They have great BBQ. The best thing on the menu I’ve tried was the BBQ chicken. It’s juicy and the flavor is just amazing. It goes really well with the white sauce.

The food is pretty good… The sauces are gross. Maybe I’m just a snob. I like Maurice’s in Columbia, SC. The slaws are weird. But cool place to hang out.

Great food. Great prices. Great service. Who cares if it is next to a coin laundrymat. Had a hard time deciding between the corn beef open face or Paulis sandwich or ribs. Went with the corn beef and was not disappointed. What a home on the wall jewel!

This is definitely good BBQ. I’ve been twice. Pulled pork is as good as it gets, had that on first visit couple of weeks ago. I had the half rack of St. Louis ribs tonight. Their sauces are unique. Whatever the mop on the ribs tonight, never had that before. I imagine it’s the distinctive finishes they put on everything from pulled pork to ribs to chicken wings that wins competitions. Twice now, someone I’m with ordered the Mac & Cheese. Apparently they need to address that. Was described as so dry and stale, they were left wondering how many days ago it was made. I didn’t bother trying it. But I’m not dinging a hard core BBQ joint over Mac & Cheese. Just order a different side. Dixie Pig is my first choice for BBQ. 521BBQ is a close second.

My 2nd time here and it’s amazing bbq was fresh and the sauces are homemade tea was good and huge amount of food for the money. Nothing tastes like it came from a can or box friendly service always making sure you have everything you need. Only down side is the inside space is a Lil small but they have an outside area covered and heated in the winter so it’s something that has been adapted. Love this place can’t wait to be back again.

This could possibly be the best BBQ my family has ever had. We were in town for a wedding and came here based on the Unilocal reviews. The prices, portions, service, and quality were amazing. The staff was very helpful and ensured we had a great experience. We tried almost every meat and side for dinner and they were all excellent! My only critique is that I wish this restaurant wasn’t 500 miles from home! If we come back to the area, we will definitely be back!

Now, this is the place! Your hometown BBQ joint! I tried this place with my parents on their final night in town for Christmas week. I had read a lot of positive reviews, and my parents always like to try non-chain restaurants before any other. So, from Fort Mill we headed off to TDP. A typical very small, «quaint» local«hole-in-the-wall» building attached to a coin laundry — perhaps just in case you spill a little on yourself? Ok, maybe not… The waitress very nice and easy to work with, as she answered every question we had. We were unsure of which sauce to get so she brought over a sample of each! Very cool. My mom did not like her fried corn on the cob. The waitress was apologetic and allowed her to pick a new side. Very cool. It is simple things like that that would make me want to return. Thankfully, the pork was very good and very plentiful! Almost too much, but that just means there is a carry out container in your future. She even fixed me a small cup with more sauce for the leftover meat. However, it would be nice to see more draft beer options. I’ll be back.

If you like BBQ, this little hole in the wall is fantastic! Located next to a laundromat, be sure to park in front of the restaurant! They have 4 sauces you can choose from– we got Dixie gold which is mustard based and Alabama white, a mayo based sauce. Both were good although our favorite was the Dixie gold. The pork was good and our sides were awesome. Amazing hush puppies, gooey Mac n cheese, sweet but not too sweet baked beans. I hurt myself finishing my portion. They’ve won local awards and it’s well deserved. The icing on this pig shaped cake? The restaurant was CLEAN! The usual greasy grime that you find on the chairs, walls and décor was obviously absent. Those pigs on the shelves near the ceiling were sparkling!

What a cute, tasty little place! The fella and I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon around 2:00, and I think it’s good we were there during off hours because it was still pretty packed then. There are only about 10 tables inside, but they also have a heated, covered porch with more seating. Our waitress was super talkative, which I don’t always love, but you could tell she was genuinely enthusiastic about her job… and why wouldn’t she be when she works at such a fun place. Even the owner came to talk to us and told us that his mom reads all his reviews. Awww. Onto the food! We each got a pulled pork sandwich, but I got the Memphis Magic sauce(sweet, smoky BBQ) and the fella got the House BBQ(more vinegar-y). They came with a huge helping of meat! Delicious. I went with the mac and cheese for my side(creamy and thick, the way it’s supposed to be), and the fella got the black eyed peas and collards. We each got water to drink, but they do sell a few beers and wine, and it was less than $ 18.

Amazing!!! Everyone is so nice, welcoming and friendly! The owner and our waiter were on top of everything and they accommodated my moms allergies and made sure she got some yummy food! The food is the best best best best! Sonnys has nothing on this place. Trust me you won’t be disappointed. We will definitely go again when we are in the area! The berry donut cheesecake dessert melted in my mouth and had me wanting more. Heads up they are moving to a new and bigger location. I’m not sure where since we aren’t familiar with the area.

Absolutely the best pork ribs I have ever eaten. No sauce required on these. They are absolutely amazing. Parking is difficult but we’ll worth it. Very friendly staff. The BBQ chicken is great as well. Select the sauces that are recommended for a perfect dinning experience. I highly recommend the Mac and cheese and hash for your sides, if you have room for it the peanut butter pie is off the chain. ENJOY!!!

The absolute best barbeque I have ever had. I rarely eat meat anymore. It’s usually on occasion and over the holidays. This year for our early Christmas in South Carolina we had this catered. Oh. My. Lawd. It was so good it will make your tongue slap your brain. At least the was the joke at our family’s table. We had the ribs, the Mac and cheese the smoked chicken in Alabama white sauce. Let me just say that the Alabama white sauce is it! That smoked chicken was the best I had ever had. As were the ribs, the Mac and cheese, slow roasted corn on the cob, pecan and pumpkin pie! Oh my! Seriously! The only item avoided were the greens, simply because I just do not have the taste for them. Everyone else loved them. So take everything I said and the scoring of this review and x’s it by 12 because I am speaking for the entire family when I write this! Dixie Pig, I salute you!

