Out of the Ordinary Special Events

INCOMPETENT. DISAPPOINTING. FAILED PROMISES. Our wedding was an amazing evening. The only downfall was our wedding planners. I am no Bridezilla; every other vender is receiving 4 or 5 stars.
* We planned to take shots to close our ceremony. They did not fill the shot glasses. I had verified with them the day before.
* They did not put out the glass for my husband to step on and shatter. (I’m Jewish) And they were not watching the ceremony as it happened. When we were finished and there was no glass, I literally had to announce into the microphone, during our wedding ceremony, «Wedding planners!!! Can we get a glass up here please??»
* They did not put the top on the chuppah, an essential part to a Jewish wedding, even after my mother went out to talk to them about it during set up, and after they had provided me the picture of the chuppah we used.
* Dinner plates were never cleared. There were still dinner plates on tables the next day.
* Cake was not served. It was sliced and put off to the side, with no announcement. They knew that was the primary reason I wanted separate servers & bartenders.
* I made sign labeling the vegetarian dishes, and they were not put out. A couple vegetarians ate only beans & rice because they didn’t know what was safe to eat.
* When trays on the buffet table were empty, they were not rotated out. My relatives did it because they could not find any servers to do it.
* The glasses on the tables had labels and the program asked guests to label their glasses. We had flower pens for the table. I put them in a bag labeled «Pens to put on tables to label drinks» — They did not go out.
* On the seating chart I marked the tables with kids and non drinkers to put Martinelli’s apple cider in addition to wine. No one got their Martinelli’s.
* We had a bottle of port for each table, and bought 150 port wine glasses. They were to go out on each table when the cake was served. That did not happen; the port and glassed were still in their cases the next day.
* Champagne Bar — Was to have sparking fruit sodas, champagne, juices and fruit. They ONLY put out the champagne and fruit. Everything was labeled for them and we discussed this at length before the wedding.
* Coffee Bar — We bought Kailua, Bailey’s Irish Cream, and Butterscotch schnapps to put out on the coffee bar. They did not go out.
* Candy Bar — For the desert table there was an antique suitcase filled with 1920s themed candy (for the theme) and a sign. They did not put it out.
* During the ceremony, our bridal party sat down instead of standing, and they put too many chairs up there so it looks like someone is missing in all the pictures.
* They redecorated my cake. We had a small, simple, white, round cake. They took crumbs (red velvet) from the cake and sprinkled it all over the top so it looked like sprinkles.
* Angela was very outwardly stressed. I had guests tell me she was stressing them out. She kept telling me about how I should write complaint letters to vendors after the wedding, and how bad my DJ was screwing up. I had to tell her, «Things happen. I’m not going to worry about it. It’s my wedding.»
* We made a photo booth. A bird pooped on the front of it. My brother in law got cleaning solution and a rag and gave it to her, asking her if a staff person could deal with it. No one did.
* They could not figure out my bustle. They rigged it and it looked awful, with my floor length gown pulled ¹⁄₃ up my leg. Then she left a pile of safety pins on my chair. My husband stopped me before I sat on them. When I took the dress off and looked at, I was able to fasten the bustle in 30 seconds.
* Our pictures ran long and we asked them to let our guests start eating. They didn’t want to save us food; my brother in law had to insist. Then they made plates to save for us.
* They asked me to buy some items; ice scoops, several wine openers… They were not used.
* They were rude to my parents.
* When people arrived, we had belly dancers greet them. The belly dancers were to hold up signs and seat everyone when the time came. But they made the announcement instead, and the beautiful signs we made went to waste.
