Not bad! Being a native of the NYC area, I’m a bit spoiled when it comes to good pizza. As I’ve recently moved to Rochester for college, I’ve found that good pizza should NOT be taken for granted. That being said, this place is pretty average. Went here for the first time last week. We were seated at a really uncomfortable spot with a wobbly table and asked our waitress if we could be moved to a different table. We pointed at one in a corner. She seemed a little annoyed and told us they don’t like seating parties of 2 at a table for 5 people. However, lets be honest here. The place was definitely NOT crowded. Even though she didn’t seemed thrilled, we did wind up sitting in a comfier and less crowded area which I appreciated. Low and behold, the crowd only died down as the night went on so I don’t really think there should have been a fuss but whatever, not a big deal. We ordered the Mediterranean which was pretty good. It was a little messy to eat. I think they could have done a little less cheese but that just a personal preference. There is a choice of crust. We went with the white. Overall the pizza was good. I thought the vegges tasted fresh. We also got garlic bread which is always a must if you’re having pizza. Keep the carbs coming! The garlic bread itself was basically like having another pizza at the table. As for drinks, I ordered a Stella which I think complimented the meal nicely. As for ambiance, the place is cozy. The lighting is cute and definitely gives the place a more intimate feel. Other than the table run in, the service was up to par. Would definitely give this place another visit.

I really like it here. The room is cozy, and the selection of craft beers is large. The menu is simple, and straightforward. Mostly pizza and salads, but each are delicious and bountiful. There is a choice of crust with the pizza, and a wide variety of toppings. Preparation in the woodfired oven makes the pizza crisp and chewy, and the fresh toppings enhance the experience. This is a great little neighborhood joint.

Was just there tonight around 7p. The service gets 4 stars, unfortunately the pizza gets zero, so average 2 stars over all. Pizza was limp and soggy and way to sweet. How difficult is it to find a real New Yorker that can make a real New York pizza!!! Go to the city, and I don’t mean Rochester, NYC, find one of these guys over on Mulberry, or the Village, and make him executive chef partner. But please stop serving this terrible pizza. Don’t feel bad, no one in western NY gets it right either.

Decent pizza and amazing wings! I loved that they had szechuan sauce for a wing flavor!!! The wings were literally fall off the bone! Mmmmm

Ordered 2 pizzas and a salad to go. They didn’t put any red sauce on one of my pizzas! Totally ruined. I called back asking for a refund on just one of the pizzas and they insisted that I needed to bring the pizza back to prove it. In addition to being insulting, I don’t live close by. I asked to speak to a manager or owner and they said they were busy to speak to me. They said if I drive back, they would refund the pizza and make me a new one right away free of charge. When I arrived to return the pizza, they refunded my pizza, but said they haven’t even started making me a new pizza yet. In addition, they said I would still have to pay for the pizza and wait another 20 minutes for it. I had driven all the way back for nothing! I just went home instead without a pizza because I couldn’t stand dishonesty. Wrong orders. Pizza doesn’t even taste good. Terrible customer service. LIES to customers. DISHONESTSERVICE! Go to Napa Wood Fired Pizzeria instead! Or any fast food pizza is better…

Best woodfired pizza in my life here! But that is not all they do… pastas sandwiches, everything! And all so delicious! Definitely will come here many more times!

Had lunch here yesterday. Service was below par! The pizza was ok at best! Chintzy on the ingredients! Advertised fresh mozzarella cheese! The little that was on the pizza was NOT fresh mozzarella! Wouldn’t recommend!

While the pizza was decent, the lackluster service made this okay meal into a poor dining experience. Not worth the cost.

Ordered takeout, started with the pizza. I got the San Fransisco pizza it was decent, not really impressive, a tad bit salty. Went on to try the wood fired wings, couldn’t even finish one wing the chicken had a funky taste and smell to it. Next was the pasta, I ordered the linguine in alfredo sauce with crab and mushroom. The mushrooms weren’t fresh neither was the crab. Mushrooms were marinated and hence a bit tangy which didn’t pair well with the«creamy» sauce. The crab taste like it came from a tin and the sauce from a jar. Everything about it was very low quality. Lastly I had the spinach and arugula salad which was simply underwhelming. I can’t say that I would ever consider eating here again, even if I was invited out by someone who was covering the bill. My advice is don’t waste your money Napa wood fired pizzeria is a thousand times better.

Just got done eating here and would definitely never return or recommend this place to others. First off we ordered drinks and our drinks were flat, we returned them. We then ordered our pizza and it came out 15 minutes later, unfortunately it was not our pizza that was delivered to our table. We than had to wait almost 20 more minutes for our pizza to come out, once we got it we had no silverware to eat with. The pizza was just mediocre, nothing special. When we were done I expected them to at least give us free drinks for our extended wait, nope! Instead I’m surprised with a check for more than I expected. The menu is completely misleading, if you create your own pizza it says«$ 16 Lg. + 3 toppings» well come to find out it’s not a large with 3 toppings its $ 3 per topping. I just spent $ 9 on $ 1 worth of veggies for my pizza. I will surely never return to this joke of a restaurant!

Pizza is basically my favorite food, next to coffee of course. Brick Wood Fire Pizza is definitely a favorite of mine in Rochester. My wife and I really enjoy both the food and the atmosphere here. We have been here several times and have never been disappointed. I usually stick with a Pepperoni pizza that comes with a complementary house salad. The salad alone is worth coming back a second time, let alone the pizza. Perfect balance of sauce and cheese, as to not come off during the first bite. Although I am not considered a regular yet, I’m sure we will be coming back again soon!

