Fabulous hotel. If you’re a hardcore heroin addict or a prostitute. In June of 2015 a person was found dead from a drug overdose in one of the rooms. Not the first time it’s happened. My husband and I booked a room at this dump about a year ago because we were attending a concert. Well. We left for dinner and came back to discover the maid had stolen from us. Classy right? Room was filthy, the Arab at the front desk was incorrigible and rude, bad location. I can’t think of a single good thing to say honestly. So again… Unless you’re in desperate need of a heroin fix, or looking for a cheap dump to take your johns and escape your pimp for awhile… DONTSTAYHERE! For the love of GOD don’t stay here!

The outside lights stay on and bright so if you stand outside you are in the middle of bugs. We also slept with a few. Breakfast is ceral and bread. Bathroom light took about a minute to actually turn on. Lamp for the light switch was broken. Good water pressure on the shower, no hair dryer. Fridge was full of ice but didnt get cold.

Stopped here after filtering down through Shenandoah NP and the Blue Ridge Parkway,(the two National Parks fit together seamlessly, delicious…). I started in Front Royal, VA the nite before. The Inn was largely vacant, as I arrived mid-week. The staff was nice. Check-in was easy. Counter girl was sweet. Room was another trapped amidst the 1992-motel-hay-day-aesthetic. Working micro, fridge, coffee maker. Solid water pressure and heat. Ample delivery food, within a drive lay some local bars & grilles, Vietnamese restuarant across 4-lane divided highway. The sheer volume of rooms within the complex leads me to believe it gets very busy at times, or once did. The area is suburban-commercial. A totally reasonable stop while winding through Appalachia. Granted, there are undoubtedly better non-franchise options available with the region.

We stayed at this motel while in town for a Skills USA competition. At first look it seemed like a pretty normal, lame motel but this motel was so much more than lame, it was an experience. The first night played out like you would imagine it to but the second day the toilet randomly overflowed. No specific reason that we know of, just decided to overflow. We went to get a plunger but because they had one person working the desk by themselves we couldn’t get it right away. Well we left for our awards ceremony and when we got back that night the toilet plunger was there and the real fun began. At first a group of people checked in to the hotel and went to the room at the end of the line from us. When i walked back outside the smell of pot overpowered everything else as a man with no shirt exited his room drinking a beer and letting the smell of drugs exit with him. We went to sleep and at about 1 in the morning were woken up by police sirens, screaming, and banging of the doors around us. A woman screamed obscenities as a man banging on a door screamed«get the food, get the food» which I am pretty sure was code for their massive inventory of drugs. Well i had to sleep through that and we left early this morning. The staff were really nice but if you were to come here i’d recommend ear plugs and your own plunger.

This is the absolute worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. It was filthy and smelled rancid. The front desk agents were not only disinterested, but actively rude. The room was either frigid or boiling, requiring us to get up every hour to turn the heater on and off. But this review will be short because our main problem is one that should deter any human, or even any animal, from staying here: Our comforter had a giant semen stain on it. DISGUSTING. Stay away!

I’m surprised at the poor reviews of this place, as we had quite a decent stay, on a Saturday night. The neighborhood is not wonderful but we had no untoward experiences related to the area. I found the staff rather cold, to the point of being openly hostile, but maybe it’s a cultural/language thing. The place is owned by Indians, with no personality at all. Most of the time at check-in the young desk attendant didn’t even look at me. Not a very warm greeting. Sadly, that’s all to common in Indian owned places. The«Patel Cartel» needs to work on their desk etiquette. The hotel franchise could help in that regard. A young lady who was there later was very cold when I asked to use a house phone to dial a room. She literally threw her cell phone across the desk at me with a look of impatience on her face. It was as if smiles came at a cost. When I was unable to make it work, she seemed even more annoyed. She had a nice piercing in her nose. The room itself was pleasant enough with very comfortable mattresses, a working wi-fi, a working air conditioner, a TV, a microwave and a fridge. Nice amenities for the price. The bathroom was clean and reasonably modern and everything worked. There was a toast and coffee, cereal, sweet roll and boiled eggs complimentary breakfast in a pleasant breakfast room. USA Today was free. One MAJOR negative was the stairway– no elevator. The stairway, of concrete, was extremely steep. It was steeper than any I had ever seen at a motel. Narrow steps and high risers. Seemed dangerous to me. Next time I’ll go across the street to the«Phở Vietnam» restaurant and also try the Viet sandwich place around the corner. the motel is located adjacent to the Civic Center area.

Had to switch rooms after being offered a prostitute by a toothless man, but they did upgrade me for free after that, room is clean enough, the building that the office is in seems a fair bit safer than the second building, in which the door was not sealed, instead they had placed duct tape on the bottom of the door, not to mention the screaming drunk people outside my room at night and construction throughout the entire day. But hey, get what ya pay for.

Well, spent another few days in Roanoke, VA. I decided to give this motel another try since the Choice brands are running a special. It was much, much better this time, the room was about $ 50/night, and I got a non-smoking room. It was cleaner, fresher, and the whole appearance of the room was just nicer. The bathroom was an upgrade from the one on my last stay. Everything about this room was an upgrade from the last time I stayed. It is what it is, a room for just the bed and bath. No frills. Good for those who are budget minded and don’t need much.
