They take absolutely no accountability, they will never call you back or follow up. You will regret the time you spent dealing with them. The front staff are sweet and take a lot of abuse because of unqualified, unmotivated management.

I rented a home from H&J. It was the worst thing I had ever done. my room mate at one point actually fell through our deck due to rotted boards. In response H&J came out a week three days later and put a piece of plywood over the hole with a orange cone on it. Two weeks later they came out and patched the boards… They then followed this up by painting the deck, mind you this was a wrap around deck… they painted it in high gloss interior paint. When I questioned the workmen about the kind of paint he said this is what he was told to do and that he didn’t know anything about it since he was a roofer they contracted to do it. After that every time rained it was so slick we actually had to install ropes to help us walk to our front door. We finally got out of this place and H&J contacted us saying we owned them money for damages. At that point we went back showed them pictures(again) that we took upon moving in and the request for fixing things that had not been addressed and matched them to the items they were saying we broke and the woman at the time who we were dealing with said«oh ok ill take care of it then» we did not get any of our deposit back even though we left the home in far better condition then we found it. at one point they even tried to charge us for a tree that the neighbors cut down from their yard that fell in to the dividing fence. Recently I checked my credit and now have a collection on my credit from H&J under their new name. I have called H&J repeatedly and talked to Eddie(older lady) asking for a list of what it is I owe for and a statement showing where my deposit of $ 1500 went to. Each time I get a statement of Ill get back to you I have not once received a call from them or any notification of me owing them anything other then it was reported on my credit and turned in to a collection agency. For over 2 years I was an on site maintenance technician for fsm, formerly hj. Their treatment of employees is terrible enough, and it merely extends to the residents. I broke my thumb while on the job and rather than use workers comp, they made me claim I got hurt off the job and they were to pay cash for my doctor. Well they failed to pay the full amount until it almost went into collections against me. If you have an ac issue forget it. For 2 years I worked for a company that wanted us to tell residents ac is a luxury and not necessity in California because they didnt want to pay to repair. Getting paid overtime was a joke, usually received like 2 months later. Their home Depot card was ran overdue by 90 days twice and was delinquent a good portion of my tenure. Part of my compensation was my rent and utilities. as of 10÷1÷14 fsm was replaced by affinity property management(a far better and more professional company). Fsm was responsible for my utilities for September, which they did not pay causing my electricity to be turned off. More than half of their maintenance staff does not repair anything properly. Thats a big reason I would not call for assistance when I fell behind on my property. My advice, bypass any property managed by fsm. Unprofessional, lazy, and corrupt.

Do yourself and your family a favor and do not rent any properties managed by Full Spectrum Management. I signed a lease agreement for utilities included in the rent for an apt in Palm Springs, yet several months ago, the decision was made to start making the tenants pay a portion of the utilities. Since the property is on a shared water meter, they decided to go with YES Energy Management for billing and charge us, the tenants, a $ 4 service fee. When I found an error in billing, I called YES only to be told that they«only do the billing for property» and if there was an error I need to speak with the property manager(who does NOT do the billing!) When I have brought serious safety concerns to the attention of the property manager(Broken window) I was told, «sorry, I’m told by FSM that repairs are just not in the budget.» So, there is a giant, gaping hole where glass should be in my window, yet it’s not important enough to fix?!? Does this company even let the real owner know what is going on with this property? FSM is curious as to why they can’t keep these units rented, well, here is the answer: Nobody wants to rent from a company who couldn’t care less about the property they rent, let alone the tenants they rent to.
