Dave’s Hot Dog Stand

Downtown Rockford lunchtime hunger pains? Every April through October, Gene operates «Dave’s Hot Dog Stand» on the Downtown Mall at West State Street. Since the mall is being removed, the hot dog cart is now on the vacant lot at West State Street and Church Streets, directly across the street from the old entrance of the Winnebago County Courthouse.
Gene sells hot dogs made with your favorite toppings, plus burgers/​cheeseburgers, a special sandwich of the day (such as a pork chop sandwich), potato chips (including the Rockford classic Mrs. Fisher’s potato chips), Pepsi products by the bottle, freshly popped popcorn, canoli, cookies, and (for people like me who do not eat meat) a veggie sandwich.
Prices are very affordable.
