It’s alright. Classic diner good breakfast is cheap eggs are almost always tinny and not cooked the way you want them. I just stopped in for something quick on my way out of town one morning. A quick stop turned into a 2 and a half hour wait for my food. I only give it 2 star as the good was ok but the waitress was so sweet she did everything she could and offered to pay for my meal as it took so long. I told her no I’ll pay it was like 6 dollars and it wasn’t that bad.

Typical dinner nothing to really rave about nor anything to complain about. Typical American dinner food. Average prices nothing stands out to the good or to the bad.

The Peppermill has been around for quite a long time now. I was never a frequent visitor before, and hadn’t been here in a very long time, despite the diner being in my area. We ordered food for pickup. The staff was very friendly, and the interior was fairly nice for a diner, and decorated for the holidays already. I had the chicken cutlet sandwich. I can only describe it in one word: bland. There was no flavor. The bun was basic, the chicken was plain, and the breeding had zero taste or seasoning to it at all. I had to add some sauce at home to make it edible. The accompanying fries were tasteless, as well. My better half had Mediterranean Chicken. She seemed to like it, stating it was a 7.5 out of 10. The order was ready in 10 minutes, which was a plus. The order total came to about $ 5 more than he prices on their online menu, which was a major negative. Will likely never be back.

One of the larger diners around, The Peppermill has been a Rochester mainstay for years. My mom worked here YEARS ago, and as a result I spent a good amount of time sitting at the counter. I can say with confidence that there has been a great transformation in the appearance from those days. The interior and exterior have undergone renovations and look updated and nice. I no longer know the servers personally, but everyone I’ve encountered on recent visits have been friendly and competent. The food is good. I’d say there’s nothing overly unusual on the menu. It’s your standard fare. I do appreciate that they have hash available for breakfast. This has been and will be one of my breakfast indulgences that I enjoy when I see it on a menu. And they serve breakfast here all day, so I can get it when I want it. Parking is available on both side of the restaurant, and in the last few years they added additional parking on the north side near the back. The landscape around here has changed much over the years, but The Peppermill is still there going strong. I hope they continue for many more years to come.

How are you going to call one piece of french toast a short stack? the word«stack» to me designates multiple items on top of one another. you can’t «stack» a single piece of bread on the plate and call it a stack. honestly.

I recently met a large group for breakfast here, which turned turned out to be perfect since there are enough tables and booths that we were able to relax and catch up without making anyone else wait for our table to open up. The food was your standard diner fare(I had a tasty omelette and a side of fruit) with plenty of options and some solid coffee. Service was quick and friendly and the prices were super reasonable.

If I could eat here everyday I would. The people who work here are amazing, kind, and genuinely nice. They work hard, food comes out fast, and take out is just as good! This place is perfect for grabbing a quick bite, sitting down with the family for dinner and conversation, or sitting having coffee with a friend. The one lady who is always there(i believe her name is Olga) is one of the nicest ladies I’ve met! She is always smiling, never complains, and is always trying to make people feel like they’re at home. I take everyone from out of town here for breakfast because I know i’ll get excellent service, and dont have to worry about bad food! I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone!

My girlfriend and I came into the Peppermill one morning for breakfast. It was great because the Peppermill is right down the street from me. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted by the friendly hostess and seated in a window booth. Everybody working that morning was very friendly, and the interior was very clean and cozy. My girlfriend and I loved the hanging lights over the tables. Something that is very nice is they have a TV in the middle of the restaurant that scrolls through the specials that they are serving that day. It’s nice that I don’t have to rack my brain trying to remember what I was told the specials were 5 minutes earlier, and they can have more specials because the waitress doesn’t need to stand there for 5 minutes rattling them all off. The food was good. The inside looked nice and clean. The wait staff was friendly. It was near home. You can’t ask for much more than that. I will definitely be stopping in for breakfast again.

Came here for dinner after reading great reviews online. It’s in an interesting area of rochester. Atmosphere was clean and cozy but had the typical«diner» atmosphere which I was not expecting. Dinner menu for entrees was lacking many options and was unimpressive. Food pricing was in the same ballpark as most diners and quality was just«ok». Completely wasn’t what we were expecting so we ordered an appetizer to give it a chance. Was unimpressed so we didn’t order an entrée, paid and went elsewhere.

