Custard will always just be Custard, and Ice Cream will always just be Ice Cream. Then you have Abbott’s…this god send of a ice cream company that seemingly came out of nowhere to serve the Rochester area delicious cones and dishes of succulent velvety ice cream. Now there is certainly some better local places to get custard that is slightly better then what Abbott’s offers but even with that, you can never go wrong with a simple vanilla cone. It’s absolutely lovely to see that Abbott’s has found it’s way into one of Greece’s most congested places on a weekend, a mall of all areas. A bit strange that it isn’t even remotely close to the food court area, it’s near the Barnes & Nobles store which is a good five minutes worth of walking to get there from the food court. Don’t worry about having to wait in a long line, there is next to none of those here and you can even sit down at one of the barstools and enjoy your custard or ice cream on the bar even though you’ll be looking at the employees most of the time. There is a comfortable seating area just to the left so if it isn’t taken, it’s more of an ideal place to enjoy your sweet delight there without a million eyes staring at your treat. The employees happily balance out from chipper young adults eager to serve to slightly bitter teenagers who look to be only there to make money and otherwise hate their job. Expect some rudeness if you so happen to get one of them but even with that, it doesn’t sour the experience at all. As every one in Rochester has already tried and enjoyed the taste of Abbotts, this one is really no different from the rest apart from the seemingly bored young employees. The mall location here really helps here for those wanting to try a new snack instead of one of those fancy pretzels just down the corner. While not really offering anything new, it’s still Abbotts. That is just enough for a reason for you to visit and create one of your own tasty combinations. Not that creative? A simple vanilla custard will definitely set you in the right mood for the day, curiosity of frozen milk and a dish full of joy.
