Never got a table. They took our name down and told us 30 mins. We checked back 45 mins later and didn’t even know about us. Customer service was terrible.

For the price this place is not worth it, ordered steak n Mac n cheese. Steak was ok but not worth $ 40, Mac n cheese was ok. I would not go back

Week went here tonight for a «no reason» special occasion. It was fine. I hate that that is the best I can do, but it really is. Nothing stands out in my mind as complain worthy but also nothing was really worth raving. The restaurant was basically empty. Less than 5 tables but they still seated us right in front of the kitchen. And –every– time I was in the middle of speaking, it seemed like the waitress would walk up and ask some question that was largely pointless. That being said, the entire meal I got my water glass filled once and I had to ask. So yeah I could keep talking but bottom line — it was OK. And I guess its a pretty expensive restaurant and I was hoping for more than OK.

Everything was extremely salty. I had the filet with seasonal vegetable and the French onion soup. Soup was very salty. Steak was salty. Broccolini was salty. The worst steak I’ve had in KC. It’s hard to describe, but the meat tasted like a dairy farms smell. Ew. Service was good though.

awesome food, great service, Chef Omar is one of the most talented Chefs in Kansas City. Ask for Joyce to be your server she is a true gem.

The Husband and I have been coming to Journey off and on for several years. He enjoys the casino so when he has comps, we usually use them here. The service has always been good to excellent, depending on our server. The food is good, if not particularly creative. We’ve never had to send a steak back and the salmon I had last night was perfectly flaky. The desserts are ok, again not very creative. My biggest issue with Journey is that the menu is always the same… for years, no changes. They do have a different special each week but often sell out of it. I would like to see some variety, I’m starting to get a bit bored.

Ridiculously expensive, but what can you expect for a casino. The waitress was extremely rude, and was annoyed when we wanted more water. The steak and calamari were pretty tasty. But the service was just terrible.

I TRIED(My rating in Parentheses) — 18oz Wood Fire Ribeye Steak(6⁄10) — French Onion Soup(7⁄10) Well, I’m on business again, and here in Chiefs territory… more on that in a second. I did zero research before coming here, so I wasn’t really prepared, but a friend commented on a Facebook status to try the steaks. I had already planned on finding a BBQ joint here(i.e. ribs, pulled pork, etc), but never would have thought about steaks. It just so happens, that we ended up at the Argosy Casino to play, and decided to get dinner before doing so. The first thing I noticed was that the hostess was wearing a football jersey… but here we are in KC and she’s got a Darren McFadden Raiders jersey on! Huh? Ok, well, maybe she had a crush. That’s fine. We get seated and while only a few servers were wearing NFL jerseys, only 1 was wearing a Matt Cassell jersey, the rest were Randy Moss, Chargers LT, and some others. But on top of that, I don’t recall a Black KC Chiefs jersey or a black Chargers jersey! I don’t know what kind of NFL they’re doing here, but it’s not what I’m used to. So anyway, like a typical bell curve, this restaurant just falls under the hill. This is your run of the mill«fancy» steakhouse with run of the mill«fancy» steakhouse prices, and run of the mill«fancy» steakhouse taste. Obviously, the steak is going to be better than Outback(which is outside the curve. on the wrong side), but just like your run of the mill«fancy» steakhouse, it’s just… run of the mill! Nothing was unique about this place save one thing, and while it could have helped it become a «unique» «fancy» steakhouse or a «tasty» «fancy» steakhouse, they just didn’t deliver. So, what is it you ask? Well, this place has«Wood Fired Steaks» in their name(or at least a subtitle), so the unique difference is that they’re cooking these steaks on a wood fire. I can’t visually confirm this, but I can culinarily tell(that even a word?). There is most definitely a unique flavor in the steak. You’ve got that authentic smokiness. Don’t think«smokey» like ribs smokey, but it’s like a suggestive flavor. You get traces of it with each bite, and it’s just enough to make you crave it, but not enough to satiate the craving. So you take a bigger bite, just hoping that you’ll find the source. I noticed that I was eating this steak probably faster than most others I’ve had, and it was probably this perfect balance and trickery of flavor that they added. It’s a bone in ribeye so it’s not totally a tease, you do finally find the source there, or at least a burst of flavor. If I ended there, this’d be a 4 star or 4.5 star place. But there was one major problem. For all the amazing FLAVOR the steak head, it was lacking in SEASONING. It was bland. I had a very good red wine blend to go with it, but even with it cleaning my pallete, I got all the great flavor, but it just wasn’t seasoned enough to satisfy. I actually had to salt it some! Of course, once you salt the top of the steak, the seasoning is disproportionate, because the saltiness doesn’t spread uniformly, but you get spikes of it, which is not good, which is also why having to salt a steak is very bad. I think I paid like $ 50 – 60 for the meal, which is decent considering that it came with a steak, good size French Onion Soup, and mashed potatoes. If I was ever back in the Argosy Casino and needed dinner, I wouldn’t object to coming back, but I probably wouldn’t be the one offering it as a suggestion. It’s not a bad place, it’s just nothing memorable or exciting.
