If I could give less than a star, I would…
I hired this body shop for a very simple job: paint and install two side scoops on my Mustang, and it turned out to be a complete disaster!
— Color matching: my car is black, plain black, no metallic effects or anything like that. These guys couldn’t even match black. Under the sun the painted parts came out more dark grayish than black, the mismatch was very obvious.
— Paint runoff: on one of the two scoops there was very obvious paint or clear runoff, on the top edge of the part. This was so visible you could see it standing a few feet away from the car. Yet the car was given to me as is, they obviously didn’t care about how their work looked, and didn’t check the quality of their paint job before mounting the part on the car. I took the car back to have them fix this issue, and it looked a little better, but the runoff was still very obvious. The edge of the part was also full of polish residue that they didn’t bother cleaning up.
— Part installation: these OEM parts came with a template for drilling the mounting holes at the exact design location. Unfortunately that was too hard for the body shop to use. The parts were installed an 1/​8″ too low, which means that they didn’t exactly line up with the body lines as designed, and the curves of the scoops didn’t match with the curves of the car. After a couple of weeks, portions of the tape holding one of the scoops in place started to come off because of this.
— Cleanness: When I picked up the car the first time after the initial install, the car was dirtier than I dropped it off. When picking it up the car second time, they tried to clean it, but it looked like someone went over the whole car with the a wet cloth, and didn’t rinse or dry it, and I had to wash it again myself. There was white dust left inside the car and on the seats as well.
I try to support the local businesses in my town whenever I can, but this time it was a huge disappointment. This was clearly the worst experience I had with a body shop, and I cannot recommend that company to anyone.
