Went to Mike for the first time Thanksgiving Saturday. I chose Bauman’s because he takes walk-ins. I got frustrated with the previous barbers I had been to which only take appointments. I would book an appointment and when something suddenly came up and I would have to cancel, it would be another couple of weeks before I could make another appointment with the same barber – very frustrating! With Mike, I can just walk in anytime at my convenience. I really enjoyed my experience with Mike; his place is a very relaxed environment. He gave me just what I asked for – in and out in 20 minutes, no fuss, no muss. He uses the Square app on his phone, so you don’t need to remember to stop at the ATM before you go there, and I love the«tap-to-tip» feature. Makes tipping painless. Definitely looking forward to visiting him again!

When I lived in Rochester, I was a regular at Mike’s. Got my hair cut by him every 3 – 6 weeks, he’s the best I had found, and I haven’t found as good a barber since. He always gave the best fade, and layered/feathered my comb over just right. He never had to redo any part of the fade, unlike many who will go back and forth, back and forth, and still miss some. He’s also very careful — the first time, he’ll cut a little longer than he thinks, so if you want it shorter he can do it, otherwise you might not be happy with it being cut short the first time. I always appreciated that, since it didn’t leave room for error. Mike always gave me a hot straight edge cleanup around the back and sides, which I loved and miss quite a bit. Squareback, roundback, whatever, he’ll get you taken care of. My friend asked to have a triangle taken out of the back of her fade, and he did it with a razor. Perfect. Mike’s good for conversation, and is a real down to earth dude. I asked him about beards once(since he sports a fiery one of his own), and he’ll work on yours by request, but usually doesn’t offer. Want product? Cool, Mike’s got it. Don’t? Fine, he’s not a pusher, like some. I don’t think I ever waited longer than 20 minutes for a cut, either. Other places I’ve waited over an hour and a half, which is a major bummer. Oh, and the cut I’d get was always $ 15! What a steal! Tip generously folks, he deserves it.
