since I have a summer home nearby. Highly recommended.

Pretty average sushi establishment. Didn’t have a two or three roll lunch special like I’ve seen at other restaurants which was slightly disappointing. The food was neither fabulous nor a let down.

This was my first time going to a sushi restaurant here in Rockford. I did a lot of research on Unilocal before stepping foot into this place so I was a bit disappointed when I didn’t enjoy any of the rolls I ordered. I was attracted to the prices and the fact that they had a menu for me to look at online(I needed to make sure they had chicken dishes for my non sushi eating fiancé). The service was great and they had a huge selection of drinks and sushi rolls. I made sure to choose the rolls that did not have wasabi mayo on it as I am not a fan of wasabi at all. However, despite my careful selection every roll had a hint of Wasabi and I found myself chugging on plum wine to rid the taste out of my mouth. I’ll have to try some other spots here in Rockford before giving this place another shot.

Awesome! I’m fortunate enough to travel all over the US and the world and this is the best sushi I have ever. The only negative is the atmosphere is blah.

First time customer. Came for sushi, but found so much more. Generous sushi portions, delicious lunch, i had Beef Teriyaki which was phenomenal. Friendly servers answered questions with a smile. Prices were reasonable for what we received. Will definitely be back again.

I absolutely love Spider Sushi! They have a large selection of sushi as well as hibachi and noodle dishes. As a relatively new lover of sushi I was happy to be introduced to this restaurant because of their large selection of rolls(many of which include fruit) that allows me to try something new every time I dine here. While this restaurant is not as fancy as JMK or Shogun, it has a nice cozy atmosphere. Staff is polite and has always been willing to provide suggestions. They are also always willing to accommodate me and exclude avocado and/or sauces that I don’t care for from my rolls. I have never been disappointed in the food and would highly recommend Spider Sushi. It’s one of mine and my daughter’s favorite places to eat in Rockford!

This place has pretty decent sushi. No better or worse than any other place I’ve been, and the prices are on par with what I’ve paid before. My fiancé and I met up with some family one night when I was in town. For all 5 of us to eat, it was about $ 75(which included a couple alcoholic drinks) so it wasn’t terrible at all. My fiancé isn’t a huge fan of sushi so he always ends up getting hibachi, which he said was pretty decent.(On a side note, I can never really taste a different between«great» and«not too bad» hibachi — it just all tastes the same to me). I opted to get the Shrimp Tempura roll and the Scorpion Crunchy roll. They were both pretty good and overall I was satisfied. Service was also really good, no complaints at all. If you want really good, fresh sushi then I would probably recommend JMK instead. But this place is decent and is slightly less expensive than JMK. And probably not as busy on most nights. Overall, good but nothing crazy amazing.

At first glance, this is a fast food joint operated by hispanics. After eating the sushi, this is not«authentic» by any means. We ordered gyzo, the dipping sauce was separated. It was a layer of soy sauce, layer of sesame oil, and water. Gross! The Thor roll and Samuri roll tasted exactly the same. The fried rice tasted more like mexican food than Asian. Even adding soy sauce to fx the flavor didnt help. We eat sushi often. If you do, I wouldnt come here. Its not good and too expense! The two stars is for the cleanliness of the restaurant and the friendly staff.

I absolutely love this place! Typical prices for sushi. Always seem to have fresh fish. I have never been disappointed. Also staff is always friendly and helpful. Most are also very knowledgeable about the rolls. I recommend this place to everyone! I love spider!!!

First time I walked in I thought I was in a Mexican restaurant(me being Hispanic) but when I tried the sushi I LOVEDIT! I tried a lot of the super hero named rolls. Never judge a book by its cover. I live an hour away but I will make my way back soon!

I have only eaten the sushi from this place and each time it was delicious. The service has always been quick and kind for me. The place is always clean and I really don’t have a single complaint about it. I will say, however, that as far as sushi places are concerned this is on the higher end of average with its prices, BUT I still think it’s worth the little extra they charge. I will continue to go here.

Average sushi. The service was good, floors sticky, tables sticky, chef expertise and quality of sushi was average alright. They need to give enough ginger for the amount ordered too.

I will start by mentioning the one and only negative and that is the atmosphere. Spider resides in what was probably a fast food style restaurant in the past. That being said… The food is incredible! I have been several times in the last few years. Some of our favorites are the ramen, ginger pork, seahorse, salads, and pot stickers. The sushi is also incredible(ESPECIALLY when compared to large local teppan style places that have sub par food). Everything is legit and authentic. As I mentioned the seahorse, it is not actually seahorse, but a large and tempura style, lightly battered shrimp with a little coconut in the batter. The shrimp is stuffed with cream cheese before frying and it is served with tempura battered asparagus and a siricha mayo sauce of some sort. It is phenomenal. Kind of spicy with a good toothy crunch. I could eat 5 plates of those shrimp by myself. Always a hit! Lots of attention to detail and presentation and the service is very good.

The food is great. Get the surf n turf. I have eaten here many times and all of my food gas been great. You people complaining about the service can get a grip. We had three complicated rolls that were at our table in 15 minutes.
