This tour was AMAZING — the guide was excellent and really knew everything about the area. We got to learn a lot about not just the desert but about how the area has changed, as well as to see some local landmarks. As we have a 4 year old who can’t really hike, this was the perfect way to see the incredible Sonoran desert and learn about this incredible landscape. Please, please continue to allow these jeep tours — they are wonderful and very sensitive to maintaining the environment.

We took this tour today, Friday April 6th. We took the morning tour. At first, we got to the General Store to be picked up at our agreed upon time of 8 am. We were early and waited until 8:15 when we decided to call and verify they were picking us up and that we were at the right place. There had been a mixup of our time but they quickly got things figured out and sent Bob out to be our guide. We could not have asked for a better guide. He arrived at 9:10 and we got underway quickly. He was one of the most knowledgeable guides. He was a wealth of information about the area. We were treated to so much history on the desert, the surrounding area and the way it used to be. Bob was above and beyond in his 3 ½ hours he spent with us. He was an excellent desert guide showing us how to survive in the desert, how to navigate by the barrel cactus, offering us a taste of the cholla cactus and so much more. We went off road on some of what he referred to as the«good road»…it was a real off roading experience. We definately go our money’s worth and he did that all on a day when he had other plans. Thank you Wayward Wind Tours for making our vacation memorable and to Bob, we owe you our thanks and gratitude. The Reedys from MN
