The whole Alex’s Organization is fantastic. I went to each place Rochester, Berkley and Clinton Township and all the food is delicious. The environment makes you feel at home it’s very warm and comfortable. The service is very nice and fast. I don’t need to wait for refills or to ask for anything extra as they bring everything I need. Management is perfect and professional. The restaurant is really clean and I always see Alex uptight about keeping his business clean which is awesome! Food is delicious and the chef specials are excellent! Try the lemon garlic chicken or a nice prime rib(very juicy and full of flavor). I’ve been here for awhile now and all the food is fresh and excellent. Love this place and Alex is a funny guy! My kids love him he’s very friendly and professional. I will be back very soon!

Giving each Mother a rose on Mother’s Day. What a nice touch. Breakfast at Alex’s is very good with a great selection as well as daily special’s. Excellent service with reasonable prices. What’s not to like ? Egg’s Benedict for $ 6.99, count me in.

Super good place for lunch. Big salad, fresh an leafy. Just as it should be. Clean place, nice staff, nice menu. I’ll be back to try a few more things for sure. Looking at the entrées coming out to the tables next to me made me realize I had to come back for more. Coffee was fresh and hot. And the price was good. Big plus that you didn’t have the long wait times that you do if you go to downtown Rochester on a Sunday afternoon. And it’s only right now on the street.

I have loved this place since I moved to the area 4 years ago. I have an obsession with the chicken salad croissant, it hits the spot every time. The waitresses are all very welcoming and kind, I bring my small son with me mostly– he is two and can be a handful and sometimes disruptive, but they all adore him. The owner, I forget his name– well he is always there and he has kept the same staff since I’ve been going there which I find to be a PLUS. He is very friendly with his customers and calls my son his«buddy» and welcomes us every time. Oh and they serve split pea soup(amazing) — they had me at the soup!

Went for dinner tonight food pretty good, but our waitress was oblivious, she seemed extremely out of it !!! Took our order well brought soup and salad quick never came back to ask how things were had to hunt her down for a bread bowl. Brought our entrée and wandered off didn’t ask if we wanted anything else or fresh drinks !!! To bad !!!

I’ve come here for breakfast before, and even though it’s a halfway decent place, I can’t give it over 3 stars. It’s hard to explain why, but I feel like it’s missing something for me. It’s a great little family owned place(to the best of my knowledge) and reminds me of what places like Ram’s Horn try to be. Cute, clean and a well rounded menu. Place is nicely decorated, the kind of place that our moms or grandmas go to as a place to talk about grandchildren and whatever else they talk about. Menu and pricing is decent, as is the service. The place can be busy at times, but lately I’ve been missing the rush of people, which makes it a lot easier for me to get in and out. Even though it’s located on a busy stretch of Rochester Road, they at least have a stoplight which makes getting in and out of here a lot easier. My food is usually pretty good, and the coffee is tasty as well. I’ve had the corned beef hash in the past, but today I went with the two eggs, hash browns and toast since I just needed to eat and wasn’t feeling all that fancy. I do come here from time to time, but nothing on a regular basis. Will probably be back again when I’m running errands on Rochester Road.

Not many words for this place. Just really bad. I ordered a chicken shish, asked for half portion of rice. The waitress assured me it was a small amount they serve. Wrong! It was more than half the plate of rice. Just all around bad from service to food.

Had only one meal here in the past with my family and the food and service was great. However the experience I really wanted to share was the day my car ran out of fuel in the entrance of Alex’s on a chilly night in early December. Idk if it was the holiday season or just genuine kindness but I can’t thank the staff and owner(George) enough for taking time out of a busy dinner rush to drive me down to the nearest gas station to buy fuel. After struggling to figure out the gas can the station had lent us(pretty sure it was broken). George also went into his restaurant to hand make a funnel in order to help me get going on my way. And I am so grateful for that day. Anyone who is this sincere deserves to be recognized for that and I will most definitely be a return customer for this completely unrelated experience with the restaurant!!!

