Moon river soap company is a cute soap house! We stopped in for some Christmas presents on small business Saturday. It was fairly busy too! My girls loved the smell of the lavender soaps and hand creams. They picked out two soap bars to gift. You can buy soap in the box for $ 4.50 or naked(without the box) for $ 4.00 — we opted for naked as this saved some $ for more gifts. The owner was nice and helpful. We have not tried the bars yet, but will update the review when we do.

I love this store. I have been getting soap here for years. I even pick up about 50 bars around the holidays for my mom to pass out to her clients for Christmas(they have a great Christmas soap). What I love is that you can smell the lavender in the parking lot across the stress. The people working and living close by must be so nice and relaxed! They have a nice selection of different scents, soaps for different skin types, liquid hand soaps, scrubs etc. The only thing I wish was that they had smaller/sample sizes for the scrubs so I could figure out which I like without spending $ 38. The bar soaps are reasonably priced, some of the other items are a bit pricey but it’s worth it to not have all the unnecessary added junk in your products.

Their soap is great on my sensitive skin. Their store is small and cute but of coarse good soap is highly expensive. I appreciate their knowledge and expressing to me how they make their soap in house. Their small store smells great!

This place smells AMAZING the moment you walk in! Their products are very nice and I think they are resonably priced. The Owners are very friendly and knowledgeable, and always give out free samples. I would highly recommend Moon River, they are a great addition to Rochester!

One of the massage therapists I have visited uses an amazing Shea butter on me & I asked where she bought it. Tah Dah! Moon River Located on the corner of Fourth-East it is quite a cool building. Walked in & both owners greeted us, asked what we were looking for & gave us a tour & a breakdown of the products, plus samples. It is obviously more than a job-career-vocation for LIZ, it is her passion, she can not help sharing with joy about her products. I bought a small tin of Raw Shea Butter $ 12 And a bar of Olive Oil Soap for dry winter skin. $ 5.50 Plus a gift of Wonderful Man Soap for a friend. $ 5.50 They have multiple options in scented & unscented soaps, lotions, butters. The Shea Butter is quite long lasting & absorbs Very Well! The Olive Oil Soap, produces so much more lather than I thought it would, so I’m pleasantly surprised!

I like these guys a lot. Their beer and mojito soaps are fantastic and don’t aggravate my eczema. Unfortunately, some of their other soaps do make me break out, including some of their«sensitive skin» types, like honey and oatmeal. About the only thing I really dislike, and the reason I am not giving five stars, is the propaganda poster they have prominently displayed in a corner. It’s full of pictures of scary factories belching out plumes of smoke, and basically tells you that if you buy soap at the grocery store or Lush you’re going to die of cancer because OOOOCHEMICALS. Aside from the pedantic science nerd in me that’s jumping up and down screaming that everything, including water, is a chemical, I just find it very off-putting and unprofessional. If Moon River really believed in their product, they shouldn’t need to scare people into buying it. Anyway, good place, good soap, good prices. We go back to stock up regularly, but I roll my eyes at that awful poster every time. And I still buy stuff from Lush, too, so nyaaaaah THBBBBBT.

Great for gifts… And to treat yourself. The owners are two of the nicest people you could meet. They really are active in the community and take time with every customer. It is worth the time to stop in and let your nose do the shopping,

Great place. I have bought a few massage oils from here and my boyfriend has bought a few soap bars. Honestly I like the massage oils much better than the soap. All of it is hand made and it is just a cool little place to check out!

I really love their soaps. I have to use unscented, natural soap for my sensitive skin. They provide a great selection at a reasonable price. I use their baby shea soaps and have no reason to go back to the store crap with all the additives I can’t pronounce. The family that owns this place is super sweet and I hop they do well, since they are tucked away off Main Street.

I had heard about Moon River Soap Company opening in downtown Rochester and decided to check it out. The owners are very friendly and helpful — in addition to being knowledgeable about the oils used to make the soap and balms. They seem truly passionate about making a high quality product. My favorite soaps are Lemongrass, Patchouli and the Lemon Eucalyptus. They even make a bar soap for dogs which smells nice and doesn’t irritate my little one’s sensitive skin. I took my sister to the store this summer so she could try the soaps and now she’s hooked, too. The soaps are made with olive oil and I’ve found they suds really well in our un-softened Rochester city water. Much better than standard soaps. I also gave a family member a soap gift basket and it was a huge hit!

I stumbled across an article describing a new beer soap made from my favorite Rochester Mill’s Organic Wit. With an upcoming birthday of a dear friend(sorry to ruin the surprise Christine), I had to stop in! I was a little scared this would be an uncomfortable, expensive adventure, being a boutique in Rochester and all. It ended up being quite the opposite. There were many scents of soap to choose from including Mojito and Michigan Honey at about $ 6/bar. They had many discounts to apply including saving $.50 if you buy a bar without packaging, buy 6 get 1 free and email savings of $ 5 off. The imperfect soap ends are also discounted and packaged in bulk. The owners were very kind and helpful in the shopping process. I will most definitely be giving my friends Moon River Soap for all upcoming occasions.