Yummy! This place is outstanding. The best BBQ to date I’ve had so far in Charlotte!!! It’s a cute little restaurant, very homey and very BBQ-y if that makes sense! You know you’re in a BBQ restaurant the monte you walk in. Everyone is super friendly. The owner walks around and talks to all tables and helps deliver food also. Awesome aspect to the restaurant. Makes you feel like you’re a valued customer. The food was awesome. The onion dip was so good. The chips were fried wonton chips which was different by definitely something to note. The BBQ plate was 9 $ and huuuuuge. I have at least one more meal I brought home with me if not two. The pork was so tasty and the Memphis sauce I got was fantastic. As always, delicious Mac and cheese and French fries. I can never get enough Mac and cheese. My friends got ribs and a sandwich, they both loved their meals and devoured it the ribs just fell right off the bone and the sandwich was messy but delish(can’t remember the name of it). This place is a little far from Charlotte where I live but sooo worth it. I can’t wait to go back!

We are on our way from Naples FL to Pittsburgh PA, and we stopped in Rock Hill for the night. We found this place on Unilocal(shout out) and were completely delighted with our choice. We sampled everything — beers, food, and the big game. It was all clearly fantastic, and for the small issues(like a salty batter on the fish), we enjoyed our night. The best Rock Hill SC night we had.

One of the best places to eat in Rock Hill! Definitely the best barbecue in Rock Hill! My son and I used to frequent a barbecue joint that is no longer in business. We hadn’t found one that lived up to our expectations until the Dixie Pig. Holy hambone this place makes me want to do a little jig on the table! While the barbecue is incredibly good… and exactly what it’s supposed to taste like… I can’t get over their Reuben(the open faced corned beef brisket sandwich). Reubens are the type of sandwich that is either great… or pig slop. The Reuben here is one of the best I’ve ever had! Incredible! All of the sides work well with the Pig’s offerings… and their beer selection is much appreciated by those of us that prefer craft beers. Where The Dixie Pig really stands out, is their mastery of smoking their meats. Yea… I just said that! If you’re one of those people that takes a while to get around to trying great places. Don’t be… try the Pig now. Try: The open-faced corned beef(aka…The Reubenesque) Avoid: Over ordering(the portions are quite plentiful)

I am not an expert on BBQ. If you want to know about BBQ, ask Sam J, he’s an expert in my book. I do know what tastes good, and damn does their food taste good! The couple of times I’ve gone, this place was very busy. The St. Louis Style ribs are sticky, smoky and delicious — just when I was beginning to forget how much I like eating meat, I had a bite of these bad boys. Screw salad and eat ribs! The Pork BBQ is slap your momma good — the choices of homemade sauces are House BBQ, Dixie Gold, Alabama White or Memphis Magic. The standard sides are all good — Mac and Cheese, Baked Beans, Braised Cabbage and Black Eyed Peas with Collards. Yes! They also have beer! Not to mention homemade desserts like Pecan Pie and Peach Dumplings! You may not fit through the doorway when you leave! Just turn sideways and shuffle your feet!

I have just eaten at the Dixie Pig and couldn’t be happier. Great food– the hash is legit, peas and collards are delicious and the sauces great. I had two of the sauces on the side and my husband had the other two. We tried them all and all were good, but my favorite is the Memphis. They have Alabama white sauce here, which is very unusual for our area. It is better here than in a BBQ place we tried in Alabama! We sat on the porch, which is fine, I’m no prima donna and it is July in SC so it is warm. But, there are ceiling fans moving the air and come fall this will be a great place to hang out. I would suggest putting up screens around the porch due to flies wanting to have a little of your delicious BBQ.. The owner and head cook came by our table to ask about our satisfaction, nice! We will be back to the Dixie Pig soon!

Much needed addition to the Rock Vegas area. If you are looking for a good BBQ joint, here it is. I appreciate that this location, which in a former life use to be two different bars, became a tasty dining establishment rather than another rundown bar. OK so onto the grub. I’ve ordered several items here and haven’t been disappointed with any of them. First time I stopped in I posted up on the patio and snagged the Pork BLT — the name is a bit deceiving as there is no bacon but instead comes with thick pieces of pork belly and a corn mayo MMMM. Quite tasty but the second time I got the sammich the belly was pretty fatty. I’ve also sunk my teeth into the BBQ pork plate(how can you go wrong with a plate of BBQ?), onion dip with house made fried wontons for dipping, and several sides. The potato salad, which I usually skip, was creamy and delish. The mac and cheese was a bit dry both times I ordered it but it may have just been mine as several people have told me theirs was smothered in cheese and really creamy. Plus I’m a pretty big mac and cheese guru so I tend to get judgy on M&C. What I really like about the Pig is the variety in their sauces. Many times BBQ places will promote several sauces but half of them taste the same. The Dixie Pig features 4 sauces all much different and appealing to different tastes: Alabama White(strong vinegar taste), House BBQ(my fav!), a thin, spicy BBQ(try this now), and a gold BBQ(also a pleasure). Be advise this place is small. No. Really small. So on busy nights you’ll need to grab a seat fast. Also, there beer and wine selection tends to be highly lacking in variety. BONUSTIP: I usually end up here on Monday nights for trivia at 8pm. First place winner snags $ 20 to the Dixie Pig and second place winner takes home a full pound of BBQ to enjoy.
