The coffee shop has closed. The bookstore remains open but a lot of its book are geared towards homeschooling.

Unfortunately the coffee shop went out of business at the end of April. The bookstore is still open.

Checked this place out while waiting for dinner at Babe’s. Small and quaint. The ladies working there were helpful and kind. The coffee smelled delicious and the pastries looked fresh and tasty. Purchased the pistachio muffin. Super delish! There was a 1-man-band playing upstairs which was rather loud for how small the place was. Neat shop.

4.5 stars but giving them the benefit of the doubt because I really like this place. The 0.5 star deduction is because I wish they were open more often. It’s a combo book store/coffee house/live music location. Haven’t tried the coffee yet but the choices seem extensive. I love the book store side of the house. The prices are reasonable and there is an emphasis on local authors and topics. Check this adorable little place out!

What a wonderful eclectic book store and coffee shop! This was my first visit to «The Book Carriage & Coffee Shop» and it won’t be my last. I can wait to stop in for coffee and browse the shelves for interesting books. Amanda, at the coffee shop, prepared a beautiful raspberry latte. It was so delicious, I really wanted to order another one but resisted. I highly recommend, if you’re in the Roanoke area, that you stop in for a latte and a good read.

Since Amanda took over the coffee shop this summer, we have become regular customers. The coffee is roasted in small batches and usually served the same day it was roasted. If you want a superb, artisanal latte, espresso, cappuccino done to perfection, stop by. You won’t regret it. For us, it’s a coffee shop first, and a book store second. But it is a really fun book store! There is an ample supply of books and a lot of fun, artsy merchandise too. Sometimes The Book Carriage and Coffee Shop is our only reason for driving into Roanoke.

This is a coffee/espresso oasis in the middle of nowhere. The latte and macchiato served was perfect temperature(as requested) and the fruit parfait was made fresh to order as well. The owner/barista is cute and friendly(with a great bod) I’ll surely be back next time I’m in town for business. Support artisan coffee!

Love this place! Really nice vibe, wood interior, good coffee, and a private second story with a couch. Perfect place to do homework, reading and writing. Free wifi!

Such a charming book store and coffee place, I highly recommend! Excellent drinks made with care by the barista, so much better than Starbucks and very original, not your average coffee place. Great study and lounge areas both downstairs and up in the loft with plugins nearby. I LOVE this place and will be here as often as I’m in Roanoke. Excellent service and great atmosphere, they really do a good job! Wish I lived closer because I’d be here all the time

Friendly staff, free-wifi, live music on saturdays, and plenty of places to plug. The only downside is that the barista is replaced by a coffee vending machine on weekdays.

This is an adorable coffee shop. There are books lining the entire establishment and lots of cute merchandise to buy including keychains and cards that have the changing pictures. The barista is friendly, a little slow, but very precise. The drinks are interesting– much better than those at a chain coffee shop– and really delicious. Warm or cold. You pick from two sizes– 12 oz and 16 oz. Each drink comes hot or cold, y’know, the standard. And. Yeah. Really nothing bad to say about this place. Definitely worth the stop if you’re walking around downtown. Did I mention the coffee is delicious? If I lived in Roanoke I would be here every day.
