If I could give a «Zero Stars» review here, I would. My most recent experience with Wilson Hardware is one that should scare ANYONE away from this store. DONOTSHOPHERE. Let me preface this story by saying that I am not an expert in electrical appliances. I rely on experts, and prefer to give my business to local establishments run by honest people. I thought I had that in Wilson Hardware… Last weekend, I brought in my string trimmer(weedwhacker) to be repaired, and spoke to someone named Dave. He works downstairs in the electrical appliances area. He told me that I could pay their $ 27 bench fee for them to «perform a fuel system cleanout and replace any lines that may need to be replaced.» He also said that he «[felt] confident that he would be able to get the unit up and running for [me].» He told me that it would be ready in one week. One day later, «Jerry» called me and told me that the unit was not reparable. I asked if I could speak with Dave, who was very short with me and said that the unit was not reparable and that I should come and pick it up. Last night, I showed up to pick up the unit. It was leaking gas, and the fuel lines had not been replaced. I asked if I could leave the unit there and receive an explanation for why the lines had not been replaced. Today, Jerry called me and said«the fuel lines weren’t replaced because that’s a telltale sign that the carburetor is shot.» I asked to speak with Dave, and asked him why he didn’t make that recommendation to me when he first looked at the unit. I also asked what actions they actually performed on the unit. Dave FLIPPEDOUT on me, called me a know-it-all, and said«if you’re not here in two hours, I’m throwing this thing in the dumpster.» Then, he hung up on me. Shortly later, he called me to say that he figured out that the disconnected line on the unit was actually a vent line, and took another shot at my knowledge of such things. I was treated more poorly by Wilson Hardware than I have been by any local establishment that relies on trust, repeat business and local support. I urge you to take your business elsewhere. Choose local if you can, choose HD& Lowe’s if you must, but NEVER choose Wilson Hardware!

My neighborhood hardware store! Personable, helpful and knowledgable are the trademarks of this quant place. Preferable to the corporate suburban stores.

Wilson Hardware seems to have two parts. The upstairs is a hardware store the downstairs sells and services power equipment(e.g. lawnmowers, chainsaws, …). I have no complaints about the hardware part of the store; we lived near by several years ago and it was easier than going to a big box store. The downstairs part, however is another story. I had a very bad experience there and would never go back. Fortunately, the equipment manufacturer understood the problem and I got my money back, despite Wilson Hardware.
