The very best breakfast sandwich at the market and in my opinion, in the city. It’s greasy, full of fat and calories and like a taste of heaven in your mouth. The coffee is strongish and spot on too!

At first glance, Scott’s II looked like something I wanted to stay away from, but the food and big lines pulled me in. My ordered was taken quickly and I only had to wait a few minutes before I got my hands on the breakfast sandwich with bacon. The first thing that stood out was the thick bacon. None of that cheap, thin, crappy bacon that most definitely chains use. This is the stuff your grandma used last time you had bacon and eggs at her house. Next, the bun was the next thing caught my attention — firm on the outside, soft and chewy inside. They are from a local bakery and really held the sandwich together(pun intended). The egg was just right and I chose to put a touch of Frank’s Red Hot for a bolder taste. Grabbed a stool along the counter and enjoyed the morning evening though it was freezing! The breakfast sandwich made shopping a breeze and warmed me from the inside out.

Have you ever had a breakfast sandwich? Now, have you ever had a breakfast sandwich on steroids?(Not literally but figuratively!) I have been coming to the market for years and have never stopped here. But, one day my co workers and I decided to pop over and grab some breakfast sandwiches — I was not disappointed to say the least… the best one I’ve ever had… how can you go wrong with 3 whole entire pieces of bacon on a breakfast sandwich? You can’t. The staff was friendly as well as the patrons sitting around the counter. If you’re ever in the area stop at Scott’s ll for a bite and good conversation. I promise you’ll love it.

So they’re known for their breakfast sandwiches here… shared one with my bf with canadian bacon. Best part of it was the bread, everything else was just ok. Satisfied our hunger, but nothing to really write home about. Would have been better(well I guess messier too) if the egg was not so well done. Then again, I’m a sucker for leaky eggs. $ 5 is a fair price I guess, but again, nothing I’ll get again probably.

From the moment I heard Frau say I had a clone I knew that I’d be safe cuz I’d never be alone. An evil doctor shouldn’t speak aloud about his feelings, My hurt and my pain don’t make me too appealing. I’d hoped Scott would look up to me, Run the business of the family, Head an evil empire just like his dear old dad, Give him my love and the things I never had. Scott would think I was a cool guy, Return the love I have, make me want to cry, Be evil, but have my feelings too, Change my life with Oprah and Maya Angelou. But Scott rejected me, c’est la vie, Life is cruel, treats you unfairly, Even so, a God there must be, Mini Me, you complete me. The sign says«compare our prices to anyone else’s» and I really think that’s the selling point, because the prices are pretty good(not earth-shatteringly mind-numbingly low, but nevertheless affordable). I think the food itself is not earth-shattering or mind-numbing either, though. So I ordered a hamburger with onions and meat sauce, and I ordered a brekky with eggs and sausage. I soon wolfed down the burger, and then only the Brekky was left to keep me company. It was«just the 2 of us.» I wanted to give this place a 5, really I did. Their prices are absolutely excellent and their popularity is obvious from the long lines and swarms of people at the market. But having just been blown away by the breakfast sandwich from Union Street Bakery, I wasn’t really moved by either the burger or the brekky here. The prices are excellent, but neither one was amazing. They were somewhere between average and good. The burger was wet enough for me and somewhat tasty, but the meat sauce tasted a little sugary or syrupy, and there maybe wasn’t enough«stuff» on it. The breakfast sandwich had a pretty standard broken egg that was just a little dry, and the sausage patties they put on there(two of them) were not as juicy nor as tasty as the excellent one over at USB. So all in all we’re talking about a 4 out of 5. But if you’re at the market, and you’ve already tried the likes of USB’s Brekky and Juan & Maria’s, then it’s well worth giving Scott’s a try. But if Scott’s consider themselves the best brekky in town… when they’re just across from the USB… how ’bout no, Scott?

You visit the Public Market, you get a breakfast sammie at Scott’s II. Swing by the hut-like eatery as you prowl the market for fresh veggies and local meats. It’s located near the Railroad St. entrance and they’re open during Public Market hours on Tues., Thurs., and Sat. Frying up bacon and sausage on the flattop… why does that always make food better? I prefer this breakfast sando with bacon. What makes it a cut above the rest? The Martusciello’s roll. Always get the hard roll. It’s $ 4 for sausage(two small round patties) and $ 5 for bacon — comes on a hard roll with white american cheese and a fried egg. All I need to be happy after that is a hash brown… bringing me right back to college. They’re fast, sweet, and funny! Try not cracking a smile as you wait for your meal. If there’s a spot available, enjoy it at the counter. I’ve yet to try the lunch options so that’ll be my next adventure. Perhaps to try the Nikki burger and/or a garbage plate!