So our family decided we should try some place different tonight. We pass by Alex’s restaurant many times before but never tried it. So tonight was the night and I will have to say our family of five gives this place 10 thumbs down. The home style fried chicken with mash potatoes were awful! I think the cook mistook the sugar for salt for the chicken batter cause the chicken almost tasted like candy! Now for the fries… now common how can you mess that up? The oil must be old cause the fries were dark, soggy and cold! My wife had the fish and chips and it was not all that great. My kids food were just so so and nothing to write home about and the portions were small. The only thing going for it was our server. We difinately will not be coming back.

This is the second time eating at Alex’s and I’m pretty disappointed. We ordered breakfast, fairly simple eggs over easy, toast and sausage links. When the food came, there was no toast and the sausage was undercooked. The waitress came back with new sausage, still undercooked and still no toast. I finally settled on cold toast, cold eggs and no sausage. What a bummer.

This is a family restaurant. I’ve eaten here now seven times. Twice for breakfast, three times for lunch and twice for dinner(because of a friend). I’ve had an omelette and French toast, for my breakfasts, these were very good indeed(not like Denny’s) For the lunches, I went with friends and between us I’ve had or sampled all the sandwiches. Liked them all. They are not over the top(stacked) NYC style deli but very good. One of my friends is a Ruben sandwich nut and he’s coming back. What’s that tell you !!! Now, for the dinners. I had the fish twice. I had salmon, which is served plane but the kitchen helped me out with a made up sauce .The salmon turned out good. Then one day I saw a special fish dinner and thought«What the hell«Whitefish in wine sauce. WOW !!! My friend told me I was giving her an ear ache. Then I let her taste it, she said«Holly shit ». Not very ladylike and not your average family restaurant. Think I’ll dump the girl but keep the restaurant.

We eat ar Alex’s about once every other week. Good food at good prices with good people. A comfortable place to visit with the family & everybody can pick a meal that they like. Parking gets tight sometimes but there’s always a space.

Working toward becoming«regulars». Shockingly delicious with friendly staff and nice décor. Way better than your average, blan diner. The charbroiled chicken is a must!, as is their strawberry chicken salad, shish-kabob, and short ribs… this is as far as I’ve gotten amongst the vast options. Stop in, you will not be disappointed. NOTE: Gotta love that the owner(George) stops by to check on the food and service. Love this place. Thank you George and team.

Is there such a thing as greek comfort food? If so, Alex’s serves it. Still one of my favorites for a quick stop in… greek salad, coney dog, and a bottomless ice tea. All the waitress are quick and friendly.

Food was good but the wait staff seemed stressed out and not too friendly. Will try them again sometime down the road.

Good, clean diner. I love the omelettes and the service is always great. Even on a busy Sunday morning the staff is happy to serve you and it’s never too hard to get a table. They serve breakfast all day which is awesome and I like that the food is typical diner fare but not greasy. Easy access location from M-59 and close to major shopping makes this diner the perfect place to meet friends/family or stop for a bite to eat while out and about.

Great food at a great price. For the money, you get a great portion of food. The waitress always want you, the customer, to be happy. They are willing to do anything to make sure you are in a great mood during and after your meal. They have great lunch specials, make sure you try one of those.

My wife and I stopped here when we happened to be in the area and only mildly hungry. Though the vegetarian choices are limited, I did get a decent, albeit saucy, teryaki vegetable stir fry. My wife did better with her breakfast food(they serve it all day — big plus). Her pancakes were tasty and accompanied by a slice of real ham(not out of a can). Alex’s does need to work on waitstaff decorum. We were greeted by an argument between the head cashier and two waitresses when we entered(it took a couple of minutes for them to notice us). Our waitress, while not unkind, did seem a little tone deaf in her communication with us(an odd trait in a service person who depends upon tips). Overall, Alex’s is nothing special but an acceptable choice(especially if you want breakfast food at an odd hour).
