A jack of all trades, master of none — this is how I’d describe Malt and Market… but not in a bad way. It’s literally the perfect convenient stop if you want to grab craft beer, a bottle of wine and some liquor of your choice. One-shop stop. It’s connected with Hollywood Liquor and Wine and across the street from SEA, which means it’s pretty much right off of the Monroe Ave exit on I-490. Quick in and out and good parking. Beer selection is better than wine and liquor but it looks like they’ve been downsizing lately. They used to have beer tastings and food, including Boar’s Head meats. That’s all been shut down, which makes me wonder what’s in future for this place. Irrespective of this trajectory, it’s an über-convenient stop on the Monroe Ave take-out route with fairly reasonable prices.

Pretty decent selection of craft beer. I haven’t hung around to eat or to have drinks, so I can’t comment on the service or food quality, so I am reviewing this strictly as a beer store. They do reasonably well utilizing their space — the choices of breweries and beer is pretty good. They do get some of the special limited release beers that hit town. Prices are average. The prices aren’t generally as good as Nathaniels or Hegedorns from what I’ve seen, but they don’t gouge you like Beers of the World. They do growler fills of the beers they have on tap, as well as serving pints to drink on premises.

Good Place For good grub. great selection of subs and sandwiches, fresh salads and soups. Great beer Garden out back and six Draft lines to either enjoy a cold pint or take home a growler to enjoy later. Beer and wine are Dine and take out. fun place to stop in for lunch or for happy hour as an alternative to the bigger bars in the area