Basic breakfast/diner fare. My husband ordered the«la style cinnamon French toast,» which was basically expensive regular toast with syrup. I ordered the scrambled eggs and hollandaise on an English muffin. It was fine, but on the bland side. Overall, our experience was ok, but probably not memorable enough for us to go back.

This place is my favorite diner in ROC: the pancakes are amazing & every server has a scrunchy’d ponytail with Jersey Shore bangs. It is inexpensive and fast; a fine place for a 37th date.

Family(3 generations) and I have been going here for almost 15 years. Owners and employees are some of the most incredible waiters/waitresses and«restraunteers» I have ever come by. Your family is their family and their family is yours. Not to mention the food is the absolute BEST hands down, diner food. Quick, easy and you can’t go wrong with what you order. Awesome Job Peppermill! Love them all. Will continue to go here till I croak. It’s amazing how far great customer service and tasty food can make a business go!

Huge fan of this place. The staff is super friendly and the food is delicious. I have not found better pancakes anywhere in the city.(and I’ve looked) — Rarely a wait, although the parking lot could be a little bigger.

I Used to like it there, but I’m on a no carb thing, ordered my omelet with no toast or home fries(it comes with both). The witchy old lady at the register refused to give me any discount at all. It’s $ 1.75 extra to add home fries, and $ 1.25 for extra toast, but she wouldn’t give me even $ 0,75 off for not getting them or the toast. Also $ 2.99 for 3 strips of bacon is ridiculous.

I formerly lived in the Maplewood Neighborhood and must confess that I did not try the Peppermill Restaurant until about eight months after I had unpacked my last box. What a treat! The Christanis family has owned the diner for decades and many of the family members still work there: Anna, the Mama, and daughter, Olga, can be seen during weekdays welcoming and escorting guests to their favorite booth. Son, Chris, who now manages the place, is usually in the back cooking or managing the endless details required to run an efficient food-service company. Son, Dino(who teaches full-time at Aquinas Institute down the road) pops by nearly everyday, as does Chris’ wife, Stefanie, as well as various grandchildren. The family takes great pride in their business, as can been seen in the seasonal decorations. If a holiday is listed on your calendar, most likely the Peppermill is brimming with colorful décor celebrating it! The staff is typically friendly, and once you’ve been there a few times will chat with you like family. The food is typical American fare. There is a white board that lists the daily specials, where you can’t really go wrong. This is a diner, so expect diner quality food. My husband enjoys the Chicken Soulvaki and I’m a sucker for their chicken and artichokes over pasta special. If they have Lemon Chicken soup — order it! Without question, this is one of my top favorite soups evah! I have been known to give a shriek of joy when finding out it’s being served. See if you don’t do the same! Prices are very reasonable, enabling the Peppermill to be a good place to get-together with friends.

Diner a la regular. Clean, nice staff. Food was ok, I ordered eggs florentine, the hollendaise was good not broken or funky. Spinach was frozen, some area places use fresh. The hash-browns could have used some seasoning and a little longer on the grill top for color and crisp but they were cooked through. The place was full but folks were moving through at a good clip for 9:30 on a Sunday morning so they must be staffing well.

This place deserves a review. We’ve all driven by it on our way in and out of Rochester. You’re cruising down 104 near the gloomy industrial backdrop of KODAK and you see the Peppermill… and you think«yeah, that’s a greasy dump» I’m glad to say that it’s far better than that. Go in and have a seat and take a look around… the place is spotlessly clean and decorated for the season(in this case it was Halloween). God help us, the people who run this place might actually give a crap! I got a fish and chips on the Friday special list. Anyone who is a fan of the classic haddock fish fry can tell you that they are extremely hit or miss. The Peppermill made me the best one I’ve ever had in Rochester. Light and crisp batter, juicy fish, and very low on the grease. I’ll be getting it again. The place was half empty at 2pm, but there were many regulars that were stopping in for lunch. The service was stellar; friendly and fast. I’ll be coming here for breakfast very soon. Give this simple diner a chance, because it’s seriously underrated.
