Best gym in town and the most reasonably priced. New members get a free 30 min session with a trainer! Talk about a welcoming environment. The welcome center staff is very friendly and the group fitness classes are amazing. Things from Insanity to Zumba, Yoga and more. Great environment for all ages. Affordable child care and great programs for kids year round! They really have something for everyone at the Y in Rochester.

I came from Nashville, TN, and the Y’s down there are way better than up here. I think they are missing something. Possibly they need more area devoted to working out on machines that having 2 basket ball courts and 10 racquetball areas. The men’s locker rooms don’t look (or smell) like they get cleaned often. Another thing is: you need to being a portable FM radio to listen to the TVs in the workout room. In the Y I went to down south they had individual screens on each Elliptical or Treadmill that all you needed were ear buds to plug in and listen, you could also change the channel on each screen. Maybe they should turn one of the gym’s into a workout room because the workout room is so compact that each machine is about ½ a foot away from the next. I think they should make something like a 30 minute workout room. In this what you do is every minute you switch to a new machine so in 30 minutes you would have worked every muscle in the body. All in all, they need a lot of improvements.

I have always been satisfied with the environment and programs offered. We started off by enrolling my sons in martial arts class, and we have been active members ever since. The staff is great. We will be life time members and appreciate the community here.
Everyone here seems really nice. The kids like the swim lessons now and are learning. It doesn’t ever get too crowded. They a swimming pool, running track and complete workout area. It’s a great place to de-​stress.

This is a nice YMCA and has always been accommodating and friendly. It has a nice enough pool with a slide in it for the kids to enjoy. They keep it clean and staffed. Provide a variety of classes and is more affordable than some of the other options in the city of Rochester.
