Everything I tasted was so delicious. We started off with Chorizo tacos The tortillas were hand made and I think so was the chorizo. Costel de pulpo y Camaron are delish! And the Micheladas are great!

This is a good hole in the wall Mexican food joint. Ceviche and micheladas on point. Their other meals are great too, I had some sort of grilled shrimp dish that was tasty. You may need to know some Spanish to order and communicate with the staff, but I did ok with my three years of Spanish. My family turned to me when the waitress asked a question and I would have to interpret.

We went to eat there because some one told my husband that they have delicious Aguachile. The place looked ok, we ordered drinks and I saw baby roaches crawling on the wall next to me. We asked to charge us for the drinks and left. If you have Rouches crawling on the eating section, I can not imagine the kitchen. I am never going back thank you very much. I DONT recommend it! Grows!!!

The ceviche tostadas are really great and on Mondays it’s buy one get one free: D That oyster shot was good haha it is with tequila which I hate but it was good. I wish the shrimp tostada didn’t cost 7 buckaroos though lol I mean I’m still going to come back and order them haha I’ve been here multiple times and all for the shrimp tostadas

Having eaten around San Diego & Baja I can assure you this is not«authentic» Mexican seafood or regular food. The food made me throw up as soon as I got home. The carne asada was greasy & of poor quality. I hope I don’t get ringworm from this spot. The booth seats are so close to the table it would be impossible for most adults to squeeze into one. Horrible. Do not go here. On top of that they never completed my order of two tacos. Just one. This may sound like a rant but be forewarned this is more of a hole in a bathroom stall than a hole in the wall. Cheers.

Try the oyster shooters, they are strange and tasty at the same time!(If you have a weak stomach or are squeamish think twice before trying one) One consists of a shot of tequila with lime, salt, chili and a raw oyster inside. The oyster may look eerily similar to an intestinal track when it is all scrunched up in the shot glass, but don’t let that stop you from trying it. I’m pretty sure you are supposed to down the whole thing in one gulp but I prefer to hold the oyster in my mouth in order to taste it; i wouldn’t recommend that if you might be overwhelmed by a slow shot of tequila. It was definitely a memorable experience! The salsa was mediocre and so were the ceviche tostadas. I would come back for the shooters since not many mariscos places offer them around here.

Dirty place, service sucked(hooker uniform waitress), dirty oysters… CHEAP tequila used in oyster shooter! The 1 star only goes to the ceviche, which wasn’t bad.

Great find in Riverside! Ordered ceviche(mix of shrimp, octopus, and abalone) with a shrimp taco and iced tea. The ceviche was really quite well prepared… very flavorful and a suprisingly large portion, I felt as though I probably should have *not* ordered the taco since the ceviche was so large. They brought a fish taco instead of the shrimp taco I ordered, it was excellent. The iced tea was very good, had a lime flavor to it. I will definately be returning!

This is a great hole in the wall with authentic Mexican seafood. The shrimp tacos here are the best I’ve had. The shrimp is sautéed(not battered and fried) with onions, cilantro, tomatoes, and spices that really bring out their flavor. The dishes come with chips and a tangy green salsa that has a little kick. The prices are reasonable and the people there have always been friendly. Depending on how busy they are the service can be a bit slow, but the food is well worth the wait. The restaurant has a lively atmosphere with music playing from a jukebox and soccer is almost always on the big screen.

The things I have heard about this place from my boyfriend… The ceviche, the big plate of seafood, the octopus… And then I tried it. To begin with, Mariscos is not for the faint of hearts. They serve authentic southern Mexican food, and if you like americanized Mexican food then you will probably turn around at the aight of the shopping plaza this restaurant is in(if you can even finish reading this review or are still attracted to make a trip down there). so be forewarned, this is not one of THOSE ‘authentic’ Mexican restaurants that play live Mexican music. The closest thing to that is the jukebox or the stack of CDs by the cash register, which I was quite content with. This is where real mexicans come for a hangout with their ese or a bucket of ice cold beers or their oh-so-delicious michelada. We were served this green salsa and chips once we received our drinks. The green salsa was a little spicy with a nice tanginess to it. We killed it within five minutes and asked for seconds right away. Then we got our mixed ceviche. It was ceviche with chopped up shrimps, octopus, fish and scallops. The seafood was so fresh that it had that fresh seafood sweetness to it. We asked for more tostadas, but they brought us chips instead, which I thought was just fine. The dish was very satisfying nevertheless. Then our main dish arrives, and when I say main dish, it was two feet and one foot hot plate that is filled with grilled shrimps, crab legs, scallops, green onions, meat, chicken, quails, fish and jalapenos. The jalapenos looked sooooo good that I forgot they were jalapenos and took a bite off it. It tasted so good for the first three seconds, then my mouth was on fire!!! Anyway, the point is, the hot plate was REALLYREALLYGOOD. All of this was served with homemade corn tortillas. I don’t usually like corn tortillas, but oh my goodness to the tortilla gods, they were so fresh and perfect! The hot plate was $ 30, and the six of us left the restaurant with our stomachs in our hands. Everyone applauded the boyfriend for bringing us to this fabulous find. I really have nothing to complain about this place other than the semi slow service at the beginning, but then again, the girl was serving the entire restaurant by herself. This is really a great Mexican restaurant. Anyone who is in Riverside or passes through Riverside should give it a try. ¡Buen provecho!