The word that best describes our meal is underwhelming. Looking at the menu, we were expecting great flavors, but sadly they were nowhere to be found. We got the veggie pesto pizza and the white pizza. Both were disappointing — limp and flavorless. I also feel like they were more expensive than they should’ve been. Napa and Tony D’s are much better options for wood-fired pizza.

I will start off by admitting we are pizza snobs. My boyfriend and I drive past here often and finally tried it out. Brick is not what we expected. It is nothing more than a sit down service pizza shop, whether intended to be or not. We expected thin, crispy crust from a brick oven with melted, gooey, fresh cheese and exotic, fresh ingredients. However, it was mostly you’re expected toppings, most of which are not fresh, and a slightly undercooked, thick crust. The cheese had not melted fully. We opted for the Hawaiian pizza with red sauce, pineapple, banana peppers, ham, a BBQ/mustard drizzle and cheese. It was fantastic, but not what was expected from a brick oven. They also serve«complimentary» salad that was a nice addition considering they have no fresh food options on the menu. Everything is deep fried, smothered in sauce or cheese– which is what you expect from a pizzeria. They have a fully stocked bar, TVs, small dining area but very well kept. Our server Kahli was incredible. She was attentive without being annoying. She was informative and corky. Exceptional service. Kudos. Many families with young children eating here. Seems like the perfect place to bring the kids, share a pizza and mom and dad can have a drink. This place is very casual, again more casual than expected. I give this place 4 stars because overall the food was decent and service was great. It was just not what I was expecting, so caution my fellow pizza snobs!

I was staying at the HIE next door, and didn’t feel like firing up the car in the bitter cold. An associate and I decided to eat next door at Brick which is literally next door. I’ve eaten here a couple of times, and the pizza is OK. The biggest complaint I have about Brick is that it seems like it could be so much better. The ingredients they put on the pizzas just need to be fresh. For example, if you get broccoli on pizza it’d be nice if it was fresh and not the frozen bag style you get in bulk. This goes for what seems like any and all the ingredients on the pizza. They all seem like bulk purchase frozen ingredients which really doesn’t equal great pizza. The beer is good though, good choices with some local options as well.

What an aroma when you enter the building. Pizza and wood fire are enticing. The dining room is cozy and welcoming. As you will also find from other reviews, the beer selection is very good too. If you get the large pizza you’re treated with a tasty and shareable salad. While the salad was tasty, the wooden bowl it was served in was unappetizing with pieces missing having chipped and flaked away over time. It shouldn’t have ever left the kitchen, the condition was very obvious. Our pizza was a simple cheese and pepperoni. The crust was cooked quite well. We were surprised to get diced pepperoni instead of sliced. My only complaint was that it was dry due to being under sauced. Perhaps that’s normal there, I don’t know. With extra sauce it would have been very good. I’ll go back but will be more specific when ordering my pizza. I also have try the wings and the pasta, both of which I’ve heard good things about.

Fast and friendly service here! Our waitress was super nice and attentive despite being quite busy and only two dedicated waitstaff to be seen. The tap beer(Labatt) was watery and flat, asked for a replacement, was a little more carbonated but was still watery. Decided it wasn’t worth trying again. We ordered a large Hawaiian pizza that arrived rather quickly after the house salad. The salad was ok with your average iceberg lettuce and some runny ranch/bleu cheese dressing and croutons. The pizza had the 50⁄50 crust as we were told it was crispier than normal but it was still soft despite being slightly burned on one side. It had lots of cheese and very little red sauce. Perhaps that is the genre’s preference but overall, I found it lacking flavor and relied heavily on sprinkled red pepper. I’m not sure if it’s an off day or not, so if friends ever meet up there, I’ll give it another try.

Had a vegetarian mediteranean pizza, was hot and we were happy. Big pizza comes with salad and bread. Bread was yummy. Salad was your typical salad, but nice to have it with the pizza. Good for family environment. Liked the oven scene, nice touch. Prompt service. Got quickly crowded around 6−7pm.

Wow… open for a week and my review is the fourth? Brick Wood Fired Pizza is on fire! Well, the Pizza oven is wood-fired. Seriously, given the chequered history of this location, it’s nice to see someone move in and open a new restaurant there and give it a go. Based on the results of our second visit(yes, this was our second visit. the first was on opening night), I’d say they’re off to a good start. We ventured into Brick @ 6:45PM(on a Thursday, no less) and were seated promptly. While our server was a mite slow getting our drinks to us, the time was not unreasonable. Again, there was a slight(but tolerable) delay before we got our food ordered. We ordered two ten inch pizzas for four in our party and a burger(with kettle chips) for the fifth. When we asked our server to serve our complimentary salad without tomatoes, she happily obliged. Our pizzas arrived in a reasonable amount of time, with the burger following shortly after(they must’ve read Tubby T.‘s review!). So what was our final verdict? Well, the wife and I loved our white pizza with sweet sausage, and my daughter & her boyfriend must have felt the same way about their meat lover pizza, because it disappeared! My son polished off his burger with aplomb. I didn’t even get a chance to try it(next time!). While I have had better wood-fired pizzas(Gate House anyone?), I can safely attest that Brick’s is the best I’ve had outside of the city(suggestions?). Definitely better than JoJo’s… And as far as burgers go, they look promising. The only gotcha 9there always has to be one, right?) was that there was a slight mix up in the ordering; My son specifically ordered his burger medium well & when it was served it was medium rare. Not a huge issue for my son as he likes them either way. But for those who like their burgers well done(and you know who you are) would do well to clarify that with their server. Anyway… I liked this place well enough to add it to Unilocal after my first visit. And I like it well enough to come back and give it a good review. I hope that Brick does well enough to change the luck this location has had in the past few years. *Note* updating my rating to five stars due to their *excellent* burgers… my new fave!
