The Depot

I cannot eat here because one of the waitresses told me I was lucky she didn’t spit in my food the last time I was there. I will not ever be unlucky because I will not eat there. The food is okay but from now on if I want to eat there, I’ll have to get takeout and use a fake name. Sad I have to say that about a business.

tell you what, this place suffers from bad clientele way more than any problem of their own making. wow. people in this town need a serious attitude adjustment. I thought the food and service were quite good, considering the BS the servers had to deal with the evening I was there. on a Monday no less! you won’t be disappointed if you give this place a fair shake.

I had the taco plate. Three shredded beef tacos on corn tortillas with black beans and rice. The corn tortillas were cold, dry and brittle. The meat was tough, dry, and very stringy with no seasoning. The beans and rice were pretty good. Table service was good. I will go to El Sol de Mexico or the café at the sale barn next time I want Mexican food.

Some of the worst food I’ve ever tried period. Did not resemble anything close to Mexican food and did not taste anything at all. Bland and smothered in cheese the food was just terrible. It was recommended to us by our hotel and it was busy seemed to be where everyone in town was but it was terrible. Service was terrible food was terrible and flies were buzzing around out table. We took two bites and walked out.

Picante just ok margarita just ok chips from a bag ordered the chimi well presented and good
Service was top notch a 20% tip

I don’t like it, to pricey! For bad food!

We sat outside on a very hot day — they have mist sprayers on the deck. The service was good and the food was good but the salsa was Excellent! I wish we could have taken a bucket of it on the road with us. We would eat there again.

Had a late dinner with my wife here after we put our kids to bed (Grandparents watched them). The food was very well prepared and the service was good. The décor was very interesting with a model train circling above our heads and life sized metal statues of a mariachi band. I will come back and eat here again the next time I am in Riverton.

I wasn’t impressed with The Depot. It’s a neat looking place from the outside, and decent on the inside but their food leaves a lot to be desired. Everything we had was pretty bland and the service was just plain absent. Parking is pretty limited too. I’d rather go to El Sol de Mexico.

Is this what Mexican food has come to? OMG! This place is cute but their food ain’t. The rice is bland, the beans kinda crusty instead of refried wonder. I’ve had chicken verde (I’ve had better at drive in joints), the Margerittas were weak and just tasted of premade mix instead of fresh made. I took my mom here for Valentine’s Day. THey actually served mini cream puffs on a skewer and thought this was fancy. More laughable than anything. Their salsa is pretty bland and their chips tasted old, in fact they had a bit of a rancid smell so we pushed them aside. I believe it used to be better, but quality has sunk to a low. The rellanos were sloppy, had no cheese in them and were soggy. When we spoke to the manager (some nasty little woman) she was just downright rude. SOOO, Valentine’s Day was our final visit to this sucky place. Also, needs a good cleaning, especially the restrooms. You could hear people cussing and saying foul stuff from their kitchen. Sounded like a prison kitchen, lol… at least what I’ve seen on movies. Bad news: food and service not good. Good news, the place is cute. But service and food outweigh cute, lol.

My Favorite for Mexican food in Riverton. Atmoshere is great with a recent remodel. You can get a great meal with plenty to eat and have a drink with it as well so that is a plus. Downside to this place is the lack of parking and the high prices compared to equivalent restaurants in other Wyoming commiunities. The service is great however.
